No. It's not the same at all. I know for a fact that on my end there has NEVER been software in a PC or Mac that could EVER equal the Hardware and software together in a Helix. or Fractal, or Kemper box. Ever. I am hoping that "Native" can change that. Exactly... And the PC's and MAC's sure dont... I'm not even sure that my Apollo Quad can keep up and it is IMO top shelf.

Good. That trial period is an excellent idea and worthy of the time spent, as long as it's the same thing with just a time limit only. 2 weeks should be enuff to know. Thanks for that info. Im not really interested in anything but whether or not the same sound I hear from Native matches Helix.
-
That guy's fingers are helping that tone too Im thinking. ;)

Ya know the reason once again that I have Helix and I have a Kemper is because of the tones they make. Never been able to duplicate this using any kind of software thru a PC or Mac or thru an audio interface, as I have stated. I guess I should just buy a UAD guitar amp plugin (they sound pretty good on the videos) and prove to myself that the audio Interface can keep up with the hardware and software in Helix, using the same speakers of course. Yea yea, Im gonna hear how that wouldn't be fair since the firmware on "Native's" isn't the same as in the UAD plugin... OK, fine so I go further and buy Native... The real deal... And then compare the two on the same speaker system side by side, for like tone's. If not, then someone is blowing a bunch of smoke up our backsides. Oh Im sorry thats software, you can't return it... Hummmmm.... ;) Maybe a little too blunt..., sorry, but I hope you get the point about having a really good comparison video available for all, that let's us see it in action and hear the hardware and software tones comparison using the same monitor setup, before Native hits the download servers.

Nice Axe! Real pretty!

Well I try and give um the benefit of a doubt and DI/Line 6 craps all over that. I guess I'll just quit trying to praise them when they refuse to earn it...
-
Just get what you are happy with I say, and let the others decide the same... This way we can all be wrong... :P
-
Thx for replying that your issue was solved. So many don't and there's many on the fence that are reading issues and making a decision to pull the trigger on a new Helix.

Yes events like NAMM is when nearly all the Companies announce what they have new. But that still doesn't change or reflect in the way that Line6 has announced their status on updates in the past. I'm so glad that they are NOW pre-releasing status reports and update lists/news and product information.
-
Well, give or take a few decades Ive been here a "long" time and this policy has never taken place before- and it just ain't normal for Line 6 to give out "pre-release" information like this, vaperware or not. I hope Line 6 keeps it up too. I'd like to thank them and the Yamaha Corporation for the better late than never policy change. :D

Thanks! Gonna try this soon with a GM40 deluxe I'm thinking.

Yep very nice!

I'm running Sierra as well, on an iMac 27" late 2009/ early 2010 model. Have a rack Helix and controller. Try shutting everything off and waiting 5 minutes. Let everything boot up and then turn Helix on last (make sure the controller is off if you have it and a rack unit). Try reinstalling again. I can't think of anything else to try at that point. Contact Line 6 and submit a ticket.

FWIW I use the "buffererd" dry guitar out of Helix to send to a sub bus on my mixer. This allows me to send this to things like a VoiceLive 3, a SY300, stomps etc etc. and then re route them back into a return on Helix. Very powerful options with Helix!

I've seen this too, esp. when using the editor. And its been there for at least two updates now. I do not think it's because of V2.11.
-
Yes DI it's Line 6's wheelhouse. But IMHO the tones were not really on "Top O the shelf" with Kemper and Fractal until Helix came out ;) AS always YMMV. While I'm at it, if you add a few more delay's to Native like this, it would be icing on the cake...
-
That's a heck of a story. I'd probably go with a Fender deluxe, a tube screamer and a jensen 12" with a 57. Or you might just ask for a refund and save up for a functioning Helix. ;)

Ahhh- and DUH... So... the PC and the MAC are not the ones using the audio converters for Native. The audio Interface is. Ok, then mine should be OK as Im running a UAD Apollo Quad. I kept thinking, how in the world is the PC or Mac going to keep up with the 2 Sharc processors with the higher quality A/D D/A converters? They don't have to cause the audio interface is. Thanks Jim for the info.

You didnt get any of that on the DT amp integration update did ya?
-
Oh Come ON Don Adams, Get Smart will ya! :P

It was alien technology and we are not worthy! Actually he did have sound on the last 2 drum hits, but they were delayed (at least on my end). Now the rest of the song was not delayed that much so...., I'm thinking that it was pre-recorded and pick synced as well.

I use reverb (old school) on almost every patch, and delay is used on leads and such. I have no bias against those that dont and im against reverb racism and delay deplorables. :P
