  1. Hi, This crops up quite often with all the Helix range and the answer is - no! It may be something that you would like to put on “ideascale” (https://line6.ideascale.com/) although if you trawl through the requests on there, you may find someone beat you to it, but you can still upvote the idea. Until this is ever implemented on the Helix family of products, the work around that a lot of people use is to create a preset with a whole bunch of blocks already configured with your fave settings. Once you create this template you simply copy and paste the blocks you need to a new preset. Not a perfect solution, but it works. Hope this helps.
  2. I did make a point of stating - “Although, I do now appreciate that others don’t find it so easy. “
  3. O.K. Each to their own way of working with the thing. Personally, I’m not confused - I manage to navigate around just fine with what indicators are available. Although, I do now appreciate that others don’t find it so easy.
  4. Hi, Looking at your signal path everything before the amp block should be “mono” and then the final Reverb and Mod blocks can be “stereo” and therefore your output is stereo which you can pan left or right. Pan hard right and you have no sound from the left channel, likewise if panned hard left, nothing in the righthand side. If you split the path after the final block you will then have path 1 outputs (Host) A and B which you can then pan hard right and left. I think that is what you are trying to achieve. You can put the A/B split anywhere along the path and have different effects on each path and if you keep those fx mono you can pan those to either side on the final output (Host). Give it a try and let me know if this is not what you are trying to do. Edit: See page 29 of the manual for info on Block Order and Stereo Imaging Also page 30 of the manual for an example of signal routing. https://uk.line6.com/data/6/0a020a4010aa85c1938380be51/application/pdf/Helix Native Pilot's Guide - English .pdf Note: This reference is in the U.K. manual, the one on the USA site is different!
  5. Well, I have seen all sorts of hot rod, chopped, hacked and circuit bent pieces of equipment but this takes the cake! A complete DIY Helix Floor unit - where there’s a will, there is a way! Outstanding!
  6. That would require a large quantity of Jack and Coke plus an uncertain amount of voodoo!
  7. Uh? Me no understand? I realise there are generic icons for the various block categories such as distortion, modulation, delay etc., but when I assign the effect to a foot-switch, the name of that item shows up on the “scribble strip” above it and I can customise that if I like. Or, when the block is highlighted in the path, the name of the model in that block is shown above the parameter editing knobs. Confused!
  8. Well, this one has passed me by. Not aware of anything like that. Now I guess I will get all twitchy waiting for this to occur- damn!
  9. The big thing to realise about all this modern gadgetry is it is not like standing on stage with your guitar plugged in to an amp (tube or otherwise) then into a speaker inside a big wooden box, loud enough to make your trousers flap. Nope, it’s intended to sound like it would if your amp and cab was mic’d up in a studio environment and you are hearing the sound of it in the control room, fully produced by a good audio engineer running it though a rack full of top class FX, reverbs and echo boxes. Once you can get to grips with that you won’t look back, it’s like having your own virtual production team, but you are in charge of the results. Work at it, watch the videos as a reference source and whatever else don’t tell your wife how you managed to sound so good after all these years. Happy to have helped spark your interest in this modern high tech stuff, apart from the fact this forum doesn’t do emojis - for that you need to go the old school route. ;-) Plus any obscenity in you post will be converted to “lollipop” unless you learn how to avoid that $hit. Shout If you need help, there are many talented Helix users on here! Happy trails.
  10. Laissez les bon temps rouler!
  11. Yeah, could be that, but it makes me wonder if they have never heard of insurance? ;-)
  12. This thing about the factory preset names crops up quite a lot and I have no idea why anyone would think it important - it’s not some sort of treasure hunt, there are no prizes, it’s not the Da Vinci code. I take them at face value, they are just names to differentiate one from another. As for the amp, cabs, mics and FX the list of what the models are based on are listed in the Owner’s Manual and most of those are thinly disguised references to the real thing, but hopefully avoid copyright infringement. Anyhow, for your entertainment- here’s a link to an earlier thread about “What does it all mean? Life, the universe and everything,” A lot of this stuff is just speculation on the contributors part!
  13. Got to be an whole albums worth of songs right there! ;-)
  14. Yep, no problem! Solid as a rock since 2016! Why would you have cause to think otherwise?
  15. To find out about programming good tones using Helix, just follow these video tutorials from Jason Sadites. There are over 30 available.
  16. Yep, nothing is foolproof to sufficiently talented fool.
  17. Sorry, but no, it’s not what he’s after! Sadly, our friend is like a someone trying to find a black cat, in a darkened room, while wearing a blindfold. The “Old Rocker” and I had a discussion about that last week, over on this thread from Helix Native. -> -> ->
  18. Hate to tell you this, but trying to set your tones this way is only going to lead to you not being happy with the result. It has been an ongoing debate on this forum about headphones - which are best for etc. Maybe you should research these threads: https://line6.com/support/topic/23319-helix-through-headphones-sounds-awful/ https://line6.com/support/topic/26959-the-mother-of-all-headphone-complaint-answers/ From what I have read about your Sennheiser Momentum, wireless version or not, they are low impedance 18ohm with mini jack connection that seem to be aimed at the mobile user eg: phone, tablet etc., so I’m not sure that they are ideal for setting your tones, but that’s just my comment.
  19. Well, I think they gave up on that a long while ago. It's very rare that a Line 6 employee shows up on here - you usually find them leaving comments and quips on TGP or that Helix Family thing on Farcebuck! Hang around her and you're most likely to find out about this update long after the folks on those other "social media" areas. So, hopefully, all these perpetual moaners might scoot over to those other forums and kick up a fuss. Folks are getting shut out for even mentioning the dreaded number on FB - if only that would happen here! :-)
  20. Hey, I said that on the first page of this nonsense - and I ain’t yer Granny!
  21. ^^^^^THIS^^^^^ Patience is a virtue!
  22. Yep, just do it - straight to v2.71. If you can hang on for a while longer, you never know, v.2.80 might have landed. Now that will be a nice upgrade for you! Also, you may have to alter some of your reverb settings if you are still using the old v.1.06, during one update the amount of "wet" reverb was increased due to public demand.
  23. Hi, First, to answer your question about the HX Stomp. The unit contains the exact same models of amps, cabs and FX that the full Helix and LT versions come with, the difference with the Stomp is that it contains only one Digital Signal Processor and the big boys have 2 DSP. This limits the Stomp only in respect of how much it can handle at one time, but it can still be your entire guitar rig in one box. Stomp has a limit of 6 simultaneously usable blocks whereas Helix has 8 per path along 4 paths for a total of 32 blocks. So yes even though it is a smaller box of tricks it is possible to run Dual Amp configurations, but you need to plan how to use it best. The fact that it uses "Snapshots" means you can do some slick stuff. Oh, yeah, it even has USB to connect to your computer to edit the presets and/or create your own and can be used as an audio interface to a DAW for recording. Couple on of these to a FRFR powered speaker and away you go. In less than 6 minutes this guy can explain things better than me and you can hear the HX Stomp box in action. It's the mutts nuts and you don't suffer back pain carry this! Hope this helps.
  24. Hi again, First up and most importantly – Helix Native is a software plug in and needs to be run from inside a Digital Audio Workstation. Although having stated that, there are certain programs that can act as a "wrapper" which can host plug ins, but obviously that is how HXN has been designed. I was guessing that, because you have a PreSonus AudioBox interface, you must have already had access to some digital recording application. If not, don't worry because there a stacks of free DAW starter applications out there for both Mac and PCs. For example you could grab a download of the evaluation copy of Reaper which gives you a fully functioning trial version for 60 days. The trouble with that is then you could be trying to understand using the DAW and your HXNative demo period runs out. Also you would need some method of listening to what is recorded in the DAW, so some form of monitoring is essential. You really don't stand a chance of being able to evaluate Native without decent a playback system. I get the impression that this is like looking down the wrong end of a telescope. If you are unfamiliar with digital audio recording, then you will be on a very long learning curve. Having failed to be impressed by digital modeling in the past, I reckon this would not float your boat. I would suggest that you get a deal on buying a hardware Helix that has a return policy if you are not happy with the unit. With any hardware version of Helix – Rack, Floor, Stomp, you can simply hook them up to a powered FRFR speaker and you are up and running. Certainly a lot easier to transport than heavy amps and cabs, (and certainly easier than wrestling a Hammond organ up and down three flights of stairs.) Hope this makes sense.
