You just need to toggle the bypass state of the wah. Go into Signal Flow view, navigate over to the Wah block, and hit FS3 (the name of the wah will be in the scribble strip there) to toggle it so it matches the position of the expression pedal.

There is another setting that affects the Instant Commands and PCs. It's under Global Settings>MIDI/Tempo>Duplicate PC Send. If you have it set to on, all the Instant Command PCs will send when change snapshots regardless of what you have in the current snapshot. If you have it off, only those PCs that are different from the snapshot you're coming from will be sent. I've been controlling two Strymon pedals with my Helix for a long time now, and I've never had any issues with this sort of stuff. It just has always worked correctly.

It's already available, and has been for a few weeks: https://line6.com/software/readeula.html?rid=8237

It has an internal auto-sensing switching power supply that will work at any voltage between the range of 110 - 240V.

Seems like they've been overnighting the new units to people when possible. I assume for some international customers, that's not necessarily possible. I think Line 6 is issuing RMAs and shipping labels to get the broken units back. Given the nature of this flaw, I suspect this is being covered by the factory making the units, so they probably need the broken ones back.

Well, it will be same software editor, HX Edit, for the entire platform. They are in the midst of beta testing it with the HX Effects now. All of effects that are in the HX are in the Helix, and vice versa. All the parameters are the same, they sound the same - it’s the same codebase.
-
Full HX Edit support should be available in June. As far as a dedicated forum, I guess I don't understand why that would be a big deal. There is significant enough overlap between the Helix and the HX, that there's many topic that apply to all devices in the platform.

Changed Computers - No More PodFarm 1 for UX1
phil_m replied to ivanpierce's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
You can download it directly here: https://line6.com/software/index.html Just select POD Farm from the middle pulldown menu. If you're using Windows, Windows 7 is the last Windows version for which there was PF1 support. So you'll have to put Windows 7 in the last pulldown. -
The memory isn't really the issue. It's more a matter of the software architecture. One thing is an embedded firmware processor like this isn't a modular system like a PC or a tablet where you can just add more storage. The chips are purchased as complete packages, and it's kind of like you get what you get. They don't sell memory upgrades to SHARC chips. If you look at all the SHARC-based processors out there, or even the new Boss GT-1000 (which isn't SHARC-based, but something similar), they all have relatively short loop lengths. The Headrush, which has 20 minutes of looping capability, but that's an ARM-based processor, which ends up having other significant limitations on other, (I'd say) more important things.

I honestly don't think anyone would bat an eye if you recorded with that... It sounds fine to me.

I think people are thinking of polyphonic pitch shifting like the Digitech Drop... And along the lines of what you said, that's shifting everything by the same interval, not really harmonizing anything. True polyphonic smart harmonization, yeah, that would be quite the feat.

If you put a wah block in in Signal Flow view, it's automatically set up so that EXP1 controls the sweep and auto-engages the block. You can select something else in Signal Flow view to control the bypass if you want. For a Volume block, you probably don't want to have it assigned to any bypass. Again, load the block in Signal Flow view, and you don't have to have it assigned to a switch.

The tone stacks on Mesa amps are notoriously highly interactive, meaning the effect one knob has on the signal can vary depending on where the other ones are set. But to answer your question, if you're not getting what you want from the on-board EQ, sure, add an EQ block in your chain to shape your tone how you want it.
-
Apart from putting both of the H9's in the same stereo loop, I don't think there's any other way to do it. If you do that, you could but each of the other pedals in their own mono loops and put them anywhere you want in the chain.

HX Effects send / return loops - with analogue effects
phil_m replied to conradkriel's topic in Helix
The HX's FX loops do indeed add a layer a D/A-A/D conversion, but I doubt that's what you're actually hearing. More likely you're hearing differences because of different input and output impedances and/or buffers. This is especially true if you had those pedals first in your chain before. The converters used in the HX FX are very good (same ones used in the Axe FX, for instance). The fact that the loops are digital means you can separate them and place them anywhere in the signal chain, independently from each other. And, yes, if you're using the 4CM, true bypass isn't an option. -
UX2 or microphone recording out of tune ?
phil_m replied to Retronax's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
I believe the default sample rate for all those is 44.1 kHz, and probably the default sample rate for the UX2 driver is 48 kHz. Try opening up the Line 6 Audio-MIDI Devices dialog box in the Control Panel in Windows, and you should be able to change it there. It should look something like this (varies a little depending on what version of Windows you're using).- 6 replies

Sounds like you have a sample rate mismatch somewhere. What DAW are you using?- 6 replies

Sounds like a faulty or possibly dirty optical underneath the pedal. I would exchange it for another if you're still able to.
-
Open up a support ticket. Joystick failures are typically a cracked cold solder joint underneath the knob. Line 6 should take care of it for you.
-
Do you think there will be a Firmware update before NAMM
phil_m replied to Lachdanan0121's topic in Helix
I don't think this is true... -
Open up a support ticket and Line 6 will send you another one. The ones that were produced with this particular fault will all break eventually. They should be getting all cleared out, but there's probably some more out there yet. Although, I'm not clear that you're describing the same sort of thing in your post. Did the pedal break or not? For this particular failure, the metal shears off. If the pedal is simply tight, that may be a matter of the tension needing adjusted.
-
If you're getting no signal at all, it doesn't really sound like a reception issue. Do you have the Auto-Sleep function on the transmitter on? It sounds like it's perhaps going into sleep mode and not waking up. Are you running the latest firmware?
-
The status of it? It's not available yet. It will be out soon.
-
Another vote for re-installing the update. Did you create a backup prior to updating? If not, I would do that, and back up your setlists individually just in case. If you're still having an issue after running the update, I'd try resetting the unit by holding footswitches 9&10 while powering up. Just to be clear, THIS WILL ERASE ALL YOUR PRESETS AND IRs, so don't do it unless you have a backup ready to send to the unit.
