  1. You can have up to six Instant Commands per preset, and each of those can be changed in certain ways per snapshot. If you assign an Instant Command, that assignment will apply to the whole preset, but, like I said, you can still change things with it per snapshot. If you're only dealing with PCs, it's actually really straightforward. You need one Instant Command for each device you're wanting to send a PC to (generally you'd want it so each one was being sent on its own channel). For example, I have the Strymon Mobius and Strymon BigSky connected to my Helix (the HX would be the same), and I have Instant Command 1 set to be a PC message on Channel 1 and Instant Command 2 set to be a PC message on channel 2. In Snapshot 1, I might want PC2 for the Mobius and PC10 for the BigSky. I just go and set those values in that snapshot. For Snapshot 2, let's say I want to bring up something different on the Mobius but leave the BigSky alone. I would just go change the value of the PC in Instant Command 1 in Snapshot 2 to PC8 (or whatever). Now when I go to Snapshot 2 from Snapshot 1, only the PC message for the Mobius should be shot out (I believe). I say "I believe" because there is one thing I'm not sure about in regards to the HX. On the Helix, there's a "Duplicate PC" parameter in Global Settings menu that when off (the default), it makes it so the Helix only sends out PC messages assigned as Instant Commands when changing snapshots if the value is different compared to the snapshot it was coming from. So in that example I gave, only one PC would be sent when changing from Snapshot 1 to 2. If, however, the Duplicate PC parameter was set to on, both PCs for both pedals would be shot out. If you're controlling something like the H9, it probably would not be a big if it received the same PC again. It would just reload the current preset. I have read one report saying that on the HX, the behavior is just that it always sends all PCs regardless if they're duplicates or not, but I don't have an HX myself yet, so I can't confirm that.
  2. Sorry... I have to confess that I didn't watch your video the whole way through the first time. Have you tried running the MIDI monitor without having Ableton open? I kind of suspect that what you're talking about might have to do with MIDI over USB and Ableton mirroring commands it's receiving. I vaguely remember reading about someone else running into this.
  3. Yes, the pedal position should be remembered when you have it set to global. What expression pedal are you using? Are you sure you're setting the EXP2 parameter and not EXP1? I know that's a simple thing, but, hey, sometimes it happens...

Dude, this is like your sixth thread on this topic... People have been trying to help you, and you generally have not been responding to their comments. There are not "thousands of complaints". There are thousands of happy users, I'm sure. Continually spamming the board isn't going to change anything. If you literally put 60 hours into it, and aren't getting anywhere, I think it's safe to assume that something is either wrong with your setup or even perhaps the Helix you're using. If you really want solutions, you need to give more details about how you're using the Helix, what sounds you're hoping to get, and what guitar(s) you're using. People are more than willing to help.
  5. The thing to realize with assigning CCs to Instant Commands is that when you switch snapshots, the value that you have set in each snapshot for each CC is being shot out. So you mentioned in the video that a certain CC is assigned to a certain snapshot... That's not really how it works. That CC is set for that Instant Command for the entire preset. You need to go set a specific value for that CC in each snapshot then.
  6. Have you tried adjusting the Sag and Bias on these amp models? It seems some of that looseness might be related to those settings.
  7. Right now, if you create a backup, you can choose to restore only IRs from it if you want. Just uncheck Presets and Global Settings after hitting "Restore from backup".
  8. Do you have the distortion blocks as the first thing in your chain? Some of them will lower the input impedance if you have it set to Auto. I'm not sure if the RAT model does that or not, but I suppose it would be worth checking.
  9. They weren't working for me earlier in the day, but they should be fixed now... Do you see the links here? https://shop.line6.com/services/helix-service-plus/
  10. I honestly don't know... It seems to me that comparing it to another modeler is rather pointless, as the real test would be comparing it to what happens with the real amp and the real pedal. I have certainly heard real distortion pedals exhibit that sort of squelching sound in the real world. I mean, not every combination is going to work.
  11. I would trust the accuracy of Helix's tuner before I trusted intonation to be perfect...
  12. I find the RAT, modeled and the real thing, to be a very fizzy pedal to begin with... Especially with filter knob at 0. So I'm not sure that what you're hearing is all that unexpected. Have you tried any of the other drive pedals? I find the Klon model (Minotaur) works well in front of nearly everything.
  13. With EHX pedals, the expression jack can use either a standard TRS expression pedal connection or a CV source (which the Helix has). You just need to use a TS cable with CV. Once you have a cable connected from the Helix's CV jack to the Muff's EXP jack, you can go into the Command Center on the Helix and set it up so the CV jack is tied to the either the Helix's on-board expression pedal, an external expression pedal, or a footswitch.
  14. Does whatever version of Muff you’re using have an expression pedal input?
  15. You can roll back to the previous firmware using Line 6 Updater if you want. Do you have any presets that you've created and saved on the unit yet? If not, before you rollback, I would try doing a factory reset. To do that, you just hold down the two lower right hand footswitches (the Tap and one to the left of it) while powering up. This will unfortunately delete any presets you've created and saved. But it might be worth trying.
  16. So are you saying that the HX Effects is crashing when you connect it to HX Edit still? Have you opened a support ticket? https://line6.com/support/tickets/add.html
  17. You'll most likely have more luck with the Pre models. Sometime the full amp models will work depending on the amp models, but the sort of application you're talking about is really what the Pre models are there for.
  18. I wouldn't recommend using a cab model while going into a real guitar cab...
  19. The Helix is like anything else. The more you use it, and the more familiar you become with it, the easier you'll find it to use. If you're struggling with tones sounding harsh, I'd say the main questions are what are you playing the Helix through (which is the issue perhaps a majority of the time), and what amp and cab models are you using. You may want to take some time and watch some of Jason Sadite's video here: Beyond that, there are plenty of people who want to help here. But if you come out of the gate with a combative attitude, it's not going get you very far.
  20. Are you using the Pre models or the full amp models? I would start with the Pre models if you're going into an effects return.
  21. Yes, you can do that. I would suggest reversing the pedal's polarity under Global Settings>Pedals. That way the Wait parameter for the Auto-Engage functionality will work as intended. So with the polarity reversed, 0% would be at the toe, and 100% would be at the heel. You would probably want the position for the bypass to be between 1 and 5%. You would also need to go and reverse the Min and Max settings for whatever parameter you're controlling the pedal.
  22. Just to clarify my original statement, I'm not saying that manuals shouldn't exist, but rather that is something is designed well, the manual should be more of last resort sort of thing instead something you have to look at in order to understand how to even begin. Think of a modern car... They're highly engineered things, and have all sorts of stuff you can do, but I've never driven a car where I have to consult the owner's manual just to know how to start it and start driving. That's because those sorts of functions are widely understood, and carmakers know how to make them intuitive. I would venture that most people who own cars haven't read the manual all the way through, and if they do look at it, it's to look up some specific piece of information. That's really how most people use manuals now.
  23. If you have it set to Recall, if you make changes in, say, Snapshot 1 and then go to Snapshot 2, the changes you made in Snapshot 1 are automatically saved if you go back to Snapshot 1. You still have to re-save the preset if you want those changes to be saved with the preset. If you have it set to Discard, any changes you make in a snapshot are lost as soon as you leave that snapshot unless to save the preset. It comes into play more in playing live than elsewhere, although, I like having it set to Recall while editing at home, too. But playing live, it might be confusing if you make changes in a snapshot and then have those changes remain if you leave and come back to a snapshot.
  24. There's no way to disable it, really. Of course, if you don't use note values for time-based parameters, it will have no effect. If you are still manually setting a BPM, it will. You can minimize its effect by setting the Tempo Select parameter in Global Settings>MIDI/Tempo to "Per Snapshot" and setting the Snapshot Edits parameter under Global Settings>Preferences to "Discard". That way if you do happen to bump it, it would only affect the snapshot you were currently in and would be forgotten as soon as you went to another snapshot.
