  1. great work once again! wish we could get these upgrades on an off the shelf version!
  2. highly doubtful the new version will do spillover between patches... as that requires the old tone to be loaded and all its DSP in play while also introducing the new tone and all its required DSP... which is more than likely over the DSP limit....by a factor of 2x, if your patches need loads of DSP.... the m series is not outdated... still features on the pedal boards of many pro's essentially the new version HD500x is a HARDWARE upgrade.... don't expect much if anything in the software department.
  3. results may vary... but you can surely do it... the biggest hassle would be filing the nut so that you don't bind up etc... if you don't make the adjustments to the nut the strings will make them for you over time... not a good thing... because you'll end up needing a new nut due to various string buzzes and possibly uneven fret wear and a fret job to go with it...
  4. you would be taking a chance on a used one not having the fix as well... what you might try to avoid the service center is buying and installing a separate USB card in your computer.... seem to recall that the NEC chipset cards were somewhat reliable... not every card will work... but its usually pretty cheap to try one... (20$ USD, may be different for your country)
  5. okay... that information solves it.... you have whats called USB dropout. Line6 has agreed to fix it for free regardless of warranty status (might be bulletin #52 i believe) but you need to call a service center and get it fixed... its a hardware issue that you can't fix otherwise. without the fix, the x3 works on some computers and not others... some operating systems and not others.... so your recent change is what made the hardware issue obvious.
  6. thats the problem you HAVE to use the X3 as your soundcard... you cant switch the output to another soundcard. also make sure that your output on the x3 is set to match studio direct....
  7. I've RARELY heard of this issue... not sure why karma is serving it up to you....
  8. I'd return it while the option exists.... but i do think a full firmware reflash might help.... i'd flash to an earlier version say 1.7x and then to the latest... it helped clear up an issue i had when mine was new.
  9. i'd guess you may have updated the drivers, dig around a try an older version, this might revert back to former behavior.
  10. I haven't used either in over a year, and never used them in any "realtime" fashion... so other than trying the two different programs i'm not sure i can help. did it ever work "realtime"?
  11. i'm in the same boat... i have my 600 up, and people want it for free :D i have some upgrades on it as well not the roland deal... but its nice enough and its perfect condition. i'm also in no hurry... the sweetwater sale cant last forever! haha
  12. highly unlikely this will happen for the JM4, but the suggestion would probably help with whatever comes after... the JM4 is older and uses the same amp models as the spider III stuff, so it's due for an update... not that i have any knowledge of such... just stating my opinion.
  13. you'll have a tough time getting that for it... with the JTV89's at sweetwater for 700$ but it's nice enough... good luck.
  14. yeah, you can do that... you can also do vocals or bass through the other path or whatever you want... its a nice option.
  15. go to the details of your purchase: http://line6.com/account/purchasehistory/ and there should be a gift button assuming you meet the requirements....
  16. i don't know the specifics, but there are generally 2 types of rack screws, a fine thread and a coarse thread, and the type you need is determined by your rack not the equipment being mounted.
  17. they would not tell you if there was... but being that the newer HD modeling is out for a while, and that the new pro tools needs a new format (aax) it's probably a sure thing... however... no idea on the time frame or any real info one way or the other.
  18. have you tried lowering the gain? sometimes too much gain can work against you....
  19. are you playing at volume? sometimes the vibration can cause the knobs to re-read.
  20. don't have many service techs that stop by the site... but you could probably get some best guesses if you submit a picture.
  21. you should probably just buy the pod farm license by itself. pod farm won't add much to the XT anyway since its not an editor (use gearbox) but the XT can be used as an interface, and if you're looking to use pod farm to record, then things will be simpler if the XT interface would work for you.
  22. if the jamvox supports ASIO/Coreaudio devices then the answer is yes... pretty standard, so it's probable.
