Oh yea I meant 3/21... :P

I'm sure they are great. I was Just comparing the wear and tear of hard plastic versus metal. Other than in water metal usually wins.

Well, if you can find a sweet looking not beat up Gibson Les Paul Standard for 1600.00 or less (I actually did) then hats off to you. It does happen, but not very often. Otherwise there's nothing wrong with an SE or Epi... Or even a Gibson SG. Awesome guitar for around 1300 or so new. What I liked about the Jem however, is that is so damn different looking (to me) than the rest of them, in a good way.

Heh glad to see that this model of guitar (Woody) actually went on tour with him. I noticed that the spring plate on the guitar he held up (with the replaced neck pup) had a different one versus the one that was installed on the built guitar above, so I'm betting that they are different guitars, and that would make sense. I wouldn't take that Jem they built above on tour either.

And you'd need 3 or 4 of them to last as long as one Mission pedal too... ;)

My God... This will give you a woody!

I think you want the EP1-L6, because that one does not have the toe switch. The SP1-L6 does have the switch, but I don't think the floor unit has a port for the switch cable. I'm running the rack version with a controller (that does have the EXP toe cable port) so sorry if I am wrong about the floor unit not having that port.

Yep and that's why it's such a shame to "abandon" such a great idea behind "Dream Rig", which should include Helix too (but because its old market hype now they moved on), especially when they used the same trademark name on the port for both series of processors. Its the "control" side that's not cooked yet. I'd like to know if they even get reports back to the shirt and tie boys about many being upset about this cause I'm sure I'm not alone, even if many have never known, forgotten or moved on. Kicking a dead horse again, but it's good for the leather on the boots. ;)

Tim Pierce- damn... B)

Did they show up with socks in their pants? ;)

As far as you being pleased with Helix, there are no guarantees in life with anything. That said, nearly everyone who had an HD series likes the overall tones of Helix better. As for me, I think its much better and a lot more usable now with what you can hook into it.

BACON! in a bottle....

Are you close to a computer/ monitor with the guitar? Any florescent lights on near you? I've also heard of noisy AC power stepdown transformers in the alley. Noise can come from anywhere including a bad ground or ground loop. The fact that it goes away completely if you touch something metal on the guitar tells me it's probably not Helix. Unplug the guitar cable from Helix. Do you still hear the noise?

I didnt even notice the tone part, what I noticed was the -59!?! Really? I didn't know it went that far down lol...

I love my Firehawk 1500 with Helix, or with my Kemper!

You can also lower the bridge pickup for overall "gain/brightness". Along with other suggestions above this is what I might try. U don't wanna go too low, just a bit say a nickels width and then adjust upwards as needed. I know this is hindsight, but if U wanted a neck pickup sound why not just buy a guitar with a neck pup? Hope this helps.

If you are going aux send out from Helix into your amp I highly recommend one of these.

Noise? heh, next he'll be complaining about the tuner in the editor...

Stuff like this needs a sticky. Good info~!

Generally, that really depends on how you hook it up. Has this amp got a send and return? Then I would use the 4 cable method. There are "gobs" of info on how to hook this up, just google it.

Here's how I describe it. It is like a bunch of Plateaus... Its all about climbing plateaus. They come easy to climb at 1st and there are many of them one right after another. Then after a year or two, they are less frequent and much higher to climb, but when you do it's just great! And then..., then there may not be another for half a decade or more, and you feel stuck in a rut playing the same thing over and over, you feel like there's just gotta be more to this. What am I missing here?! One day out of the blue, you fumble into an AMAZING pattern you didn't know existed and do get to another plateau and climb it, and its rapture like! AMAZING! And then you wonder out loud, why didn't I already know this? That was so simple and it ties in what I've been trying to tie in! I love playing guitar! The feeling of success once I reach that next plateau is what I now play for, and no matter where I fall in the skill levels it is worth all the effort spent. ;) :D

Yep- and that's the most important part I agree !
