  1. Im thinking he has the buffered guitar out connected to his K10.
  2. What Host are you not seeing Helix as an audio interface in?
  3. All FRFR speakers are not created equal. Yes I know that sounds like a misnomer but its not. You will have to "tweak" it to what sounds good to you, is the short answer. For example, I use a Firehawk 1500 and Im using the L/R monitor ins on it, but still had to adjust Helix to my ears, thru it.
  4. I usually use the tuner on the Helix foot controller when Helix is powered up. Why? Because It's less "accurate" as stated above, and therefore much less jumpy/jittery/buggy than whats shown on main Helix racks screen, its easier to read, tune from, and using it is a snap. I like the floor controllers tuner much more than the one shown in the rack. Now If I want to set intonation I use the strobe tuner on my Kemper. Why? Its just so much better in every way. If this is being read as me being disappointed in the comparisons and accuracy between the Helix and Kemper tuners, then you would have read me correctly and spot on. Period. The real issue for me is that Helix tuner doesn't have to be so accurate (as stated above) , to work correctly. ;)
  5. Yep mine works well with an ANKER powered hub. Running a late 2009 iMac with macOS Sierra version 10.12.1
  6. No issues here as usual. All smooth on the firmware and editor install. Now about that tuner for the editor...
  7. Well thats a nice alternate setup. Many people do like the FRFR setup with Helix. I use the Firehawk 1500 for that purpose with My Helix as well. But OTOH there are also hundreds (if not thousands) of DT series amp owners who would "look hard" at Helix if it had the same "software Control" setup in L6 Link as the older HD series currently have. Why is that software update for DT integration important for Helix users? For one, the more that buy Helix now that have a DT series amp, the more viable it becomes for product support in the years to come as it increases the user group for Helix, and thats just another way to assure this happens.
  8. I see no reason for not having both FRFR and DT50 integration. Best of both worlds. The point the OP made however, is knowing what Line-6 is doing with DT amp integration, or NOT doing. There no reason for Line 6 not to share this "status" other than they just don't want to. L6 Link is a "trademarked" idea fully implemented on other products, and has the exact same port on Helix, so its not like we are asking for something thats not there hardware wise. What we need is the "Control" side done to make the Trade Marked L6 Link "named" port on the back of Helix to function correctly.
  9. I have this one and like the tones feeding Helix into it. Dummy plug the guitar input and use the mono 1/4 out of Helix into the Vetta's Ruturn.

    Helix vs Pod

I owned an Ultra and an Axe FX XL II and kept them a few years. I now own a Helix and a Kemper, and play both thru a FireHawk 1500 and a pair of Mackie HR824 studio Monitors on occasion. Believe me Miguel, I understand. ;)

    Helix vs Pod

No, I doubt it was way off topic. The thread was about Helix versus Pod, I.E. Gibson versus an Epiphone. The two differences fit well in comparison I think.

    Helix vs Pod

Then "as said above" it must have been an Epi... The point is you can polish that Epi/Yugo/cubic zirconia till it shines and its still a lesser item and not a Gibson. I know how they both feel and play too, cause I own many of both. Do they both have a place in my world? Sure, I love um but you "mostly" get what you pay for is my next point. ;)

    Helix vs Pod

OTOH Ive not ever seen a low end Gibson Les Paul Custom. ;)

    Helix vs Pod

No reason to sigh. Like me, You finally understand. :P
  15. With Helix I love My Firehawk 1500! Sounds great to me. :D

    No update...

Try to update it from a whole nother computer. If it still messes up its a bad Helix unit most likey. If it updates then u have computer issues.
  17. And All along I thought it was because everyone was taller than we were...
  18. Many moons ago when I had dreams of Grand Funk Railroad playing at my Birthday bash, I played with my winter coat on, inside the establishment. Blizzard time outside and this old dive had a fireplace in the other room (with the booze). Of course the stage wasn't in that area lol. I think we had 3 people that night.
  19. Nothing wrong with more wanted options as long as it doesn't take from other more needed options. ;)
  20. Using a SLA 2 in bridged mode on a 2-12 cab and this works well for my Kemper. Using a Firehawk 1500 for Helix.
  21. I work on outside systems for a living. Temps effect them and they are made for outside installs. Every time there are temp swings (fall & spring especially) it effects them, and are not cheap made by any stretch of the imagination. Temps effect cold solder joints to control circuits & power supply voltage settings, lose wiring etc etc. It's just nature of the beast. In electronics, cold and heat changes can and will eventually degrade how well they work, now or later. ; )
  22. Does it matter if it is rack versus a floor unit?
  23. ANY Unsealed Electronics open to sudden air and humidity temp swings will "always" react. Keep moisture (beer) and non bedroom/studio temps away from Helix if possible. Heat and cold temp swings as well as wet is always bad for things that have current flowing through them, except maybe for eels.
