You don't need to use Line 6 Monkey. Indeed you can't use Monkey, as it doesn't support the Helix. You just need to download and install the program called HX Edit. That will install the editor (called HX Edit), the updater utility (called Line 6 Updater), and all the applicable device drivers you need.

You need download and install version 2.60 of HX Edit.

Pod xt live power supply
phil_m replied to mgrassi's topic in POD 2.0, POD XT, Pocket POD, FloorPODs
No, they operate on different voltages. The HD500 power supply is 9V DC, and the XT Live is 9V AC. -
I have noticed the Loop Expander seems to be finicky about starting up. I'm assuming it has a large current draw at start-up, and if it doesn't get enough power, it shuts down. I've been leaving my HX turned off when I plug my board in and the just hitting its power switch after everything else has turned on.

I wasn't even trying to be particularly snarky (for once!). I read your first post as saying the Save button was completely missing, and I was just pointing out that it was still there. Not sure I understand why having the actual text on it matters that much as long you know what the button does.
-
You’re upset that it doesn’t actually say “Save” on it?
-
That is the save button.

A bit pedantic... I'm not stupid, you know. My point stands, though, the underlying modeling and architecture is similar. I'm not a fan of all the little knobs and such on Axe Edit. There's just not much that appeals to me about the Fractal products, to be honest.

No, it always requires a 2 second hold to enter tuner mode.

Sounds like you need to install the latest version of HX Edit.
-
Did you install the latest version of HX Edit?

Oh come on now, this is one bug... Line 6 support has actually been phenomenal with the Helix. I've seen them do crazy things to help customers. I imagine once they are aware of this, they will try to fix it quickly. It looks like it slipped through testing.

Please read this post: You don’t need to download the flash file.

I honestly have no desire to really try one. I tried an AX8 a few years ago and wasn't blown away, and the Axe FX III is an expansion on that, so I don't really feel like I'm missing out on anything. I have too many things in my house as it stands right now. Not saying the Axe FX III isn't awesome, but I just feel like I have more than I need with the Helix and Helix Native.

I don't think the Firehawk 1500 was ever considered a "flagship" product... The Helix line is clearly carrying that banner right now.
-
It is. You can do it through Line 6 Updater. This is most likely a corrupt preset, though. There might not be a way to recover it.
-
Did you check Global Settings>MIDI/Tempo>Page 3, "MIDI PC Rx"?
-
There are actually five Legacy phasers, along with the two HX phasers.
-
I should have asked earlier, but did you install the latest version of HX Edit?
-
Did you create a backup prior to installing the update? I would perhaps try restoring from the backup to see if you can get it back.
-
Is this happening in multiple presets?

NOTE: Because of the size and complexity of the 2.8 update, the update instructions are slightly different. Please refer to this link: 1. Open up the existing version of HX Edit and create a backup of your device. It's probably a good idea to create backups of your individual setlists and IRs as a secondary backup. Close HX Edit. 2. Download and install HX Edit from the "Downloads" link above. THIS IS THE ONLY THING YOU NEED TO DOWNLOAD! 3. Run Line 6 Updater and follow the prompts. 4. After the update is installed, you can open the new version of HX Edit that you installed earlier, and you're ready to rock. That's it. You don't need to perform any hardware resets.
