Hi ddufour, Here ya go - FACTORY SETLIST 2 from the last firmware update v2.60 https://www.dropbox.com/s/3ibpcgblkcud6u6/FACTORY 2.hls.zip?dl=0 Just open up Helix Edit, select FACTORY 2 from the Setlist menu and import this unzipped replacement .hls file. I had to zip this file and put this on DropBox because of the crazy limit on the size of attached files that can be uploaded here. Hope this helps

Hi jesus cares, Simple enough. Nothing on the second path was functioning, because the output from Path1 was going directly out of your Helix. I've edited the preset so that now the output is directed to Path2A into the Teemah, second Amp & Cab, Volume and Sweep Echo. I guess that the second amp and cab will be switched on and off via snapshots and the edit I made to the signal flow is not affected by the snaps. Hope this makes sense. Attached edited preset:

BUMP^^^ Does anyone know if anything is being done to rectify the issue of the forum log in/out situation. We are now in August and it is still happening to beyond the point of annoyance. Who/where do we contact to protest? It's really **$%£@£$%^^^(_+@!£$$!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and not at all amusing.

It can’t be any good - it doesn’t go up to eleven!

Oops! It seems that I had misread you post the first time I commented - apologies! What “codamedia” suggests in the post above would work. Use a send block to switch to the other channel. The only drawback to doing that is you lose a footswitch that could be used for another effect.

Hi shredzilla, That’s not much fun, but you haven’t given us anything to work with. You say you are “trying to update to the newest firmware”, but what hardware are you connecting to, Floor, Rack, LT or FX. Also, which version are you trying to upgrade from, what computer and operating system are you using. This info would help us to help you! Regards

Hi napynap, When using a single amp or mixer channel, connect only LEFT/MONO 1/4” jack. Page 39 - HX Effects User Manual: https://line6.com/data/6/0a020a3d3f4a5a6a1897ecdf6/application/pdf/HX Effects 2.50 Owners Manual - English .pdf#page39

HX Edit connectivity issues on new Helix Rack with a Mac
datacommando replied to meshica7's topic in Helix
Hi meshica7, It appears that you have tried most of the common things to solve this problem. As you have actually repeated this issue using 3 different Macs running variations of the OS X, I would suspect that there is a fault in the hardware. As your rack model is brand new, it will be covered by warranty, so I suggest that you return it for a new unit. That will get you up and running pretty quick, then you can enjoy your Helix. Don't struggle searching for a fix, get a replacement that works. Hope this helps -
Helix Models “Based On” Full Listing PDF as of FW 2.60
datacommando replied to DannyMarkIV's topic in Helix
Hi rossfr, Yep, there is the legal thing to consider, but when you check the names I think most are fairly thinly disguised pseudonyms. It’s not that complex and some are quite amusing and some are....well. -
Helix Models “Based On” Full Listing PDF as of FW 2.60
datacommando replied to DannyMarkIV's topic in Helix
Hi Dshow, As I noted in the previous post, I went to check the info on your site, and very slick, clean and organised it is - no obvious typos there. No sir, I think those amusing "spooling mistooks" have occurred when our helpful friend "DannyMarkIV" has done the conversion to Adobe Portable Document Format (pdf) possibly using some form of Optical Character Recognition (OCR). OCR is notorious for taking plain English and turning it into some totally alien language. Best avoided, and/or use a good spell checker. I also totally agree that our enthusiastic friend should have given a you a proper credit, rather than the short comment which mentions dshowmusic.com in passing. Regards -
Helix Models “Based On” Full Listing PDF as of FW 2.60
datacommando replied to DannyMarkIV's topic in Helix
Hi DannyMarkIV, I just thought that you might like to know. If you read through the stuff carefully you will find that the screens grabs are full of typos - unfortunate or not, there are lots! The Klon Centaur is a particular little gem. I’ve not looked at the original web page, but maybe something got screwed up during conversion from html to pdf. EDIT I have just now checked the original source material and that all appears to be O.K. Although, the reverse delay is only listed under Legacy FX. Note: Don’t trust OCR without proofreading it first! -
Hi again ckk0003, As noted above, if you are using HX Edit and a Helix Floor, Rack etc., is connected, then it is not possible to load a *.l6t file. Quite simply, the hardware is not compatible. Likewise, if you have an HX FX unit hooked up to the editor, you cannot load a *.hlx file - it’s a different beast, no amps and cabs. That’s also the reason it is not possible to load patches created for the older POD models. I may be mistaken but I think that there must be some sort of handshake going on between the hardware and software to identify what model is connected. Although, I have never actually tried this as my Helix is constantly wired via USB, but I don’t think it is possible to edit a preset (whatever type) with out the hardware being present. After all, it’s just a remote way of bypassing the physical knobs, switches and dials, and the edits are done in real time. Hope this makes some sense.

Hi again, I’m not sure how prices are in Brazil compared with other parts of the world, but I imagine that 8 or 10 inch pro audio powered monitors may be quite a bit higher than your budget will allow. Here in Europe your $250 would possibly buy a single 8 inch monitor. I would suggest that you check out any good brand that are on sale at lower than normal prices, especially if they are older models that have been superseded by new units. Look out for deals on Yamaha HS8, as they seem to get constantly good reviews - they also do a seven inch version that could save you some money. Other brands to check are JBL, Tannoy, Mackie, KRK Rokit, PreSonus plus all the other usual suspects. The other option is that you will just have to save enough for what you want. I said it was a can of worms! Good luck.

Hi littlefield2018, I’m surprised that your search didn’t return anything useful, because someone was asking about importing IR files only a day or two back. I will point you to the thread in the hope that it may help: Here ya go!

Hi, You say that your main gigging preset has a blank path 1, but is that the only one, or are there more? It seems a lot of work to revert to a previous version of the editor and re-flash your Helix for one patch. ”brue58ski” has pasted a link above where someone had a similar issue. Another forum user “Dshow” was able to remove the offending block (a wha) from the preset and resave the file so that it could be loaded into v2.60 HX Edit with the top line restored. As the preset ***.hlx files are JSON “JavaScript Object Notation” text files, I think it may be a question of opening a copy of the problem file in a text editor, then delete the “bad block” and then save back the modified file. Load it and see if it works. You could also try to contact the forum user who fixed the file mentioned in the discussion above and ask if they could do the same for you. It’s worth a shot and you wouldn’t have to backtrack your software. Hope this helps.

Hi I_sap120394, You're not the first, and certainly won't be the last to ask this question. As usual it 's a fairly opened ended query, because you state that you are considering using studio monitors to use with Helix Native and your Helix LT, but you don't expand on that. It would be a big help to know what sort of price range and size (4'' to10"?) you are able to look at. Furthermore, would you need to purchase powered monitors or do you already have amplification for you studio/DAW. I'm asking that because you say you already upload stuff to YouTube occasionally so, you must be using something already - or is that just using headphones? The thing is, on this forum everyone will have a different opinion and only you can decide. Just have a search through here and see what you turn up about suggestions for monitors, and headphones. A hundred different answers, and it's even more complex when you check the Helix groups on FarceBook and TGP. It's can of worms so get ready for the recommendations. Here's a starting point: Under $200 Monitors Good luck.

Hi ckk0003, Helix Floor, Helix Rack, Helix LT and Helix Native file type suffix is .hlx HX Effects file type suffix is .l6t (like the old POD files) The files are not compatible, They have separate sections on custom tone to avoid this confusion. Page 14 HX Effects Owner’s Manual: NOTE: HX Effects-exported preset files are not able to be imported and used with Helix family devices (Helix Floor, Helix Rack and Helix LT) nor with the Helix Native plug-in software. Likewise, preset and setlist files exported from Helix family devices or Helix Native plug-in are not able to be imported and used on HX Effects devices. There is a whole chunk of info about file compatibility in the HX Edit Pilot’s Guide - see page 3 Click above link or find it under HX Edit prefs - question mark icon on top right. Hope this makes sense.

Hi p8guitar, The information given above by “silverhead” is correct, but as you appear to have inadvertently downloaded the wrong software for your PC, may I suggest that you do a completely fresh download from the Line 6 site. Firstly, using your currently installed version of HX Edit - make a backup of the stuff from your Helix. Now, from the Line 6 downloads page, you should select HX Edit under the All Software tab and then whatever version of Windows you are using from All OS on the dropdown menus. This will take you to the correct download page. This is the only thing you need to download. When you install HX Edit it will also install the latest Line6 Updater v1.14 and any other drivers etc., that you may need. After the new HX Edit software has been installed, reboot your computer. Doing a clean install should clear any glitches that were linking to any old versions of the software. When you’ve done this, ensure HX Edit is shutdown, then launch the new Line 6 Updater v1.14, click the about button to check the details. If all your connections are good the Updater should see your Helix. You can now proceed with the firmware upgrade, over your internet connection. Do not disconnect or turn off the power to your Helix during this process. When completed your Helix will reboot and rebuild the presets, then you are good to go, no hardware reset is required. Hope this helps.

Hi, The best place to start is to follow the advice given above, from “Digital Igloo”, who suggests reading about the subject in the owner’s manual. Page 28 Helix Owner’s Manual Failing that, Jon from SDS posted a video guide in this forum way back in Feb 2017. Follow these examples and you can’t go wrong. SDS - Beginners Guide Video Hope this helps!

Hi nateweeks83, If you want to upload a patch here, you will need to click on the word "Quote" under this reply to you. It will open a response section were you can type your reply. Also there is a symbol of a paperclip and Drag files here to attach, or choose files... That is where you can upload you sample file. I will attach an example here to show you it works.

Hi, roscoo67, You can go straight to version 2.60. Instructions for "How to" were created by phil_m (above), and you can find them right here.

Hi coaltrain, Here we go again - one more time, from the top!

When Helix Native first became available quite a few people had problems with logging in. I know I had enough issues, after buying the full version it still only functioned in demo mode. Very annoying and strange, but fixed it pretty quickly. I thought all those issues had been resolved, but apparently not! I would suggest raising a ticket to make Line 6 aware there are still issues - Line 6 staff rarely read the stuff posted here, and it may have been overlooked. Meanwhile, because you can obviously log in to your account to be able to post here, use those exact details in Native. Also, check that you don’t have anything blocking the communication between Native and the outside world - firewall, anti virus software etc. Note: You didn’t mention what platform and DAW you are using. That could be a help in figuring out where the problem lies. Hope this helps.

Helix with Variax input setting - Multi? Variax? Variax Mags?
datacommando replied to bc05's topic in Helix
O.K. Maybe I misconstrued the object of that link, and like “crusinon2”, I also have several presets similar to the one shown. What had thrown me off track was your first comment at the top of this page regarding the Multi input. You seemed concerned that using Multi would be a bad thing to do! What could possibly happen? Helix is designed to accept a variety of input sources - it’s not likely to get damaged, or that option would not even be there. The easiest way to check out what you were getting confused about would be to put the input on Multi and connect the VDI to a Variax with pickups. Oh, what a surprise - it works just fine - no problem.
