  1. Baaaarrrrrrfffffff! Not only does this darn forum not let you use emojis - it just told me that I have used my quota of “reactions” for today. Hell, how can anyone limit reactions - it happens when it happens, for fooksache! So, arislaf, you need to know, that made me laugh like a lunatic! ;-)
  2. “Word, dog!” Or, whatever the term is that the young people use nowadays! (As long as it doesn’t contain “Like” or “So”- that makes me want to puke!) Ahh! If only that could be true! Although, theoretically it could work - with the amount of noxious gas from the Bull Dust dropped on all the forums across the worldwide web! ;-)
  3. Sp, You are usually someone who totally realises, that as soon as 2.80 hits the streets, that’s when the real pi$$in ‘n’ moaning will start all over again! It’s a self perpetuating thing! ;-)
  4. Hi Capellani, I really don’t understand why you would ask if there is “some security block on it.” I don’t recall ever coming across any guitar multi-fx unit with that sort of function, but you never know! O.K. you don’t give us much information that may help us to help you! I will guess that this must be a brand new straight out of the box HX Stomp, because you didn’t say that it was working and now it’s not. If it’s new and never worked get a replacement from wherever you bought it. It is guaranteed so it can be swapped for a new one if it is faulty. Also, you say that there is “no signal in and out”! Well it’s easy to detect “no signal out” because the unit will be silent, but how do you detect “no signal in” - there are no meters or lights to show a signal is being received? You don’t say what you have the unit connected to and/or how you have it configured. First off, do you have a cable tester and have you checked all your cables are working O.K. Have you set the levels as described on page 40 of the owner’s manual? Have you checked for a signal via the USB connection, or the headphones socket, or is just the rear audio outputs not working. Have you tried performing a factory reset on the unit - if not, do this now and see if it helps: HX Stomp: Turn unit off and then turn back on. Hold Footswitches 2 and 3 as the unit boots up. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  5. Well, if that was all you needed to know, all you had to do was read the pinned thread on the top of this forum which lists, 2.80 "The Missed Connections Update" AVAILABLE SPRING 2019—Don't go looking for it now! Thread named: Helix Firmware 2.80 (Available SPRING 2019) It’s only been there since the end of January. This was also mentioned on the first page of this thread - a couple of posts below the one you quoted from “rd2rk”.
  6. Easily done, but it’s user error! See below. ^^^^^THIS^^^^^
  7. Hi, Here’s a guy with a demo of his version of freeze on his Helix, plus the patch is available on Custom tone.
  8. Why? That’s got to be an exercise in total futility! See what sort of reaction you get if you go over to the Fractal forum and ask if anyone there is trying to rework Helix patches. I think if you are so impressed with the U2 tones available you should get an Axe FX to use them. The trouble with this sort of thing, is simply the fact that only the Edge (or whoever else you choose) will ever sound like them. Everything else is a cheap pastiche - you really need to do what they did - create your own signature sound. Anyone else in here remember ”itsslash” or was it “Iamtheone” and can the Helix sound like Andy Summers - aaaaarrrrrrgggg!
  9. Hi, It may be worth posting your message in the dedicated HXN forum - although probably the only thing you will discover is - you are not alone! https://line6.com/support/forum/90-helix-native/ The best you can hope is that this thing is fixed with this supposed “core update” in firmware v2.80 which is due soon!
  10. There are alway the Line 6 videos to check out.
  11. Hi, Yes, exactly – for example you can select the delay mix to be controlled by the your expression pedal (EXP Pedal 1) and simply set the range from Min Value 15% Max Value 50%. Now when you press down on the EXP full range of travel is only 50% mix. Set the Mix to whatever Min and Max you like, you can also modify the amount of Feedback or Delay Time the same way. The options are many and varied. You may wish to read Page 33 of the Owner's Manual which explains the Controller Assign function of you HX FX unit: https://line6.com/data/6/0a020a3d3f4a5a6a1897ecdf6/application/pdf/HX Effects 2.50 Owners Manual - English .pdf Have fun!
  12. Hi, It seems that it has been mentioned that the HX Stomp headphone power is less than Helix Floor unit. There is a thread with a similar discussion here if it helps: https://line6.com/support/topic/37617-good-open-backed-headphones-preferred-with-hx-stomp/ Edit See post #2008 from Digital Igloo in this thread from TGP https://www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?threads/line-6-hx-stomp.1981420/page-101
  13. Hi dirkaxe, I don’t understand why you are saying the sound quality is not as good as your Helix Floor unit? Helix Native is the software brain that is in the hardware version - they are the exact same thing. Maybe you’re using a different monitoring system for the HXN plug-in and that’s why you perceive a difference? Once again, I don’t understand this situation. It confuses me that you state that HNX is crashing FL Studio when it loads. Surely you must have had it function correctly or you wouldn’t be able to discern that Native, as you noted, has an inferior sound quality. What changed for it to stop working properly? What is different now to when it was working? A little information may help. Note: Line 6 are due to release version 2.80 of the Helix Firmware, hopefully in the next few weeks. The update is supposed to bring all the Helix range of products into line and a fix for these issues with Native should be resolved. Regards
  14. Hi hamiltonj2, I don’t understand why, if you had a fully functional Helix Native running in demo mode, it stopped working and developed the “spinning beach ball of doom”, for no apparent reason. Something must have got screwed, because when you paid for the full version it should have been simply a question of registering the demo to unlock the full version. The only issue that I encountered was when I paid for the full version it still continued to show “demo mode” until the 15 days trial period passed. Then it worked as normal and thankfully no crashes. I really do understand your frustration, but a bit more info may help to narrow this down. It would help greatly to know what computer platform hardware, OS and version of Ableton Live you have. Do you have any anti-virus or firewall active that may have interfered with the on-Line registration verification process? Regards
  15. Sp: I’m not sure, but could this be what you thought you had read. It is from the “pre-release notes” in the pinned thread Helix Firmware 2.80 (Available SPRING 2019), updated by DI on January 24th. ”PowerCab Plus remote support—Helix can now remotely adjust parameters in up to two L6 LINK-connected PowerCab Plus modeling speaker cabs. When one PowerCab Plus is connected via L6 LINK (110-ohm AES/EBU cable), it receives a mono signal from Helix; when two PowerCab Plus amps are daisy-chained via L6 LINK, the first cab in the chain receives the left signal and the second cab receives the right signal. From the Output > Multi or Output > Digital block, press PAGE > to view page 2 and turn Knob 2 (PowerCab Select) to choose which PowerCab you'd like to control (or both, for stereo). Just like with any amp, cab, or effect, PowerCab Plus parameters can be quickly assigned to footswitches, expression pedals, or even Snapshots DT25/DT50 remote support—Helix can now remotely adjust parameters for up to two L6 LINK-connected DT25 or DT50 amplifiers. When one DT25 or DT50 is connected via L6 LINK (110-ohm AES/EBU cable), it receives a mono signal from Helix; when two DT25 or DT50 amplifiers are daisy-chained via L6 LINK, the first cab in the chain receives the left signal and the second cab receives the right signal. From the Output > Multi or Output > Digital block, press PAGE > to view page 4 and turn Knob 2 (DT Select) to choose which DT amp you'd like to control (or both, for stereo). Just like with any amp, cab, or effect, DT25/DT50 parameters can be quickly assigned to footswitches, expression pedals, or even Snapshots”
  16. Hi Marekski, You are asking in the wrong thread. You really should read this one:
  17. Guys, Having looked at the post from “schuha_at” (above) one more time, and not just speed reading it, I think that something may have got scrambled in the Babel fish translation unit. I interpreted it as: “No, its not just to adjust parameters. You can also activate or deactivate designated blocks.” and not, ”No its not to adjust parameters. You can activate or deactivate designed blocks.“ Quite easy to misunderstand something like that in this world of predictive text. Just a thought.
  18. For anyone who is still unclear about Snapshots, take 5 minutes and watch this, it should help to clarify the issue about what they do. A snapshot stores and recalls the state of certain elements within the current preset, including block bypass, parameter control, command centre and tempo.
  19. Hi, You say that you tried to do the factory reset, but there are others that may work. Try “Safe Boot” first then re-install the Firmware. Maybe you did not update the “driver” first! Check out this link to see if you can find a fix for your Helix LT It looks like a similar problem to this one posted here: https://line6.com/support/topic/46767-helix-lt-not-working-after-update/?tab=comments#comment-297380 I hope this helps you.
  20. Hi , Oh dear, you managed to fall foul of the dreaded "User Error" that plagues all types of Helix users when the darn thing sometimes doesn't quite work how they expected. Not to worry and don't panic! Stick a post on here and someone will usually jump in quickly with a possible answer. We don't have them all yet, but we keep hacking away! As for the delete thing it seems that 'soundog' has given you the clue to solve that. But with regard to getting rid of the linked picture, that 's a different trick. If I remember correctly, you have go "edit" (which is right between quote and options), then you will see the dialogue box containing a small proxy image of the file which you uploaded. In the lower right hand corner of the preview image there is a very small trash can icon that you need to click on and that will remove the picture from your post. It's a real PITA method but it's the only way I have found that works, especially on those occasions when you want to add an explanatory image to help some user fix an issue and the pop up occurs with a message that you have used all your allocated space for attachments! Damned annoying. Then you need to go to the "My Attachments" link from under your profile Avatar at the top right of the forum, then wade through and manually delete things from the older posts and retrieve some space. AARRRRRARGG! Here's and example of the pic delete trash can thing! Anyhow, enough of this nonsense - enjoy your Helix Native bundles of fun!
  21. I guess, because this got deleted, you must have figured out what the problem was? We would love to know, in case anyone else has the same problem. Should this thread now be marked as “solved”?
  22. Hi, Can the Helix do polyphonic pitch shifting? Simple answer - no, not yet. There have been “rumours” that it could be in the pipeline, but I wouldn’t hold my breath. Meanwhile, you may want to checkout Ideascale and upvote any request already on there for polyphonic shifting. https://line6.ideascale.com/ Regarding the other question - yes, Snapshots are the way to go with this. With a snapshot you could use one shifter down a whole tone (2 steps) then click the foot switch and have the same shifter swap up to +10 steps. I’m not sure if that would create some strange sweep as it moves from one position to the next. If it does slur than simply swap between 2 separate shifter blocks. Best thing to do is experiment - nothing to lose and you might find something really wild. Hope this helps.
  23. Hi, This crops up quite often with all the Helix range and the answer is - no! It may be something that you would like to put on “ideascale” (https://line6.ideascale.com/) although if you trawl through the requests on there, you may find someone beat you to it, but you can still upvote the idea. Until this is ever implemented on the Helix family of products, the work around that a lot of people use is to create a preset with a whole bunch of blocks already configured with your fave settings. Once you create this template you simply copy and paste the blocks you need to a new preset. Not a perfect solution, but it works. Hope this helps.
