no. you can't buy a single model.

yes you need to have the battery... and i think a plug in the 1/4" is also required to turn it on....

just uses a standard guitar cable.... unless you are wanting to power the guitar with the XPS box... then you will need a standard TRS cable... (basically 1/4" male stereo)

the hd500x... because he'd benefit from the amp models as well as the fx

whatever comes after it is likely summing it to mono...

possibly one way compatible.... but the hd500x edit could also do a conversion.. so "compatible" is an assumption.

by saving the hd500 files with hd500 edit... not sure where the mystery is?

When not using it.... you probably aren't using the USB for sound either... unrelated.... have you tried other browsers such as chrome or firefox? one of them may use a different method of playing youtube.... just trying to isolate the issue.

i had a new machine do this too... do a search for dpc latency checker.... have that running then try to use it... if it spikes into the red while playing (and the issue occurs) its something else on your system... i tend to also have the task manager open so that i can see what might be causing the spikes.... another thing to try... get slimdrivers... make sure that the more obscure drivers are up to date on your system.

make sure you are using a usb 2 port.... i've seen these have issues with usb 3 ports.

it's just a hardware upgrade... the software (models etc) were always intended to be the same... having said that... it will actually now make more sense for them to pursue more models (that all HD pods will get) with the new buyers and continued use of the pods internal software.... so its a good thing.

they've said this is going to be the case on their facebook announcement.

they all have a pod farm 1 license hard coded from the factory... you need to get the drivers sorted out and get the gx recognized by your mac.... after doing so run the license manager, and it will help you get and install the pod farm 2 license. one note though... you won't have all the models on the pod xt unless you bought model packs... those will share with the GX... however factory pod xt models (such as the power pack) won't be available.

you can put the effects loop anywhere in the chain you want it... i'd put it last for typical live looper use.

the 500 and 500x use the same software.... as in continued support WILL happen.

i'm just a loyal user like yourself, who happens to know a thing or two... i don't owe you anything respect or otherwise... i'm simply telling you that if this feature is that important to you... then this is not the product for you. basically they'd have to double nearly everything internally to do what you want... and they'd lose alot of loyal customers if the price doubled and nothing but one feature was added.

it's not really supposed to be an upgrade for most people... apparently not for you.... the only way to get spillover, probably ever, is to put a second pod in the loop... its just not suitable for your needs i guess... not a problem... i bet sony made 100 tv's this year that you aren't going to buy as well...

That and i believe the ability to have a different feed from the 1/4"s and the xlr's to do amps and FOH... or so is my understanding as i've not actually used one.
