Drag and drop from HX Edit, just like Sascha said. Works the same the other way too. Bear in mind that you can set Native to Hardware Compatibility Mode allowing even the HX Effect unit to be matched, but any hardware Send/Return, FXLoops blocks and any of the Loopers will not work - it’s a software plugin. Oh, yeah - as usual this is fully documented in the Helix Native Pilot’s Guide v3.15 - Rev P. Page 14 onward. https://line6.com/data/6/0a020a4179ea61fd2e9472da7/application/pdf/Helix Native 3.15 Pilot's Guide - English .pdf Hope this helps/makes sense.

Thank you, very kind of you. Happy to try and assist wherever possible.

Explain "dodgy" - that might indicate a hardware issue that you would not be able to resolve with a Factory Reset. IIRC someone one mentioned a display problem that was actually caused by a cable connection that wasn't secured, or had worked loose. Hope this helps/makes sense

Hi, As mentioned by "silverhead" in the post above, your Helix doesn't have any "Factory IRs" installed, although Line 6 offered a free pack of IRs from Allure to use in your unit. You simply need to sign up for them here: https://line6.com/allure/ As for how to load them into your hardware, that is all explained in the Helix 3.0 Owner's Manual on Page 37 https://line6.com/data/6/0a020a3f041b611d61cac763b/application/pdf/Helix 3.0 Owner's Manual - Rev F - English .pdf There is also a thread on here, from a while back (2015), where people were posting links to places with free IRs Hope this helps/makes sense.

Yes - it’s totally pointless. From the HX Effects promo page:- “The HX Effects™ processor was designed to be integrated into traditional amp and pedal setups and may serve as anything from a dedicated multi-effects unit to the command center for your entire rig. Although compact in size, it delivers the same professional-grade sound quality and authentic HX® Modeling found in our market-leading Helix® processors.” Theoretically, if you take the HX FX with it’s scribble strips and added amp and cab modelling, put it in a large solid aluminium enclosure with lots of in/out options, plus extra footswitches, a large colour screen and a chunky expression pedal- then you really would have something interesting! Oh, yeah - that’s a Helix. Alternatively, you could patch into a Strymon Iridium, SansAmp GT2, Humboldt Simplifier or even a NUX Amplifier Academy (with an FX Loop), or any one of the many other similar Amp/Cab modelling units that are available, to achieve what you envisioned. Hmm… HX Stomp has the amps and cabs. The correct tool for the job?

Nope - not exactly - it’s an incorrectly uploaded screenshot. It is maybe something to do with the server and the picture not being named with the correct image file extension - .jpg .png or whatever. It is probably now converted to a text file and I think there is a Window app that can read them - not that it would help as it should be an image. Doh! Just a guess, as it seems to happen quite a bit on here.
-
Yep, that’s going to be part of the problem - you are dealing with 2 different audio engines.

Hi, There could be many reasons for this happening, but without knowing more, we would be grabbing ideas from thin air. A simple way to quieten the Helix is to turn on the noise gate on the input. You see what I mean - that’s clutching at straws. It would be a great help to know what exactly are the effects, amp, cab etc.,that you have in to original HD POD preset, and what you used to “replicate” that preset in the Helix. Clutching at straws once more - is there a compressor involved somewhere in the signal path? Hope this helps/makes sense.

Once again that information is provided, along with an illustration of the jack sockets on page 55 of the current Owner’s Manual for your HXS. Regarding active (powered) monitors for someone just starting out, the post from “MusicLaw” above covers the basic “need to know” stuff. Check out his recommendations. On a tight budget? I would also give a mention to a pair of PreSonus ERIS E5-XT 5.25" 2-Way Active Studio Monitor, w/ EBM Waveguide as worth a look, as they have balanced 1/4” TRS inputs that match the HX Stomp outputs. https://www.presonus.com/products/Eris-E5-XT Ultimately, this is something only you can decide. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Any Idea when Helix Native will be good for macOS Ventura?
datacommando replied to avanveld's topic in Helix Native
As I mentioned previously, it will happen, but there is no defined timeline AFAIK. Yep, I saw that Ventura update this a.m. and liked you I always ensure that the auto updates are “Off”. I decide what I install. -
Any Idea when Helix Native will be good for macOS Ventura?
datacommando replied to avanveld's topic in Helix Native
Hi, There are no Line staff here and only very occasionally do they visit these forums - See the “sticky comment” in the black banner stripe at the top of this page entitled “Welcome to the Line 6 forums!” Line 6 are pretty reticent about tell anyone what they are working on, but my guess is it will happen eventually. We're all still waiting for the Firmware and Native update to version 3.2. which has been quite some time in development. Since Apple continue to pursue the continual changes to their Operating Systems it become an endless game of catch up. As Ventura was not even on the distant horizon when the 3.2 Helix Firmware was been devised, I wouldn't hold my breath. Being on the "bleeding" edge of technology isn't such a great idea. It could bring the whole house of cards down again, therefore my thoughts on this are "avoid being an early adopter - let someone else have all the teething troubles of a shiny new OS". I have been using Apple Macintosh from the Mac Plus unto the present day and I used to update to every new model as soon as they hit the streets. Not anymore, I'm still running Catalina on a 27" iMac Retina 5k with 32GB of RAM. It just works. Hope this helps/makes sense -
Please offer Helix Native / HX Edit for Linux users !!!

Hi Vincent, There are no Line staff here and only very occasionally do they visit these forums - See the “sticky comment” in the black banner stripe at the top of this page entitled “Welcome to the Line 6 forums!” This link is where you need to go to have any hope of it been seen by anyone from Line 6: https://line6.ideascale.com/c/campaigns/47762/stage/all/ideas/unspecified?tag=linux You will need to register to vote. There are 3 active threads 2 of which are from 2015 and have not progressed. The top one seems that only 19 people have voted for this at this time, so I don’t think this will ever be a priority for Line 6, but you never know! Hope this helps/makes sense. -
Hi, I guess you didn’t read this - Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, I would suggest that your read the section on using USB Audio with your Stomp and MBP, which can be found on page 55 of the current Owner’s Manual for your HXS. https://line6.com/data/6/0a020a418962611d636e7c51b/application/pdf/HX Stomp 3.0 Owner's Manual - Rev D - English .pdf It is USB Class Compliant on the Mac and should just simply show up as an Audio interface - check your Audio MIDI utility app. You should be able to select the HX as the audio in device, then from under the Sound Icon in the top right of the menu bar, you should select the Mac speakers as playback. Note: using the Mac speakers is not really recommended for your guitar thrash sessions - better invest in some dedicate studio monitors to connect directly to the Stomp. Then you have some serious fun by recording your guitar in GarageBand. Hope this help/makes sense.
-
Hmm… It’s perfectly clear - you input your signal from your Audient ID44 to the HX as line level, through as many effects as you like, or even no effects blocks, finally if your output is set to “Inst” then you connect it to an amp. If it is set to “Line” then the output should be connected to a mixer or other recording device. I really cannot see how that is complex, but if you want spend money on a reamp box - fine, do that, but it would appear that you are making this thing more complicated than necessary. The simplest way to check if this works how you want - plug stuff into your HX Stomp and try it. Hope this helps/makes sense. P.S. I’m studio based and I have been using my Helix Floor unit to reamp since 2016 - no issues here.

O.K. From the HX Stomp 3.0 Owner’s Manual page 51 - Global Settings > Ins/Outs Output Level - “Choose “Inst[rument]” when connecting the 1/4" outputs to stompboxes or the front of guitar amps; choose “Line” when connecting to mixers or standalone recorders. When using a single amp or mixer channel, connect only the LEFT/MONO 1/4" jack.” https://line6.com/data/6/0a020a418962611d636e7c51b/application/pdf/HX Stomp 3.0 Owner's Manual - Rev D - English .pdf Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, I usually find that the sounds I am looking for are not in some fabled fantasyland, but they are actually right there in the Helix. You just need to bring them out. Funk is a wide ranging term, do you mean “funk” or “funky”? Some sort of reference point would be a big help. Oh yeah, obviously this stuff isn’t really going work if you’re using a seven string shred machine into a Diesel amp. You will need the correct tools to do the job. Here’s a nice example. Here’s another, coming at it from a different angle. Oh, and more here. Yet more. These guys have some for sale too. Plus an old thread from 2016. Hope this helps/makes sense. Huh? Updates? Wha..? Nah! Can’t see that happening anytime soon! Oh! Soooooooon! Were have you been? Go here and read through all 465 pages of discussion about firmware v3.2 https://www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?threads/helix-3-2.2223358/page-461#post-35716500 Hope this helps/makes sense. Ye gods, I dispair.

Hi, You can use your HX Stomp to re-amp without the need to use your Audient ID44 interface as the facility for re-amping is built in. See the HX Stomp 3.0 Owner's Manual - Rev D - English - Pages 55-56 USB Audio - DI Recording and Re-amping. https://line6.com/data/6/0a020a418962611d636e7c51b/application/pdf/HX Stomp 3.0 Owner's Manual - Rev D - English .pdf This guy has a video too. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, Ah... an interesting first post. If you're expecting an "early response" from a member of Line 6 staff, then you are probably out of luck. Line 6 Staff do not monitor these forums - See the "Welcome to the Line 6 forums!" black banner at the top of this page. When asking other contributors for assistance it is advisable to give as much relevant information as possible, eg: Computer model and current operating system, current DAW version, Native version number etc. No one here can speculate if this is actually an issue with Helix Native, or a fault in the DAW in which it is running. Even if this is a problem with the Native GUI, no one here would know if it will ever be fixed. Line 6 are very tight lipped about what is being worked on. If you have paid for Helix Native and encounter a genuine problem in the software you can raise a ticket with Customer Support to make them aware of the issue. They cannot fix things that they don't know about. I realise you say that you have tried using Native in a colleague’s studio, but you didn't say if you have downloaded the 15 day fully functional trial version to use on your own computer and DAW. Simply complaining that it isn't working how you might expect without trying it fully for yourself is a little odd. I did Google "Native GUI lag" as suggested, and discovered that it has been mentioned on here by some annoyed software developer who described Native in Reaper as "basically unusable". Hmm... it appears the updated version of the plug-in solved the issue in that particular case. Many happy users. Furthermore, I'm not sure who you are expecting to "Plz email me with a response", as you haven't supplied an email contact. Users generally respond to comments by quoting the Original Poster. We are not psychic! Hope this helps/makes sense.

HX Native does not respond to Program Change messages
datacommando replied to phonaak101's topic in Helix Native
Hi, You mention this happens with the VST3 version of the Native plug-in - maybe you should read this. It's not a thing that I have encountered as I'm using the AU version in Logic on a Mac. Hope this helps/makes sense. -
Hi, If you wish to support a suggestion you need to “upvote” that idea on the IdeaScale website. Posting in this thread is basically to let others know about the idea, and point them to where they can vote for it. Line 6 staff don’t monitor these forums, and therefore your comment will have little or no chance of anyone from Line 6 seeing it and getting it implemented. Has this idea actually been submitted on IdeaScale? https://line6.ideascale.com/c/campaigns/51424/stage/all/ideas/unspecified You didn’t mention if you have done that on IdeaScale. BTW, you need to be registered and logged in to vote. Hope this helps/makes sense.
