  1. Hi Andres, The error code seems to indicate you have simply pushed your HX Stomp beyond its DSP capability. The HX Stomp is limited to 6 blocks, but some blocks require more DSP power than others. Usually when you have reached the limit of DSP power, then certain items are "greyed out" and no longer available to use. I can't see that in your Screenshot, but delete one of the delays and have everything on one path - see if that fixes it. Hoe this helps/makes sense
  2. I think the OP means that after the firmware update ALL the presets are labeled "New Preset" meaning the non of the Factory Preset have been load in there. If it is simply the Global setting - great, but you would have thought the OP had RTFM before posting.
  3. Hi Paul, Thanks for your input on that particular issue, although it is a technique that I, and others, have posted about many, many times in this forum. There has been point by point instructions for both for PC and Mac users, covering all models of the Helix family. It appears that most people who encounter any sort of problem during an update simple run off to the internet forums screaming "the new Line 6 firmware update bricked my Helix", with ever bothering to READ THE INSTALLATION NOTES! Plus out of every one of those situations, I have yet to see any where a software installation has actually destroyed the hardware. Like all computer systems, if it don't work, turn it off, reset and re-install. Then it seems those same people cannot even be bothered to search these threads for this particular solution of doing a "local file" update. It's not a secret, it is well documented, because even in 2020 there are still places where internet connections aren't great and you may need to do it this way -- the option is there. Once more it becomes a situation of them whining and moaning about "why is it all so complicated?" When in fact - It's not - I, along with many others, have be updating my Helix for five years without this nonsense, possibly because we all read study and inwardly digest ALL the information provided about how to update.. Sometimes I truly start to despair about this stuff and say that I will ignore the next cry for assistance, but along with several other stalwart forum users we keep at it. Even gently prodding people in the right direction doesn't seem to make any difference - they all want to be spoon fed. Ye gods, I fear for the sanity of some of the regular contributors on here when we are finally faced with version THREE update. Hopefully anyone who comes across your post will take heart and follow your advice, because they seem to have ignored all the others, and you have also provided pictures and they are worth a thousand words. Thank you. Regards
  4. Probably a glitch after updating your Firmware. As you state your HX Stomp is brand new, you probably don’t have any of your own presets that need to be backed up. You probably just need to perform a factory reset to get thing back on track. One more thing - ensure that your HX Edit application is on the same version number as your Stomp. Here are the reset options. HX Stomp Button Combination Description All 3 Footswitches Clears all presets/IRs FS1+2 Resets presets and IRs FS 2+3 Factory restore (globals, presets, IRs To use Reset Options: Power off the HX Stomp Hold the desired button combination Power on the HX Stomp Release the button combination Hope this helps/makes sense.
  5. O.K. Maybe this. https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/audio-midi-setup/ams7c093f372/3.3/mac/10.14 Hope the helps/makes sense
  6. Hi, The Sweetwater website does the whole range of HX products with the “House of Worship” bundle. As noted by “phil_m” in his post above, your HX Stomp cannot load any presets with more than 6 blocks. I’m unsure how the access you have to worshiptutorials.com differentiates between what specific bundle you can access. If you inadvertently download preset made for the LT, Floor or Rack units they will load into HX Native without issue, because HXN can process all the blocks. If you download any preset which will load into Native simply check the amount of blocks it uses - more than 6 it will not transfer to your hardware. As Phil said, you can turn on the Stomp Compatibility Mode in the Settings menu. It basically seems that you have managed to download patches not designed for you product. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  7. Hi, Please ensure that your version of HX Edit matches the version number of your Firmware. It is not unknown to have 2 copies of the software on your computer and using the wrong one can cause problems. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  8. Buy some studio quality reference headphones. Dr. Dre are designer nonsense and not the right thing to be using for this equipment. Please tell us that you don't also use the speakers built into your computer to check the audio when you aren't using the Beats? Tools to do the job.
  9. If you have set up the Aggregate Device and configured it to use your built in Microphone and HX Stomp, have you also set the Aggregate Device as the Sound output of your Mac. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202000 Hope the helps/makes sense
  10. Sorry, but it isn’t very clear what exactly happened. Are you saying that now you have managed to update your LT, but your copy of HX Edit doesn’t communicate with it. I stated in the earlier post that you must ensure that your version of HX Edit and the firmware revision numbers are the same. Please double check, and if necessary, download the correct version of HX Edit. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  11. Well, if you are intent on becoming a bedroom producer you have to start somewhere - try here for freebies. https://bedroomproducersblog.com/free-vst-plugins/ Plus a couple more videos you might want to check out - Here is Jason doing the re- amp thing with Reaper and then Cubase. Hope this helps/makes sense
  12. Hey, lots of users asked for a visual indication of clipping and that’s what they got, probably due to the limited amount of space on that display screen. Now, if you regard that as “barely noticeable”, then maybe your ears will let you know when clipping occurs. Clipping is not a pleasant noise! ;-)
  13. Hi again, I would suggest the usual suspects for this, eg: a little light compression, slight chorus, and reverb to suit would work on both vox and ac guitar. Use the reverb to place them both in the same “physical space” or go completely mad if you wish. The vocal on the original track also has a bit of delay on it, that you might want to add carefully to some bits, example, turn up the send on the last word in verse. Experiment, you have nothing to lose (always work on a copy!) I’m not sure what sort of finalising and/or mastering tools are available in Reason, but you could download the 10 day free trial version of Ozone from Izotope. It is designed to optimise your final mix. You can have it “listen” to your track and give you a suggestion of setting to use. Get it here: https://www.izotope.com/en/products/ozone.html and while you are there you can grab a free copy of the vocal doubler free plugin and play around with you voice. https://www.izotope.com/en/products/free-audio-plug-ins.html If that is too daunting, put an EQ and compressor/limiter across the stereo output channel and adjust to suit. Hope this helps/makes sense. EDIT: Take 15 minutes to watch/study this
  14. Hi, You don’t mention if you are using a Mac or Windows PC to hook up to your Helix, but the procedure should be the same for either. Way back at the dawn of time, when the Helix arrived in our time space continuum, there was no such thing as HX Edit. Rather confusingly to communicate with the hardware box from your computer, you needed to use the software librarian/edit program which was also named Helix. Actually I was named Helix app and it is still available in the free downloads section from the menu at the top of this page. O.K. go to the "DOWNLOADS" menu at the top of this page and from "-ALL HARDWARE-" select HELIX then from the "-ALL SOFTWARE-" select “HX EDIT”, now select your Mac/PC Operating System from under the "-ALL OS-" tab, then click “GO”. From the next page scroll right down the page until you find Helix Application v1.04 (released 2/16/16) and click the big blue button which says “GET DOWNLOAD”. On completion run the .exe or dmg file to install the software. Once installed you should run the “Helix.app” while connected to your hardware Helix via USB. If there are any presets that you wish to keep then they need to be backed up using “Helix.app” before updating the Firmware. If there is nothing that you wish to save (backup) from the pre-owned hardware you could skip this hassle and then proceed to next step of updating to the latest Firmware. Note: version 2.80 firmware introduced a major change to the Core operating system in the Helix. You might be able to jump right up to the latest version 2.92, but I would probably jump through the hoops of the core update at 2.8 first. If you have been trying to communicate with your hardware using any other HX Edit software previously, please delete it. Mismatched versions can cause conflict - ensure your firmware number and Edit versions are the same. Hope this helps/makes sense
  15. Well, way back in January this year, someone over on TGP made a comment about the POD Go and it’s FX block layout. They were saying something along the lines of - in the POD, things like volume and amp blocks are fixed, although, you can select a delay effect that you want, but the delay block position is fixed. A reply to that comment pointed out that it was very similar to the system which has been used by BOSS for a very long time, e.g. from the GT-10 right up to the GT-1000. As noted by the post from “brue58ski”, above, it looks to me that this Core unit is following along that route. As something that seems to be a part built pedal board it might possibly be more a rival to POD Go than the HX Stomp. Mmm... at that price point, maybe not.
  16. It may not be what you want, but the easiest and fastest way to solve this issue of vocals is to:- Connect your monitors to the 1/4 " jacks on the Helix (even better XLR) Connect Helix to Mac via USB Connect Condenser Mic to Helix and apply phantom Power Open Logic Pro X and select Helix your audio device for in and out Record vocal End of problem and you have 8 channels of digital audio available from the Helix It's not complicated and it does precisely what you want to achieve. What I can never understand is why people insist on taking a digital signal from the Helix, convert into audio then back to digital through another interface. It's all unnecessary stages of AD/DA conversion..
  17. Hi Kid, The best way to deal with that would be to get an MP3 version of the audio you want to use as a guide, and load that as a track in Reaper. Then you play that track back using it as a reference while recording your other accompanying (software) instruments on other tracks. When you have your version how you want it, delete the guide audio from the project an print your final stereo mix to disc as whatever file type you require, eg. wav, aiff, MP3. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  18. No - it has to be in your opinion. This has to be your decision. Opinions are like a$$holes - everybody has one!
  19. Hi Charles, Let’s try this. First, turn on the power to your HX Stomp while pressing and holding down the "Page >" button while powering up will put the HX Stomp into update mode. This update mode is helpful if the update is interrupted, and the HX Stomp will not boot properly. O.K. go to the "DOWNLOADS" menu at the top of this page and from "-ALL HARDWARE-" select HX STOMP, then leave the "-ALL SOFTWARE-" as is, now select your PC Operating System from under the "-ALL OS-" tab. From the next page you can select the Firmware 2.92 Flash Memory for your HX Stomp, then below that you will need the HX Edit 2.92. Now scroll further down the page a get the Line 6 Updater version 1.9. Download all these bits to your PC. Install HX Edit (including the required drivers) and if you have made any presets that you wish to keep then they need to be backed up using HX Edit before updating the Firmware. If everything if fine then proceed to next step. Ensure that HX Edit is closed and that you have your HX Stomp connected to your PC by USB cable (do not use a hub) and launch the Updater Utility and select "Offline Mode". Your HX Stomp and current firmware version should show in the window, click on the dark green coloured band and you should now have the option to select a local file - point it at the Flash Memory file that you down loaded previously and let it get on with the update. Hope this helps/makes sense ———————————————————- ———————————————————- Hola charles Intentemos esto.
  20. Hi, As I noted in the original comment, the colours appear to have been chosen by Line 6 to tie in with what appears to be a common theme across the HX product range. When using performance mode on your LT the colours indicate whatever effect is chosen, eg: green for a delay, but the LED ring on the footswitch can be whatever you want to use.Whether it is feasible to modify the colour of the block shown in “Performance Mode” in any firmware update remains a total unknown. Line 6 don’t like to reveal too much before it happens. IIRC, there was a comment somewhere from Digital Igloo, (Eric Klein - Line 6 Chief Product Design Architect), where he explained the reasoning behind how the Helix development team decided on those particular colour combinations. I will attempt a trawl of the Internet to see if I can find that information. If I do, I will post it here. I have been using a Helix floor model for 5 years, and those units don’t have that performance feature, so I have got used to what each icon colour block represents and I have customisable “scribble strips” on the footswitches that don’t change colour, but the LED rings can be whatever. Maybe the best idea is to get used to it. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  21. I thought this question had been answered on here previously, but it still keeps on cropping up. For what should be the definitive reply to this, I will refer you to the comment posted by Digital Igloo (Eric Klein - Line 6 Chief Product Designer) in this old thread. Plus here is an article which specifically mentions the 3 different impedances of the DT770 headphones. https://www.headphonesty.com/2019/04/headphone-impedance-demystified/ Hope this helps/makes sense.
  22. Hi Titch, From reading your posts, it appears you have only had your HX Stomp for a few days. Don’t you think you are worrying about something unnecessarily. Assuming you bought the HX Stomp brand new, it will be guaranteed for 12 months. Plus the clue is in the name - it’s designed to be jumped on, so it must be reasonably rugged. Failing that, should disaster strike at any of the part of your box of tricks, then E & M Electronics in Milton Keynes are the official U.K. Service Centre. Now, wouldn’t it be better to stop fretting about nothing and get fretting on your guitar and the Stomp. Have fun.
  23. I have just seen your other post in the HX Stomp FAQ section and realise that English is not your first language - here are the installation notes translated via GOOGLE: PASO 1: Actualización de HX Edit a 2.92 (suponiendo que aún no lo haya hecho) Inicie sesión en line6.com, descargue e instale HX Edit 2.90: macOS: https://line6.com/software/readeula.html?rid=9732 Windows 7/8/10: https://line6.com/software/readeula.html?rid=9731 PASO 2: Actualización del firmware Helix / HX a 2.92 Si tiene Helix Rack / Control, apague Helix Control. Hope this helps/makes sense. Espero que esto te ayude y tenga sentido.
  24. In the post above from “rd2rk”, he has answered the question and given you the solution to the issue. It should be very clear. Note: When performing an update to the firmware YOU MUST READ AND FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS EXACTLY. IMPORTANT! Carefully read and follow the update instructions below. If you don't—and then run to the forums asking why it's not working—the interwebs will make fun of you. If you don’t do this then the only person to blame is you.
  25. No problem, I simply wanted to make you aware of how many others are asking for the same thing. I am a little confused by your comment, “the need to have the pedalboard connected every time I want to tweak tone”. Tone tweaking is more usually done on the hardware unit, or by using HX Edit over USB - (along with Edit being a librarian app for your presets), even though HXN does do “drag and drop” on presets. Plus you will still need to hook up to your floor unit to get your “tone tweaks” back out into the hardware if you intend to use them in a live situation. HX Native tone manipulation is generally applied to a dry guitar (or whatever other) signal, in a similar way to re-amping, it’s not going to be much use on a recorded signal already full of fx. I think that might be a bit more than a small tone tweak. Although, I have probably misunderstood your intention. I have generally have several instances of HX Native running in Logic ProX across various tracks, but my Helix floor is almost always connected via USB to capture the original dry signal, along with the processed audio in as a guide, and my Tannoys are plugged in the Helix XLR output for monitor duties. I’m very used to the way that works for me as a studio rat. Everyone has a different way of working, so I guess it all depends on your workflow, and what interface you’re using for the guitar/bass, etc. Good luck in your search for copy of Native.
