  1. Yeah, it should be OK. Just make sure you have the inputs and outputs on the Space set to line level (you'd also want the outputs on the Stomp set to line level). If you leave things at instrument level, the Powercab wouldn't get very loud.
  2. Yeah, the issue is, as stated above, that you’re using a mono FX Loop block rather than the stereo loop. Change the FX Loop block to FX Loop 1/2 and you should be good to go.
  3. Well, I know the answers that Eric Klein, the guy who was/is actually responsible for making the design decisions on the product has said, so I think that's pretty close to knowing the reason why. Someone mentioned this earlier, but I do think that part of it early on was related to the graphics engine and them not liking the way the meters would perform back then. The refresh rate is much faster now, so having useful meters on the display would be more doable now.
  4. I missed that you were using the Rack... Hold down ENC1 and ENC6 while powering up (the knobs under the screen) to enter Update Mode.
  5. Well, there's no reason not to go to the newest firmware, but just try running Updater again. If you hold FS6 and FS12 while powering up, you can force the Helix into update mode. If Updater is having trouble seeing the Helix, try a different USB port and/or cable.
  6. I can see from your screenshot that your Helix is running the 2.21 firmware. That’s a few versions behind. It needs to be updated to at least 2.71 for you to access the Marketplace presets. You should really just update to the latest firmware, though - 2.82. Instructions on how to update can be found here:
  7. I highly doubt Line 6 is going to release a 64-bit version of Gearbox. The X3 Live was discontinued almost 10 years ago now. The Catalina release has made life difficult for people who depend on older 32-bit apps.
  8. Have you installed the drivers? If you haven't installed HX Edit, you'd want to do that, as the drivers you need will come along with that.
  9. Set MIDI Over USB to Off in Global Settings.
  10. You can have two DT amps or two Powercab connected via L6 Link, but not one of each. It's just a limitation of the L6 Link implementation.
  11. Have you opened a support ticket about this? This isn't the expected behavior, and sounds like it could be a hardware issue.
  12. With a pedal plugged into the EXP2 jack, the onboard expression pedal should always be EXP1, so this behavior you're explaining is pretty weird. Are you using a TS cable with the Ernie Ball pedal?
  13. You could set up FS4 or FS5 to control the Looper, but it would only be as a 1-Switch Looper. If you want to use the looper as a multi-switch looper, you'd need to use a MIDI controller.
  14. Well, there's no such producr as a "Helix LTE Ultra", so I'm going to assume you're just talking about the Helix LT... The LT and the Floor sound exactly the same. First, I'd say without having both units in front of you to actually compare, basing comparisons entirely on your memory is shaky. Your brain does a very bad job at recalling specific sounds even after a few seconds, so after a few months or so, all bets are off. The other thing I'd say is that there are a number of Global Settings that affect the way the units sound, so it's entirely possible that some of those are different between the two units (although, the Global Settings should come through when you restore from backup). Did you do a factory reset prior to loading your backup?
  15. I suspected it was the Vintage Digital delay. If you have the Bit Depth parameter set to a lower value, you can induce digital clipping in the repeats, which would sound like clicking. You counteract that by turning up the Headroom parameter.
  16. What delay model are you using?

Sorry, I’m not sure I understand what you’re asking... I have an HSS Strat - an American Deluxe Fat Strat to be precise. Are you asking for a preset that works well with that pickup configuration?
  18. You don't need to drag and drop anything. Well, you can't, as it won't work. You just need to select 1024 or 2048 under where it says "Mono". You insert the IR block in a preset just like any other block. There are two types to choose from - 1024 or 2048 sample. Once you choose that, you can select the specific IR using the slider. It should look like this:
  19. All those meters in a studio, but in the end everything gets bricked-walled to -14 LUFS no matter what... :-)
  20. I'm wondering if this isn't so much a bug but rather just a side-effect of doing this sort of re-amping completely in the digital realm. I just tried this in Reaper on Windows 10, and I get a slight negative offset for the re-amped track as well. I think what's happening is that the driver is telling the DAW to compensate for latency from the converters, but in this case the converters aren't coming into play since the input for the preset is coming over USB. I don't know that there would be anything in the driver that would be able to tell the DAW what input the Helix is actually using for any given preset, so it may just be something that you have to correct manually by sliding the track over.
  21. The gain staging of overdrive and distortion blocks copies whatever the modeled pedals do in real life. If a pedal gives you a 10db boost in the real world, you'll be able to get that 10dB boost from the model. I mean, this is pretty easy to verify for yourself if you have actual copies of the real pedals. As far the amp models, the dynamic range on the output side is scaled back somewhat so the range of output levels is actually not a dramatic as the real thing. I wouldn't say most of the blocks have an "ideal" input level. Obviously, stompboxes are designed for instrument level signals, and you wouldn't typically put something like a Tubescreamer in an effects loop. But pretty much all of the other blocks will work anywhere in the chain. The Headroom parameter will adjust the level of saturation that you hear from some of them.
  22. The Stomp firmware has to be 2.70 or higher for it to work. You need to update the firmware.
  23. This video does a good job at explaining it:
