I wanted to see the latest Helix Firmware update with DT-AMP Integration. Im sure that Im alone in this however many there are that don't need this add in. And Im still hoping for this to happen later. That said, I started looking for "more" ways to incorporate my Line-6 DT series amp into my DAW, without tone losses and also be able to incorporate Helix effects (cabs verbs etc) at the same time. And I need a way to find the sweetspot tone at higher volumes with the DT-50 without making my neighbors deaf and sterile, while also using different cabs and mics etc etc.... I think I may have stumbled onto something... https://youtu.be/wQ0kdVJmj4I No, its not cheap, but what is when you are looking for the holy grail tone wise? And this thing ALSO comes with software called "the Wall of Sound III" which allows you to use the amps SPEAKER OUTPUT" tone (no cab) to feed this software using a reactive (not resistive) load to line out! Heres whats so cool- the software also has this in "plugin" form, including AU and VSTs and the software is both Mac and PC based. What does that all mean??? It means you can load it right up into your DAW of choice at 2 AM in the morning with your amp of choice CRANKED up (no cab) and feeding this into your headphones (or studio monitors) at whisper quiet levels!!!!! Run that line out of the Torpedo Live and into a Helix aux input for example, for all your "after the power section" effects as needed, or use others (UAD plugins or any others) etc etc. Can anyone see past the price tag here, on how much this thing could change the way u record your guitar using real amps and Helix in a recording studio?

If I dood it, I get a whippin... Ahhh hell, Happy ThanksGiving to ya bud.

Yep same to you and everyone- Happy Thanksgiving!

I own a Kemper, and Helix. I cant see needing another guitar processor for a while now, because what one cant do as well for me the other can. The only way for you to be certain about buying a Helix is to youtube and listen to one, or go to a place that has one and play thru one. But if you do the latter, take the time to tweak it because there is where the diamond shines.

There just needs to be an IR mapped/saved location file, like the setlist file is handled. As long as the software can find the IR file it then maps it back to the slot.

Thanks Silver. I never thought about it much, but was surprised when I read this considering the amount of time Variax has been out.
-
It wasn't. Neither did they do DT-50 integration. I can only assume that these are coming at a later date.

Nothing. Just using an example above as to why one group using X is no different (other than tastes and choice) than the other group using Y.

So... Line 6 Litigator inspired by boutique mid-gain amps - DISCUSS ! :)
spikey replied to d0stenning's topic in Helix
I turned on the gain pedal on this, adjusted to taste and then had to be told an hour later to stop playing and come eat! Lol I LOVE IT! -
What!!!??!! no tuner for my editor?!? ;)
-
I WAS RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Ive run them both ways. Depends on your ear, so adjust to taste.

oh yea... ! Good stuff! Around 1998. That was way before the lollipop commercials, and the ruining of television as we know it. Edit: Jerry Springer debut was 91...

Agreed- Need Oil for my compass and Im good to go! LOL Phil!

I have no need for a humility pill , but I can send you some. :P

I don't think you can judge the intelligence of those by what processor they use. If that were really the case, then all PC users are just stupid compared to Mac users. And you know what the PC group would then think about that... The same as I would. ;)

I have considered your post. A feature request? Would you like the stump your standing on included? I found your transmitter is keyed up and the receiver is shorted to ground. The arrogance is astounding and matched only by your inability to use the tools (for everyone here) given without getting crap on them just for lollipops and grins. You know, theres a way to voice your views without being destructive, and yes being nice is usually the way to agreements being made. OTOH you seem very astute for not being able to listen and learn, I grant you that much. You must have done this at some point. Oh Ive suffered from that as well so you are not alone my friend. Experience says to me that comes from knowing you know more than everyone else does. Sigh, so be it. I would very much enjoy having you with me in a fox hole fighting the enemy, because they wouldn't stand a chance! And then, after the carnage, never seeing each other again. Respectfully parting ways of course. ;)

Add a compressor at the end of the chain (before the delay and verb) and adjust for taste.

So your a team player eh?. Then you know by that experience you need to "work" with people (not by pointing out their faults or failures so BLUNTLY, but by getting them to look at the issues in a different and better way). Thats what all good "bosses", trainers and idea makers do man. Brow beating here doesn't work well with others. I know ;). So excuse me if thats how I come across when I say the way you act, you wouldn't last long on any kind of yellow belt or black belt team, or any team for that matter. So no, your approach doesn't work as you stated, if its done in the way you are doing it. It just tends to lollipop people off. Like Silver stated, you get more with honey, than with vinegar here, or anywhere. Every one hates a squeaky wheel even if it does need and get the grease bud. No one here is against improving what we have and so these ideas are indeed welcome, but slamming us with innuendos doesn't work. If you could just take that Helix/MUSIC passion and turn it into a more positive and friendly way, you would indeed be a force to be Reckoned with. Otherwise, your just another bright punk with an attitude. B)

Voicing an opinion versus being an arrogant asshat is different and treated as such. Yours Aaron was an opinion, and although I disagree on this time frame being the "same old Line 6", you at least we're civil in the discription. I don't remember having a guy from L6 here discussing sometimes in detail what might be coming before, like DI has. I don't recall an idea scale forum in which we could vote on what was important before. I've been here since before Variax's had alternate tuning, so trust me when I say that the sheer amount of info shared by Line6 today with us the customer base, is not the same old Line 6. Could Line6 do more? Sure. I don't know a company that doesn't have room for improvment. I too have stated that I wanted more info and more fixes faster right here, but that said, we have a lot more info than we ever got before, with a box that sounds just killer compared to what they ever released beforehand. And that is a positive in my book, even if it doesn't go as fast as we'd like at times.

What's Hilarious to me is you discussing someone else's attitude issues.
