  1. you can use any preset for anything... the factory installed presets are just a suggested starting point... you can put any tone you want in any preset.
  2. No. there is still a limit... just a bit higher.
  3. there is no possible fix.. they'd have to stop your strings from vibrating... this will never happen... sorry.
  4. you can hit the dsp limit alot if you insist on using dual amps... you can also avoid the dsp limit alot if you're fine using a single amp.
  5. depends on your amp, and your reverb, and all those other choices... i know you can put together an effects chain like that easy enough.... you may have to compromise here and there though. so i cannot have my full amp with, reverb, delay, chorus and some other stuff at the same time?
  6. it's just a slower processor... it's limited when the current processor is working at capacity.... the new HD500x will also be limited... just a a higher capacity... which is more models... (it could have been higher quality models i suppose... higher quality requires higher processor capabilities too) it's just like opening alot of programs on your computer... things get real slow... the firmware on the pods do not allow things to get slow... because the quality would get bad...
  7. digital signal processing.... it's basically the speed, capacity, and capability of the electronics.
  8. i do believe it has a fender twin... but no acoustic amps (1 acoustic pre-amp though) the modeling is technically superior and my opinion is audibly superior than their earlier models... but i don't own a vetta and never have.... i do understand that it was a high end implementation of that earlier modeling.... so it's probably pretty good in it's own right.... can't answer definitively.... up to your ears.
  9. there is no reason to ever change channels when using with a pod HD500. just program the pre amp models you want into the pod and it is the same as changing the channels... it should only go to channel B when you turn the amp models off.
  10. are you running pod farm 2.5+? pod farm 1.x does not have 64 bit plugins.... (although you may be using 32bit reaper and it would be moot)
  11. you don't "open" the plugin folder, you add an additional folder path... typically something like c:\program files\line6\pod farm 2\vst and then scan.
  12. True. (more than the 500 and the pro... there is no 500pro)
  13. you might just find you a keyboard amp like the roland 300... essentially a PA combo...
  14. yes it will work with the VDI port the same as an original variax... which is to say that some JTV specific features will not be accessible... for example saving the tunings with your tone... you may have to manually select them... but it should have no problem, powering, sending audio, and forcing guitar models.
  15. there is no usb function on the original fbv pedals no... unless you engineer some sort of go between device as you'd need power to the fbv.... you'd also only be able to use the commands it already sends that are setup for line6 devices, meaning you could not control the midi... i assumed of course you meant midi controller, because making it into a midi interface is not really possible/practical. honestly, my advice would be to seek another solution... but you can get a decent price for a used fbv on craigslist or ebay... maybe that will help you get what you need.
  16. there are amp models in all the pod HD series that have "pre" in the title... this is the preamp only without the poweramp modeling... is that what you mean?
  17. what you bought is not doubt a universal DC adapter (they all go from AC as thats whats in the wall socket) this is correct for most things.... if you do not use the correct AC to AC adapter then you risk damage.... http://line6.com/support/docs/DOC-4521 the link toneman gave you is correct.
  18. i'm sure someone will be able to help you out... patience... you have to realize that the XT is 10 years old, so it doesn't get as much traffic here as the newer pods...
  19. well yeah.... and they probably did it with the processing needs of their 25 year old code... easy enough... you can no doubt race the crap out of a golf cart with a corvette engine in it.... it's a lot harder to race a corvette with a golf cart engine.
  20. a number of different ways to do this... dependent on your needs... but i think you're making things more complicated than they need to be.... if you like your amp get an m9 or an m13 instead of the 500x, if you need the amp models i'd ditch the extra pedals...
  21. just download pod farm 2.5+ if you have a 2.0 license the upgrade is free.... http://line6.com/software/
  22. dude... it appears as if english isn't his primary language and the word "against" was added improperly... the rest of his post says he wants more power and more slots.... nothing you or anyone else would object to....
  23. the hd500x is more powerful than the pro.... most likely a pro x model will be released at some point... the new version of monkey lists it... (or at least did... no idea if that's been "fixed") but that's all anyone knows....
  24. for the toneports, you should probably use pod farm (version 1.12, not version 2.x)
