It's accepted practice now to release equipment that has needed fixes after the sale. We (well most of us) consumers are our own worst enemy lol. And it's also the only way to get the add on's added later like new amps, effects etc.
-
It's just amazing when you have a drummer that understands dynamics! I've played out for over 35 years off and on, and only played with 2 like that.
-
He Sach, not Vai. I thought everyone knew that? : )
-
That's ok. I guess hearing aid sales people need to eat too.
-
While this might be unpopular, how about lowering the overall stage volume and let the FOH carry the loud stuff? This way you can actually hear your sound on stage along with everyone else's.

Thats not a dead horse, just a stubborn and reluctant one... I say beat him some more! :P

Thats good, Im glad you guys arnt ignoring it because you shipped my Helix (and everyone else's too) with a L6-Link port right on the back of it. BTW Its the same port thats on the back of the HD series too, with the same "trade marked" name. And if there are a myriad amount of threads about this issue as you say, then its fix is indeed a VERY popular one needed & requested and should then be implemented, correct? After all, one would think that the Line-6 Engineers wouldn't have taken the time and trouble to design and then mass produce a unit with the same port using the same "trade marked" name on the back of Helix (as is there on the HD series), without making their functions work the same too. So Im very GLAD you guys are not ignoring it. Otherwise it Kinda defeats to purpose of putting the time & effort in installing that port on Helix doesn't it? But there I go repeating myself again as well. ;)
-
Oh please, let me decide that one... ;) I know, but thought it was worth a try... :D
-
It does I agree. But it could be sooooo much better with the control software implemented that the HD series has.

LOL ! +1

Be a part of humanity or not, its up to you. But If you think what a group of like minded people say here (or anywhere else) doesn't really matter, then you might be the naive one (who also didn't pay much attention to the last election results). That white noise you speak of was sure heard loud and clear then huh. ;) All joke aside and after the problem is solved, fix yer gripes folks as its the right thing to do.

Guys, Just thinking out loud- I know that sometimes there are issues that either scare you or flat lollipop you off when Helix does not work as intended. I know it does me, because for most of us this unit is a chunk of change to spend. I do get it. I would also say that most often this is caused by user (human) error, or because another patch is needed to fix the patch that broke something. ;) In rare cases its a problem that needs addressed and or fixed by doing what is suggested by the users here, or by creating a ticket and shipping it to Line 6 for repairs. My point is this. When it is fixed and working correctly again, please modify your topic on the forums as FIXED, or at least state that this issue has been or will be solved! Why does all that matter? When new people look at these forums (and they do all the time) and see that issues are being or have been corrected, they are then not scared off of buying said product (by doom and gloom topics) , versus those posts that have not been rectified by a simple few words from the OP about issues no longer an issue. And whats the point of all my harping and brow beating on this you ask? Because as our numbers increase the more vocal (powerful) we become as a Helix user group, and as they decrease, the opposite is true. This number of Helix product users (US) tie directly hand in hand with how long our updates happen and support with Line 6 last. Its just common sense to want to increase our numbers here, and one of the easiest ways to do this on our part is to not scare OFF potential buyers with un warranted TOPIC DRAMA, just because we didn't take the time to RTFM when updating the firmware, and then we didn't take the time to admit it on a followup post. No harm intended and not pointing the finger at anyone specifically. :)

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flocks by night, and lo the angel of the Lord came upon them and the glory of the Lord shone round about them, and they were sore afraid, and the angel said unto them, "Fear not, for behold, I bring you tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David, a savior, tis Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you. You shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes lying in a manger."And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly hosts, praising God and saying, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men." That's what Christmas is all about, Charlie Brown. Yep, Thats what Christmas is all about. Merry Christmas all!

Well, maybe its just me then (very Possible). :P My parody is, I love new autos/vehicles. But what good are they to me if Im blind? Thats kinda the way I see this without the sound reinforcing from the editors settings. Why? Because you can have the most elaborate patch ever made, that could (and very well does) sound like crap because you cant hear the results. And hearing the results from the editors settings is the bottom line. Id rather Line 6 work on HD Amp (L6 Link control) integration, Workbench integration, New amps and cabs integration. As always YMMV. Oh, and Merry Christmas :D !!

Nice to know its coming... Sometimes you need to be a squeaky wheel to get the grease. ;)

Here is what I posted on idea scale. If you have the time to setup presets without the editor connected to Helix, than why don't you have the time to setup presets while connected to Helix? I don't understand this unless its a file management thing, and in that case I still think the time it would save is very minor, like less that a minute for an hours worth of use when connected? Setting up tones and patches in Helix requires listening to them, at some point. So wheres the time value added here?

Im just glad that you came back and stated it was a user issue and not a Helix one ro_san. You wouldn't believe the people that post a topic here about how Helix SUXs cause it did this or that (and when no one else has seen this issue before) , and then you never hear from them again, owning up to their own positive conclusions like you just did. +1.

http://www.harmonycentral.com/articles/using-avids-eleven-rack-with-asio-compatible-programs I stand corrected. Please forgive as I always just assumed this was the case. Thanks and Merry Christmas!

Its a simple concept really. Never buy a 2 wheel drive jeep when you need one with 4WD. That said, I also love any options that might be available now, or later. ;)

Makes no sense then to me, if everything is "clean" sounding using the Xlr and 1/4" outs. Sorry I cant help, call L6 or submit a ticket is my best advice atp.

Divorces are much more expensive than a good set of Head phones. ;) But even if you get a good set, that still wont change the fact that there will be differences as stated above, between listening thru headphones versus FRFR speakers/Cabs/Studio Monitors. You could just learn a few of her favorites. Thats easy for me to say, as my wife likes SRV, ZZTop, etc etc... :D

To me the Eleven Rack (Pro Tools exclusive Interface) sounded good, and I loved the Fenderish tones in it. But Helix is just miles ahead on flexibility of hookup, and on many patches tone wise. And u can switch between interfaces in most DAWs with a click or two of the mouse. So if you are running Pro Tools you can use other Audio interfaces (Like Helix, MOTU,Apollo, etc), but the Eleven Rack drivers for its audio Interface will only work with Pro Tools. I plan on using them both (for audio / guitar tones) as needed. You will like Helix if you decide to get it, as most do..
