  1. Hi, Bob, Sadly your idea will not get any response from Line 6 staff in these forums as they are for Helix Users. If you would like to see a feature added in a future update, then the best place to post your request is on the dedicated “IdeaScale” page, and get others to vote it up. Please check that your idea has not already been added by someone else or that would water down the vote results. Here’s the link: https://line6.ideascale.com/a/index Hope this helps/makes sense.
  2. Hi, Not sure that I would say “always”, but they have been in the factory preset list for quite a while. Some are useful for maybe kick starting an idea, others are slightly strange and some totally weird. Have fun with the new discovery.
  3. Hi, There is a whole thread about this SD card issue messing with HX Edit and also HX Native. https://line6.com/support/topic/49342-hx-edit-281-and-helix-native-starting-with-with-a-blank-screen-and-crash/page/3/?tab=comments#comment-355919 Hope this helps/makes sense.
  4. Hi, Phil beat me to it, but what he says is correct, without an internet connection you cannot authorise Native.
  5. Hi, Download the new Helix Native v. 3.0. It is free to try for15 days, and now includes a TUNER! Yay! Happy, happy, happy. That’s the power of people voting for it to be included. Oh, yes, I still own POD Farm, a POD XT Live and a POD HD500 along with a Helix floor and Helix Native. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  6. I had a joystick fail on me once, but it was the jog-wheel one, over on the right near the volume. It seems that the tags needed to be re-soldered. Sent it away for repair and it's been fine ever since. Could be the same thing on the preset selector wheel. Maybe time to have to looked at by a Line 6 tech. Hope this helps.
  7. Hi, Strange, if just that is missing? Make sure that you are running HX Edit v3.0 - then check under "Pitch/Synth" - > Mono and it should be right there under Poly Pitch and Poly Whammy. If not do a Factory Reset on your hardware. Hope this helps/makes sense
  8. Hi. The way to get any Customtone, or paided for 3rd party preset, into your hardware is by using HX Edit. Hook up your Rack to HX Edit and wherever you see "New Preset" displayed you can simply drag and drop the "FILENAME.hlx" file on to the empty slot. Or select an empty preset space, highlight it and select "Import" from the top of the Presets list. You can even overwrite patches you no longer require, but always have a back up copy. Be aware that when you import a preset created by someone else the levels may be very, very loud - see the warning in the Orange Banner at the top of this page. Also, when you import other users presets, they may have been created in earlier versions of the firmware. When you restart your Rack it may go through the "Rebuilding Presets" routine - this is normal because the engine in the hardware needs to make the preset compatible with whatever version of the firmware you are using. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  9. Hi again' I just loaded that preset to check out the issue. As noted by "codamedia" in the post above - that flanger is stereo and you can change it to mono. Even better, if you move the Flanger, Delay and Reverb to Path 2 you can even add a Poly Pitch without any problem. Hope this help/makes sense.
  10. Hi, Looking at the screenshots you have supplied, it looks as if you have run low on DSP power, so some items become unavailable and appear dimmed (greyed) out. By removing the flanger from the signal chain, that then frees up more processing power and then other items become available once more. In the example you supplied, it shows that everything is placed on the top path which uses just one of the 2 DSP chips available. If you route the top path to the lower path then you can take advantage of the second DSP chip and hopefully most amps and effect will be available for you too use. I hope this helps/makes sense.
  11. Hi, I haven’t used Cubase since it was a simple MIDI sequencer on the Atari 1040ST, I’m a Logic user. Anyhow, I’m not sure what is going on with your version of Cubase and Native, (Cubase could be being over zealous with the new version), but a quick look at the Steinberg Help Pages reveals this: https://steinberg.help/cubase_pro_artist/v10/en/cubase_nuendo/topics/installing_and_managing_plugins/plug-in_manager_reactivating_plug_ins_from_blacklist_t.html Not sure if that brings the “lost soul” of Native back out of Purgatory - worth a shot? It might be advisable to raise a ticket with Customer Support to make them aware of this. There may be other users having the same problems who don’t post here. Also, you could see if this has been mentioned on the TGP and Helix Facebook forums. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  12. Hi, FYI Staff from Line 6 do not monitor these forums, and if other contributors cannot supply a solution, then the best thing you can do is open a ticket with Customer Support. That is the only way you are guaranteed a reply from someone who works for Line 6, and you issue will be dealt with. There is a black banner across the top of this page which states “Why is Line 6 not responding” which explains this. The only solution I have seen in this thread is to reload the factory presets then load your back up. You did make a back up before updating didn’t you? I must be lucky because this has never happened to me, therefore I have never needed to look for a solution. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  13. Interesting stuff there Phil. I had a listen earlier when you posted on TGP. Particularly like the “After the Rain” piece. Right, I now intend to finish pointing users experiencing mishaps in the right direction, have a beer, have a sleep and mess around with all this new poly stuff tomorrow. The rest of the “update bricked my Helix” crew can fend for themselves for a while.
  14. It already exists in the form of Helix, LT and Rack units. ”customers were going to complain and ask for more DSP power.” Could it be that you decided to buy the wrong piece of kit? Signed by a hooligan, and I will be round later!
  15. Hi, Usually when seeking assistance from the forum, it’s a good idea to supply as much info about your computer and OS as possible. Anyhow, this is the official procedure for dealing with a failed install. IMPORTANT! In the unlikely event that your update fails, please follow the steps below: Unplug the USB cable from both the back of your Helix and the computer. Turn your Helix/HX device off and on. Reconnect the USB cable to your Helix/HX device and the computer. Download, install, and launch the latest version of Line 6 Updater. In a failure state, the device will not connect to HX Edit. Line 6 Updater for macOS: https://line6.com/software/readeula.html?rid=9831 Line 6 Updater for Windows: https://line6.com/software/readeula.html?rid=9832 Select your device and try updating to the latest firmware again. If the device does not show up in Line 6 Updater after these steps, try a different USB cable and/or USB port. If it still doesn't show up, try a different computer. Sorry, but I'm afraid that's all I can offer right now- i need a beer!. Hope this helps.
  16. Hi, Oh, that is very curious. First thing to do is ensure that the version of HX Edit is v3.0.then reload your original backup that you made before updating the firmware. That will put your original Global settings back - updates usually flush them out. Then use HX Edit to reload the Artists presets. It may just a glitch and if all else fails you can re-flash the firmware. Here are the optional reset procedures which may help blow the bugs out of the hardware. Hope this helps. Reset Options Helix Floor/LT Button Combination Description 2 LED light Fun 3 & 4 Test Mode 5 & 6 Global reset 7 & 8 Reset setlists to factory, Keep IRs 8 & 9 Reset setlists to factory, Clear IRs 9 & 10 Reset setlists to factory, Global reset, Clear IRs 10 & 11 Upgrades existing presets to latest format 11 & 12 Clear current preset 5 & 12 Clear setlists, clear IRs, Return system settings to default 6 & 12 Safe boot mode To use Reset Options: Power off the Helix Hold the desired button combination Power on the Helix Release the button combination Please note: Buttons are numbered from top left to bottom right.
  17. LOL, That is a quote from Digital Igloo (Eric Klein, Chief Product Design Architect at Yamaha Guitar Group, Inc. / Line 6 / Ampeg) The reason is probably best explained by the post above from “silverhead” - basically if someone makes a David Gilmour preset (even if it was done by Mr Gilmour himself), if you download it and play it - well, I rest my case. You aren’t going to sound like him. Sadly the “make me a superstar” effect block hasn’t been added yet. Still waiting for the “added talent” button too. Have fun.
  18. Hi, Not sure why you can’t see 17A because those preset are listed as: The FACTORY 1 setlist for Helix Floor, Helix Rack, and Helix LT contains new Artist Presets (13B ~ 27C). Hope this helps/makes sense.
  19. Why are you duplicating the thread - I gave you the exact same information, as posted by “silverhead” in the post above, over 3 hours ago in your original thread starter. Frankly, I’m baffled as to which bit of this you don’t understand, because in the other thread you mention - “and re-start - powerup with 7&8 depressed does state a reload”. Not necessary - The Artists Presets just need to be loaded in using HX Edit. You will not see the Artists name, but you will see whatever they named that preset in the slot number shown in the list. Has any one else had success? Yes.
  20. Yeah, right! Those you seek are the Artist Preset which you need to load in. Once more from the top.
  21. Note: This thread was started in October 2015. Lucky I spotted it! Also, when seeking assistance on the forum it is advisable to supply as much information as possible as to what your computer and operating system is and what version of the firmware you are updating from. If you are using a Mac running Big Sur the warnings were emailed to Line 6 customers prior to the firmware being available- there is also a notice in the big orange banner at the top of this page. Meanwhile, I will repost (yet again) the official “fix it” from the Updating Helix/HX notes. If it still doesn't show up, try a different computer The full install instructions, from which I took this, are posted here - please take note of the information at the beginning in bright red letters. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  22. I give - You just didn’t look! I don’t understand why everyone has decided to start their own thread for the same things over, and over, and over. Good luck, because as Digital Igloo likes to say - “all presets suck!”
  23. This is something that you do at your own risk - there is a thread on here about Big Sur and how many music companies are telling their users to avoid it until further notice (or check the list on the Sweetwater site regarding BS compatibility). Some folks are managing to use Big Sur without issue and some are not - as your example shows. Line 6 sent out emails to their customers telling them not to update to BS and there is also an big orange coloured banner at the top of this page which states the same. Let's see if this helps. You say that you have tred using just the Updater without success, but I suggest you try and try again. I read somewhere that somebody had similar issues with BS, but managed get the Firmware into his Helix after several attempts. This is the official information taken from the How to Install - release notes: IMPORTANT! If the device does not show up in Line 6 Updater after these steps, try a different USB cable and/or USB port. If it still doesn't show up, try a different computer. Sorry, but I'm afraid that's all I can offer on this. Hope this helps.
  24. Fire up HX Edit and choose to reload the backup you made before updating to v3.0. You should see the option to reload your Global settings. That should bring it back to how you had it set. If not, reload everything in your backup, as the settings for the Variax may be stored in each preset. See if that helps. You did make a back up didn’t you? ;-)
  25. Reload your backup that you made prior to installing the new firmware. Updates have a tendency to reset all the Globals, which is why the backup is recommended - Line 6 don’t want to overwrite you stuff.
