  1. I don't understand what the big deal about the switch is... They added the USB A port so you could connect to an iOS device without having to use a camera connection kit. As far as the Spider Remote and Samsung, it depends on the particular version of Android it's running. Some work and some don't. Overall, though, Android seems to be much less reliable for this type of application than iOS. Also, don't forget that there's a PC and Mac version of the editor. The Spider V series actually has more options for remote editing than any other Line 6 product line.
  2. Yep... There are two different styles of VDI interfaces now, but they'll all work with any Variax.
  3. That switch is for switching between iOS and all other operating systems, not switching between Mac and Windows... And no explanation? It's right in the manual...
  4. Yes, ignore the blinking light... It doesn't exactly correspond to the tempo that's controlling the effects. It's just there to give you a basic idea of the tempo, imo. If there are two hardware clocks - one controlling the internal tempo and one controlling the light, it's probably not something that can be changed via a firmware update. If the blinking light bothers you too much, you can always turn it off in the Global Settings menu. I use my HXFX as the master clock for three other pedals, and as far as the tempo that matters, it's been rock solid.
  5. I don’t get it... What’s so difficult about meeting those requirements? If you put an external looper in one of the effects loop, you will have an audible gap in its playback when you change presets. You would need to connect an external looper after the Helix’s output if you want to be able to change presets and have the looper playback be seamless.
  6. In order for the looper to maintain playback from patch to patch, both patches have to have the same type of looper block (1 button or 6 button, mono or stereo), and the block has to be in the same processor path. It doesn't have to be in the same position, though. If you have it on Path 1(or 1A or 1B) in one preset, it just has to be on Path 1 (or 1A or 1B) in the next.
  7. Yes, numbering is from left to right, starting at the top. So FS9&10 are the middle two on the bottom row.
  8. Have you tried doing a factory reset? To do that you hold down footswitches 9 & 10 while powering up. Note, this will erase any presets you've added, so you'll want to make sure you have any you want to keep backed up. But it might be worth trying.
  9. I’ve not had any issues like this. Actually, I updated to the actual 2.60 firmware right before a large gig I had on July 4th (was running various beta firmwares prior to that), and everything worked great.
  10. You don’t just need a single cable. You need a VDI interface. The guitar should have come with it, but given your question, I’m guessing yours didn’t. You can pick up a stand-alone VDI interface or you can use another Line 6 device with a VDI jack that supports Workbench HD.
  11. I don’t remember - is there a “scale” parameter on the second page of parameters?
  12. Sounds like a USB issue. Have you tried different USB ports and/or cables?
  13. I'm pretty sure Frank Ritchotte has said they've changed that policy now so that the Native license is transferrable/saleable. How one would go about doing that, I'm not sure.
  14. Both transmitters were simply using the same channel. You both need to make sure you go through the pairing process. Take the first one, plug it into the base for 15 seconds so it finds the best channel and then that one is set. Plug that one into whatever instrument will be using. Do the pairing process with the second one, only after the first one is finished.
  15. There’s never been a “Save To” button in HX Edit... A number of people have been asking for it, though.
  16. Download and install the new version of HX Edit.
  17. Per the manual, the Helix only sends CC data if the value saved in the snapshot you’re going to is different than the one you’re currently in. I know in the Facebook group Igor mentioned looking at changing this to global setting so people could choose how they wanted it to behave, but right now, it’s not designed to send every CC value per snapshot.
  18. Those functions aren’t available with the 1-Switch Looper. There’s only so much you can do with one footswitch.
  19. I can’t say I’ve run into this issue, and I’ve copied quite a few of my presets. Have you ever done a factory reset on your unit?
  20. You just need to reverse bypass state of the way block. On the unit itself, with the pedal in the heel down position, go to Signal Flow view and navigate over to the wah block. You’ll see the name of the wah block above FS3. Just push FS3 to change the bypass state to off. Now the wah will come on when you push the expression pedal past the 5% position and turn off when you bring it back. You’ll need to do this in every preset where you’re having this issue. Make sure you re-save your preset after fixing it, of course.
  21. Instructions are in the release notes: Using the 1 Switch Looper: Add a Looper > 1 Switch Looper block to your preset and assign it to a stomp footswitch.(Adding a 1 Switch Looper to HX Effects from Stomp view automatically assigns it to the selected footswitch.) Press the 1 Switch Looper switch. The LED lights red, indicating the loop is recording. Press the 1 Switch Looper switch again. The LED lights green, indicating the loop is playing back. Press the 1 Switch Looper switch again. The LED lights amber, indicating the loop is in overdub mode. Subsequent presses of the switch toggle between play and overdub mode. While the 1 Switch Looper is in play or overdub mode, press and hold the switch for 1 second. The most recent recording is undone. Holding the switch again will redo the recording. On Helix, Helix Rack/Control, and HX Effects, “UNDO” or “REDO” briefly appears on the scribble strip. On Helix LT, “UNDO” or “REDO” briefly appears in Performance view. Quickly double-press the 1 Switch Looper switch.Playback/recording stops and the LED lights white, indicating a loop is in memory. While Looper playback/recording is stopped, press and hold the switch. The recording is deleted and the LED lights dim white.
  22. If I had to guess, I would bet that the volume pot comes before the A/D converter for magnetic pickups. So in that case, the pickups would still be affected by the impedance of the pot itself.
  23. So, I finally got a chance to mess with this tonight, and it seems to be working as expected for me... I started with a blank preset and added 4 CC Toggle commands to footswitches, and set them different in each snapshot. According to the MIDI OX monitor, the expected CC messages with the correct values are being sent when I change snapshots.
  24. It just so happens that the Helix is only MOSTLY digital. There's a big difference between mostly digital and all digital. Mostly digital is slightly analog. With all digital, well, with all digital there's usually only one thing you can do...
