  1. You need to download and install the latest version of HX Edit.
  2. I'm not sure what you're seeing, but there are various flash files for the various hardware skus, and then there's the 2.6 version of HX Edit. All you need to actually download is the newest version of HX Edit. After that installs, run the Updater and that will download the flash file for you. Come on folks, we should all know the drill by now! :-)
  3. Line 6 uses a different wiring scheme for their expression pedals than typical TRS expression pedals. This is what Line 6 wants (with the Helix and the HX, the actually value of the pot isn't as important): With this scheme, the potentiometer is acting like a sink for the voltage coming from the EXP jack. Most expression pedals are wired like this: When you move treadle, it varies the voltage going back the tip. The value of the potentiometer in this scheme isn't important, as it's not directly in the expression circuit. Because the ring connection is grounded on the TRS versions, I think that why some of those end up working. The voltage between the tip and the sleeve is still being varied by the treadle, but at some positions, it grounds out, so you get the jumps to 0 or 100.
  4. As noted above - it's released right now. Before you do anything else, open up your existing version of HX Edit and create a backup of your HX Edit. Then, go to the Downloads link above, and download the latest version of HX Edit, and that will give you the updated drivers and the latest version of Line 6 Updater. Run Line 6 Updater to install the firmware update, and then you'll be good to go.
  5. You should install the 2.60 firmware update that was just released like 10 minutes ago and see if this is resolved. There were a bunch of bug fixes involving MIDI commands in the Command Center.
  6. Well it's not even 7:00 AM in California yet. Typically, they release updates in the afternoon.
  7. Push down on the knob for the rate to change it from milliseconds/Hz to a note value.
  8. You can create backups and restore from the backups with HX Edit and the HX Effects right now. You've been able to do that ever since it was first released. As far deadlines, there has never been a deadline. There have been targets, and those have been intentionally broad, as Line 6 knows there's always a chance for unexpected issues coming up. The way I see it, if people want to wait to buy the HX until the editor is released, they can. But if they want to have the ability to use the hardware in the meantime, they have that opportunity, too.
  9. Well, it's not really vaporware if it's in beta... I mean, I've been using/testing it for three weeks or so. It's going to be released soon. One thing to remember is that they're releasing the update for the entire platform - the Helix, Rack, LT, HX Effects and Native - at the same time. So testing each SKU isn't a walk in the park.
  10. Because, why not? Here's mine: The underside: It's a Pedaltrain Novo 24. I have all the pedals on the top going through the Loop Expander and that's in one of the HX Effect's FX Loops. Those pedals are in turn controlled by MIDI (the Meris pedals get MIDI through the little Meris MIDI I/O on the right). Everything is powered by two Strymon Ojais.
  11. Actually, you can change the bypass states of effects that aren't tied to footswitches. You can do it with snapshots, or you can do it by assigning the bypass for those blocks to EXP1 or EXP2. You can also assign bypass control of blocks to any MIDI CC you want.
  12. According to Frank Ritchotte on Facebook, they're aiming for next Monday now. I think there was a nasty bug they found late in the process. It happens, unfortunately. They've had several release candidates... I guess that's why they test stuff.
  13. The OP is talking about the HX Effects. This doesn't apply.
  14. Oh, it exists... I've been using/testing the beta version for the last three weeks or so. I understand the impatience, but just hold tight. It really should be any day now.
  15. You actually don't get into Snapshot Mode by hitting the Mode footswitch. Hitting the Mode switch toggles between Stomp and Preset Mode. It's just in your case, you have Preset Mode set 8 Snapshots in the Global Settings menu (which is what I do to). To get into Snapshot Mode from Stomp or Preset Mode, you hit the Bank Up and Bank Down buttons together. Not trying to be pedantic about it. Just trying to avoid confusion as how you access the different modes seems to be a source of confusion for quite a few people.
  16. Oh, there’s a roadmap, at least generally speaking... It’s just not something Line 6 is going to publicize for the world to see.
  17. I don't understand what you're asking for...
  18. Download and install Line 6 Monkey, and run that with your HD500X, and that will tell you everything you need to do. HD500X Edit is definitely available for Windows 10, though...
  19. It's in the final stages of beta... Apart from something unforeseen, I expect it will be released this week.
  20. Have you downloaded and installed the HX Edit installation package? This contain the drivers you need. Line 6 Updater won't recognize the HX Effects unless you've installed the drivers.
  21. The downside to this is it renders the capacitive touch feature unusable, which, imo, is almost more important on the HX than on the regular Helix.
  22. Open up a support ticket. It's probably related to this: https://line6.com/support/topic/32964-hx-effects-audio-artifacts/
