Well part pipe dream. Although I am apprecative of the patch fixes, we still have no workbench or DT series amp integration. And yes the tuner needs tweaking on some more to a less "hyper" like setting while still being accurate. I much prefer the controllers tuner versus the screen. And I may not have mentioned this before, but it'd be nice to have a tuner for the editor.

Idiot proof it using a DI

Yes... it was.... See what you have to understand is firmware space (memory), time to develop, and priorities. Even if Helix had the hardware to work with bluetooth and all they needed was to add the software, that still takes memory space and time to develop. Which then takes away from other things which I think are MUCH more important than bluetooth. So do you want more amps and cabs added for instance, or a tuner for the editor? ;) Do you want more delays and verbs or distortion pedals added, or Bluetooth? For me, I want a good professional guitar preamp. I don't need another iPhone with guitar amp simulation.

Well back then we also mic'ed the drums and amps too, so not just vocals went to the FoH for us. And that was in most of the mid sized clubs, not huge at all. The point is its "not" 1969, 79 or even 89 any more and the sound guy needs to understand that line outs actually work well these days.

Can we add Net Flix and Sirius Radio too? Oh and don't forget a tuner for the editor! ;)
-
Sounds pretty good.

I was in the same car Gazza. Ive had Helix about a year and altho there are needed updates and fixes, its really a much better sounding and flexible routing unit than Line 6 has ever made before.

Nice Video, and the chick can play... But does the editor for it have a tuner?

Uncle Ted... ric you know who Uncle Ted is, right?
-
Nice but I wouldn't call that just Techno. More like Uncle Ted Techno. :D

The problem is not that the sound guy has his preferences. We all do. The problem is that he's not willing to even "consider" listening or learning from what everyone is saying, which is that today there is another (and better) alternative, and its not 1969 when you needed to basically mic everything to FOH.

Yea theres the old "RTFM" response but that usually is followed by a "I hate manuals". So I'll just say find a friend with Helix and once you see it done once its a piece of cake.
-
Thats where mine usually go, but before the delay and verb.

Thanks for the support Line 6.

Yep Im thinking ol cruisinon2 is spot on here. Show up with Helix and let him try n mic that HAHAHA....

Ive read where if you cut 4-5db from 500 Hz this also helps with IRs. Im on the fence here because on some it "really" helps, and on others it "kinda" helps. I guess it depends on the IR and how it was made. So boost around 110Hz and cut around 500 Hz, and start with the amp set at 50% on bass, mids and treble. Adjust to taste, and YMMV depending on the equipment.

Exactly. With my Fryette PS-2 powering a 2x12 cab with V-30's, theres an added "organic" tubey tone thats just sweet to the ears.

Its a line out to line in signal. What exactly is he trying to protect? Sounds like a typical set in his ways old dude. I know one just like him :P ;)

SOP and thats not unusual when you play anything but C&W in the middle "southern" part of the country. Oh you can get away with 1/2 a set of good old Rock&Roll by the drunken 4th set, IF you don't push it too hard and have a Haggard or Jones ready just in case. :D Best money (and food) I ever saw was playin my rock styles in a very connected and talented Country band hitting most of the Summer rodeo's. That said back to the now- Ive decided Im gonna use my Fryette PS 2 as a mono 50 watt amp for Helix. Tried it several different ways (including jumping the amp in to the speaker out) and to me this tube amp is just awesome into a cab with V-30's.

IIRC The FX Return uses the horn and middle speaker. The L&R monitor in's use the side speakers and middle without the horn. Using the FX Return and the monitor L&R ins uses everything. Just connect your HD500 stereo outs to the L&R monitor ins on the back of the FH1500. I doubt you will miss the horn.

Sounds like a intermittent stuck button.

Thanks again didn't have one of those, just ordered one from MF ! You can also run a wah, distortion pedal or boost in front of your FX loop, then add as you did the dlys and verb after the PS line in. Quite nice!
-
If it happens it happens for "all" of us, and that would really make me smile. Yea Im thinking Ill try this on the PS-2 first, just to see how Helix and the PS-2 sounds thru my Firehawk 1500.

Colonel the video you and I linked came from Fryette themselfs (I think). So it should work well. Glad you liked the Fryette PS too as most people do!
