  1. that makes no sense whatsoever... connecting the pod to any other amp no matter how good or bad... does not allow that amp model to have its authentic REAL (as in not modeled) internal power amp. and whether you like it or not... the amp models in the DT are the same as the amp models in the pod... apparently that makes you unhappy... but it's by design, and i personally think it's a great and well thought out integrated system, with each part also being useful on its own. sounds like you really don't understand the integration and are planning some sort of unnecessarily complicated scenario to solve some non-existent problem. seems odd that someone would rather do that, than learn the equipment that they bought.... but as long as you like your results go on with your bad self.
  2. I've seen plenty of piezo issues on the forums... but i've had the originals on my 600 since it first came out....(something like 8 years ago?) and it was my go to guitar for years.... no issues. i guess i just got lucky, or you just didn't :) probably lots of people in between.
  3. input and output... for example the desktop model does not have a variax in, aux in, or l6link, or xlr out... all of these are part of the hd500 and the pro (which also has phantom power for mics, spdif digital in/out, and a dry out)
  4. Not really... if you turn off delay within the same patch they stay... but if you change patches... no dice, unless you are using the fx loop you suggested.
  5. everything is based off of the same digital models, so the quality is consistent, The inputs and outputs are the real difference. i'd probably say the hd500 is the best value if you need a floorboard... that and it's got the majority of the I/O options that the pro has.
  6. that's typically do to sensitive pots and vibrations, parking your knobs at 0 will fix it. (except the master volume of course)
  7. yes you have to have an FBV MKII shortboard or express.
  8. depends on what parts you need... the coffin assembly or internal boards are probably gone... but knobs, jackplates, piezo's etc can usually be had.
  9. the same amps in the pod hd are in the DT25.DT50 selecting the amp on the pod selects it in the DT... along with those other settings. in other words.... the DT amps have modeled pre-amps, the same modeled pre-amps in the HD, if you configure it the same they should be pretty much identical.
  10. you probably just need to turn monitoring on, for the backing track.
  11. Yeah, it can change the guitar, the tuning, and everything else on each tone.. :)
  12. you can have a tuning selected for each tone... the way you could accomplish this is to simply have duplicated tones with different tuning selected example: 1A Jam-Eb 1B Jam Drop D etc....
  13. why not just drag and drop the backing track onto an empty track in reaper... or otherwise add the track to your session in reaper... it's clearly already recorded :)
  14. correct, you'd just have to install monkey, and launch the license manager, log in and authorize your computer. any packs bought under your user account can be authorized on up to 4 computer and/or devices.
  15. you won't have to buy metal shop again... but the pod farm license itself is owned by the UX2, and you'd need to get that. don't know about the gain internally but you might just look into something like an ART MP mic/tube pre-amp... 25-40$ gizmos that some people swear by.
  16. listen, i'm trying to get you some help... and eventually a correct and working guitar.... forget about the dates 2011/2012... doesn't matter. it's not like they wait until new years eve to change things... there may be good or bad in either year... what i'm suggesting is that you show us your issue, and then we can start getting them addressed... if your only issue is that you got a new guitar from some warehouse somewhere that happened to have the wrong year for your taste... then too bad... no manufacturer or reseller guarantees you a manufacturer date... just a new piece of gear unless otherwise stated. i'm not going to respond or attempt to help you further unless you also start trying to help yourself.... and pictures of your exact issue would be a good place to start.
  17. Not true. Monkey works on macs as well. (Intel macs only though not older PPC ones)
  18. let's try the opposite approach.... why don't YOU post pictures of your issues and we'll get some eyes on them and see if we can't find someone that can help you.
  19. you can ask of course... which may help future products, but i'm certain they won't be updating your existing product. depending on what you are trying to do with the drum machine... you can put the drum machine into the fx loop return to record it (you could not record from the cd/mp3 input on L6 devices) if you just want to play along, that might require a bit more creativity... but there are plenty of inputs...
  20. i'm hoping they bring back "new coke" or "crystal pepsi" too... i mean they just have the formula's laying around.....
  21. as triryche pointed out the guitarport is a soundcard, so if you are using the one you linked to and the guitarport you are using 2. certainly don't know about your friends situation or PC, but it's a standard for audio production that only a single card is used... this helps latency by ensuring that the audio uses 1 hardware clock to sync the input and output thereby controlling latency and many other time related artifacts. if you want to use your speakers your best hope is to get a cable from the out of the guitarport to the input on your internal card... might work, but you'd be trying your luck there.
