  1. Yes, I think the modeling sounds quite a bit brighter with new strings compared to old one. It makes sense considering that unlike magnetic pickups, the piezos work by having direct contact with the strings.
  2. Before you buy anything I'd open up a support ticket with Line 6. They may be able to help you out.
  3. Yeah, I’m saying that’s not quite how the Legacy reverbs work in the Helix. It’s not really how they work in the HD series either, fwiw. The Legacy reverbs behave the same way as the Stereo HX reverbs as far as the audio processing.
  4. I don't think any of those diagrams completely represent what's happening with the stereo effects in the Helix. The one labeled "Stereo THRU/Stereo FX Block" is closest. The difference would be the mix control. There's only one, so you can't control the mix for the left and right side independently.
  5. They maintain stereo separation on the dry side, but remember stereo processing doesn't mean that each side is processed on it's own. If you, for example, mute the right side going into a reverb block, there will still be wet output from the left and right sides.
  6. It will work, but here are the caveats: Contain 9 or fewer blocks Not contain any Amp+Cab, Amp, Preamp, or Cab blocks Contain no more than one Split and Merge block Fit within one path worth of DSP processing
  7. No, the Helix Control will only work with the Helix Rack.
  8. There won't be a 64 bit VST version released if that's what you're asking.
  9. Like you mentioned, the whole point of the dry signal, is that it's the unaltered signal from your guitar so you can use it for re-amping. You can always add gain after recording, but you can't really remove it (not without decreasing the S/N ratio, anyway). If you want the signal to be louder in your DAW, there's a bunch of ways to do it. I think all DAWs have a normalize function that will raise the level (just don't raise it all the way to 0.0dB).
  10. If you run Line 6 Monkey with your UX2 connected, it should give you the links for the software that you have a license for. The license is to your UX2.
  11. Some are mono, some aren’t. All the Legacy compressor and drivers are mono. All of the Legacy reverbs are stereo. Many of the Legacy modulations and delays are stereo.
  12. Do you have it connected to a computer via USB? Even then, though, there shouldn't be any noise passing through with the PC's volume knob turned down. I just turned my 112 PC+ on, and it's dead quiet even if I turn the volume knob all the way up (without anything connected). Even with the Helix connected via L6 Link, it is pretty quiet. It certainly sounds like yours may have a hardware issue.
  13. I suspect this is part of the issue, if not the whole issue. Why not just use the Line 6 ASIO driver? The tone you hear when you record into Reaper should sound exactly the same when you play it back.
  14. The Aux In is a low impedance input in addition to being line level. It shouldn't be a problem with a wireless system as the output of the wireless receiver is buffered and can drive a low impedance input. It's really only an issue when plugging typical high impedance passive pickups directly into the jacks.
  15. 15A at 120V is 1800W, so yeah, the power strip can handle the LT and a lot more.
  16. These are primarily user forums. The Knowledge Base is run by Line 6, and I think they kind of see it as a somewhat informal site for information that might be useful to someone. I'm not sure if the forum software allows for better searching. Yours is kind of an odd post... You're complaining about something you ultimately say you don't need at the end of the post.
  17. I don't think you'll be able to get GearBox running on a newer system, as it's been dead for about 10 years now. Do you still have the GuitarPort? If so, I'd suggest opening up a support ticket: https://line6.com/support/tickets/add.html If you no longer have the hardware, there's probably nothing you can do as the GearBox license was tied to the hardware.
  18. Did you buy GearBox on its own or did it come with hardware?
  19. Just to be clear, are you using the downloaded Mac drivers or the Core Audio driver?
  20. An acoustic amp is really designed to be like a PA in a combo amp style box. They typically have a tweeter, and they're kind of FRFR-ish. Modeling something like that is kind of redundant, as you'd likely be plugging the Helix into an FRFR system anyway. The Helix works very well as an acoustic guitar processor. No amp model is necessary. You might want to look at using an acoustic IR to give your acoustic a more mic'ed up sound, but if you like the sound of your acoustic's pickup system, that's not even necessary. Personally, I find a less is more works best with acoustic tones. I may apply a little EQ and some reverb. Some people like to add some compression and chorus, but it's all very easy to do with the Helix.
  21. If this is true, you're probably the only person on the planet who can say that... ;-)
  22. Here's what it looks like using a 1/4" as the output and running that back in through a Return. It looks like it's perfectly aligned to me.
  23. I think I'm getting what you're saying now, and I just tried a quick test in Reaper in my WIndows 10 machine. It looks like the latency is being reported properly in the ASIO driver. I just created a hardware Send in Reaper from one of the USB outs, and the re-recorded track is actually ahead of the original track by about 90 samples. So in this case Reaper is compensating for a conversion that's not actually happening.
  24. This wouldn't be a driver issue, though... This would be DAW specific.
