  1. what pod do you have? All you have to do is plug it in and go... typically... assuming its a pod xt/x3/hd any older pod you will probably need an interface (as in the older pods won't do what you want)
  2. in some cases depends on when\where you bought it... but it would show pod farm 2 if there was a license for that version... all of the devices have pod farm 1, which is why it doesn't show that specifically.
  3. loads of help here: http://foobazaar.com/podhd/toneGuide/
  4. Actually the wireless forums, and the stagescape, stagesource forums are already an exception to this, as they are actively monitored by the project manager. No offense to the support guys... but the guys monitoring the aforementioned forums, really know these inside and out... I think you're getting a way better deal.
  5. you don't have a pod farm 2 license... install pod farm 1. (that's the license it sees)
  6. I'll see if i can't get someone to give this another look, Don't know what their policy is or what they can do... but it sounds like you're only asking for a fair deal.
  7. i had the same issue on a different computer, the only fix was an external usb card.... but it was worth the 15$ to stop fighting that battle look for an NEC or TI chipset if you go that route
  8. I guess i just had a different perspective of the question... you may well be correct.
  9. you shouldn't always do anything :) typically the dream rig does use cabs... and typically pre is probably preffered (saves DSP, and you have the physical power amp in the DT) you may however just like the full models better... go for it....
  10. you CAN control it using usb... install gearbox...
  11. I think you mean turn monitoring off and leave it off... (i think its the speaker icon in reaper on the track) anyway... sounds like the live playing is probably over top of the monitored/recorded track.... I've never had to mute/unmute, but perhaps chas is used to a different DAW than i am.
  12. do you have any software that uses an ilok? because iloks being plugged in can affect authorization.....
  13. should work with any midi interface... however line6 uses the m-audio UNO internally and test with/recommend it. I'd get you another cable and try your current interface before spending @40$ on another...
  14. you might install line6 monkey and the drivers ahead of time. http://line6.com/software/ both will be required to flash.
  15. they always intended it to be USB... it's just possible that the unit was released before the usb capability was fully realized.
  16. I would recommend both cables, because monkey may not detect it with one... but try it, If monkey sees it, it should be fine. certainly try the USB upgrade first. I think that the USB capability was enabled from the factory on those... it's only the bean shaped ones that have the midi limitation (If i'm correct here) keep in mind if you bought it used and it had any model packs... you will lose those when you reflash.
  17. often times the volume\level of the tone is part of the equation of what the user is intending to go for.... if they leveled them all for rock tones, then the blues guys would complain etc... so they did it IMO the smart way... did the best for the preset and what they had intended when making it... and let the users do what they will from there.... besides... the preset are nice to dive right in... but anyone that is REALLY going to use these things anywhere near their potential will outgrow the presets in no time flat.... i also believe that anyone, even taking a more pedestrian approach... would go to custom tone and download tones with levels all over the place... so... i don't see an automatic limit doing anyone any good other than to essentially limit the total volume/headroom of the device as a whole.
  18. i disagree (and you can disagree and adjust the DEPs if you like) but i find that the hum warms up the sound and makes it sound more real and less digital... removing it sounds computer generated and bland.
  19. I like what you dialed in better than page (gasp!) but i can only imagine that's 40 years worth of technology to your advantage.
  20. i assumed he had the 300, and the manual claimed something was different on the 400... don't have a 400, but my understanding it that the software is mostly the same between the 2, just some I/O and form factor differences.
  21. Love what the tele does for that song... bites right through... would not have been the first guitar i'd have thought of to do that cover either... i probably would have grabbed the 56 goldtop... and of course wouldn't have played it as well either :)
  22. I used to have a vintage USA 52 reissue... one of those deals where you regret having sold it when you were younger... budget doesn't allow for that now... So i have a MIM tele with USA pickups which is probably one of my most played. (i have close to 30 guitars!)
  23. I think he is referring to the limitation of FX1.... meaning you can't use more than one of them at a time.... and it's exactly the same on the HD400... you have to go desktop/500/pro to get around that. it's setup intentionally this way to automatically manage the needed DSP.
