Hi. There should have been a Hex Wrench/Allen Key in the box when you bought your helix. Use that adjust the tension, through small aperture on the right hand side panel, until it works as what seems fine for you. If you really want to, you could attempt the full service routine - at your own risk and only advisable if your helix is out of warranty ( I guess yours is still covered?) Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, Well, it looks like you had already figured this out. If you have your Zoia patched into a stereo FX Send/Return loop, that’s as far as it goes, simply because of the fact that your Zoia only has 2 jack sockets available for getting signals in and out of the box of tricks. Same goes for the Helix - it’s physically restricted by the numbers of sockets. Once they’ve been used that’s it, but it depends what you daisy chain into the stuff in the send/return loop. For example, depending I what I require at the time, I can have a SEND -> DittoX4 Looper -> Zoom MS-70CDR -> Yamaha SPX 90 -> RETURN . I know you can do lots of stuff with the Zoia, and as far as I’m aware, it has a couple of Fuzz and Overdrive blocks, but really I would be tempted to use it for all the sonic duties that your Helix can’t provide. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi there, I realise that you are probably frustrated by this problem, but when you're asking for assistance in the forum, it's a really good idea to give as much information about your computer, operating system and anything else that will help us to help you. Stating that you are "getting an error message" is not enough, you should say exactly what the error message is as there are many different ones. Anyhow, let's see if we can get your HXFX box to work as a guitar processor and not a paper weight. I will suggest that you follow these instructions. First go to the "DOWNLOADS" menu at the top of this page and from "-ALL HARDWARE-" select HX Effects, then leave the "-ALL SOFTWARE-" as it is, now select your PC or Mac OSX from under the "-ALL OS-" tab. Now click the “GO” button. From the next page you can select HX Edit 2.92 for your HX Effects, then below that you will also need the Firmware 2.92 Flash Memory. Now scroll right the way down the page where you will find Line 6 Updater version 1.9. Download all these items to your PC or Mac. Ensure that any version of HX Edit that you may have is closed, and that you have your HX Effects connected to your PC or Mac by USB cable (DO NOT USE A HUB}, then hold down “Page >” while turning the power on. You may see a blank screen, but keep going. Now, launch the Updater Utility and select "Offline Mode". YourHX Effects and current firmware version should now show in the window, click on the dark green coloured band and you should now have the option to select a local file - point it at the Flash Memory file you downloaded to your computer and then let it get on with the update. When it completes you can install the new HX Edit v.2.92 and you should be good to go. This information is supplied in good faith and no guarantee is given or implied - should this not succeed, I suggest you raise a ticket with Customer Support. Hope this helps/makes sense - good luck.

Hi mkmona04, You have just asked a question in a thread that is 3 years old. Luckily I spotted your post or you could have been a long while waiting for a reply from the guy who mentioned Blackstar Club 40. It seems that the discussion was about hooking up via the four cable method, often referred to as 4CM. You can find the instructions and diagram of how to connect your POD Go and Club 40 on page 7 of the POD Go owner's manual. Hope this helps/makes sense. Here's a video to help out.

True enough, although I don’t think that this issue is commented on as much as the LT pedal was, so it’s difficult to estimate how many users are troubled by it. I have a Helix floor that has been used daily for 5 years, and at one point the joystick failed. Apparently there were others that had the same thing happen - it seems that a couple of the the tags need to be re-soldered. I simply had it repaired - end of problem. Essentially, you pay your money and take a chance, so good luck with whatever you decide.

Ah, isn’t that just the way of the world - whatever your buy may/will fail at some point, that’s why manufacturers provide warranty. O.K. It might only be for a year to two, but nobody expects something to last forever, or maybe some people do. If you’re expecting anything you buy to be eternally perfect, then be prepared for a big disappointment. You could invest in a Helix Rack and never encounter a moments trouble, but if you decided otherwise, how will you ever know. Stuff could be flakey or faulty, but you don’t really get through life without taking a leap of faith. Just imagine what you’re missing, on the off chance of a part failing, and something that’s not a big cost replace. I bet if you drive you have might have to replace parts occasionally. This headphone knob is not a “major” component, i.e. swapping out an engine or gearbox (mill and transmission), more like a wiper blade (windshield wiper) or tyre (tire). Anything under warranty is replaced Hope this helps/makes sense

Odd Delay Pitch Shift Sound when Changing Snapshots ?
datacommando replied to Hatman777's topic in Helix
Hi, That is exactly what that setting is for - turn it on and everything should be fine. Hopefully when version 3.0 firmware hits the streets the whole manual will have been re-written and folks will be made more aware of these little things. Hope this helps/makes sense -

Too late - it was already done! ;-)

Ah, maybe not the de facto, there is also a presence on that Line 6 Helix Family User Group OFFICIAL and ORIGINAL on FBook. Very quiet in here though - always the last to know. Or possibly not, the Helix Native section of this site is even worse. The last update from DI in that area was in January 2018, informing users of HX Native v1.50.

Hi, This is a really handy reference, actually named as “the only EQ chart you will ever need for your mix” Hope this helps/makes sense.

It is a great thing , but sadly that invitation was originally posted on TGP. The home team on this forum were overlooked for some unknown reason. C’est la vie.

Guitar + Mic: Helix Native to HX Edit (and back)
datacommando replied to danieles's topic in Helix Native
Hi, again, As I mentioned in the earlier post, the thing I did was really just thrown together. Initially, I was going to bus the signals the same way you have, but something wasn’t quite right, I noticed there was some sort of bleed through/crosstalk of the FX from one side to the other. I was probably rushing it and simply didn’t have it configured properly. The other thing that I left out was, while using the same preset on both tracks, I originally had a “gain block” at the start of each path which would be handy for silencing each path rather than individually switching off each item. As I wound up using only one effect for testing, I simply turned those on and off. Anyhow, I digress. If you are wanting to audition presets that you intend to use in a live setting, I would simply record the dry guitar and vocal into Logic, then put the both tracks into loop playback and send them back out to your Helix on USB 3&4 and adjust to taste on the hardware. When you get the result you require, you can back it up using HX Edit. A little trick that some folks use for checking out Helix presets is to stick a looper in the front of everything to continually play through different configurations of amps, effects and Impulse Response files until they get what they want. There is a really big thing that you should understand about what you are trying to achieve, and that is the “Fletcher Munson Curve”. No matter how much you adjust things on your presets, when they are not at gig level - you will be surprised at how much change there is in your “perfected sound” when playing in a different environment. This is a bit of an obsession with some contributors on the main Helix forum. EDIT: I have remembered why I went for 2 mono channels into 2 instances of Native. That method gave 2 clean isolated signals for the left and right audio paths. Whereas, using the method that you have, those channel strip items that appear to be pan knobs, are actually “balance” knobs (default setting in Logic). True panning must be selected by “Control” clicking on the pan button. You can tell that panning is selected by the small white handles on each end of the green ring. Hope this helps/makes sense. -
Guitar + Mic: Helix Native to HX Edit (and back)
datacommando replied to danieles's topic in Helix Native
Hi, I have never really considered this as an option because ideally you would record your guitar and vocal take separately purely for separation more than anything else. I understand that the vocal and guitar preset that you have will be for a live situation, but for recording purposes what you suggest is a little unnecessary. There is absolutely no reason to stop you recording both at the same time if your really want all the overspill in the recording. Using USB 7 as the the re-amp source for guitar and USB 8 for the Mic will capture your mono dry (Direct Injected) signal. It's quite simple, and once you have it down you can process and reprocess the dry audio in as many ways and as many times as you wish. You're probably overthinking this whole thing. Actually, just for giggles, I dug out an old recording of a Spanish guitar duet and set up a really "quick and dirty test" to try out your "idea". The trick is all in the signal routing, first audio on channel 1 and second track on channel 2 with two instances of HX Native each running the identical preset on split paths. For the first guitar I muted the FX on the Second guitar path and for the 2nd guitar I turned off the FX on the first, so then the 2 mono signals are routed to Stereo Output 1-2. Darned complicated way of working. It's a lot easier to have Presets for Live setups and another bunch for Recording work. It's not a difficult job to edit presets and duplicate settings. I just think the you might be looking at using the hardware and software versions of Helix in a really awkward way. If you really want to make your recording life difficult - here's and real quick and dirty example of how to go about it. Oh, yeah - and a copy of that hideous test preset I used attached here. I used totally crazy effects to check that thing were working as expected. GitR and Vox.hlx -
Yes, I noticed that you can never get a fully cancelled null signal especially when using modulation effects, either regular mod blocks, or those built into the delays - obviously because of the sweeping/shifting frequencies of modulation. As you say, you can find the best spot for least cancellation then switch back to normal mode.

Yes, it’s my usual poor attempt at being amusing, just joshing “spikey”, but my thoughts about why some folks are applying for this role, mirror yours precisely.

Odd Delay Pitch Shift Sound when Changing Snapshots ?
datacommando replied to Hatman777's topic in Helix
Hi, That’s a little vague - a lot of it could be a result of what exactly your snapshots are turning on and off. If it happens on every conceivable setting then that would be odd. Don’t think anyone else has posted a similar issue. Check if it could be your delays - if they are swapping delay times in big steps that may be something to look into. -
Missed your chance to get a tuner in the HX Edit software! ;-)

Hi, In my earlier post which, mentioned the “Stereo Width” block, the quote from DI said that it for collapsing the stereo path to mono, which is essentially what you are saying about inserting a mono gain block. The “Stereo Width” block also has an option “RPolarity” which when set to inverse will produce that “thin” frequency cancelling sound. IIRC, pulling the Stereo Width block down onto a parallel path can actually null the signal if you mess around with this option. This phase inversion feature could do with a little more explanation in the re-write of the manual for v3.0 firmware, whenever that appears. The mono gain block is a good trick to have in the bag, thanks.

Can't get Helix Native to start after log in
datacommando replied to JamesM105496's topic in Helix Native
Did anyone trawl through earlier posts to look for any clues to a fix? I found this from a reply posted a couple of years back - might be worth a shot. When you ain’t got nothing, you got nothing to lose. - Bob Dylan. Hi, I'm sorry about the trouble with your Helix Native. Below are files paths for a number a files that need to be deleted in order to get your Native up and running again. Please remove them all, and then perform a reinstall of the latest version of Native. Plug-in Binaries, please remove these files. /Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio/Plug-Ins/Line 6/Helix Native.aaxplugin /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/Helix Native.component /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST/Line 6/Helix Native.vst /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/Line 6/Helix Native.vst3 Resources. You'll see a data and res folder; just delete the Helix Native folder for a clean slate. /Library/Application Support/Line 6/Helix Native/ User Data This folder contains the user data for Helix Native. This includes the Preset and Impulse Response libraries, local license file (Purchases.dat), user preferences (Helix Native.prefs), and various logs. WARNING as of this writing, it isn’t necessary to delete the PRESET_LIBRARY and IR_LIBRARY folders when uninstalling. Before deleting these folders, be sure to make a backup! Remove the .dat and .pref files. ~/Library/Application Support/Line 6/Helix Native/ Once all these files are removed, re install Native from a new download of the latest version. https://line6.com/software/ Please let me know your results. Shoegaze swell sound / Digitech Space Station i.e. Slowdive band
datacommando replied to rossangeles9898's topic in Helix
Hi, Ah, yes the old DigiTech Space Station - IIRC, they also did a Reverb and Modulation version of that gizmo. Well, as what you are describing is "so unique", it would be a great help to have an audio clip to reference, otherwise we have nothing to go on. Helix does have a "Vintage Swell" in the delay options, also an "Autoswell" in the dynamics section along with an "Auto- Volume Echo" in among the legacy FX. There are stacks of delays onboard if you wanted to stick a volume pedal in front for the obvious "do it yourself" version of swells. Some users are not too impressed with the auto swell options on Helix and are hoping the something along the lines of the Boss Slow Gear will be added at some point. If nothing else comes close to your Space Station get a couple of patch cords and stick it in an FX Loop of the Helix. Solved. Hope this helps/ makes sense. -
Hi, It might be a good idea to edit the title of both of your posts/threads to let others know that it has now been SOLD.
