  1. My idea is sort of kind of implemented but in a kludgy, wholly inelegant way. Easy to implement, not so much. My proposal was a simpler, easier to understand method.
  2. So, can someone please explain what's going on with the status of idea submissions? Two of my submissions have been moved to "In Review " and one was moved to "Released" and that one I can't find anymore! What up wid dat?!
  3. Graphical representation of the EQ curve. When editing an EQ block or even the Global EQ, it would be handy to be able to see at a glance what EQ settings are doing to the frequency spectrum. http://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Graphical-representation-of-the-EQ-curve/810465-23508?submitted=1
  4. Have you tried Cherry Picker? http://www.dontcrack.com/freeware/downloads.php/id/764/software/CherryPicker/
  5. DI seems to disagree with this and I don't understand why.
  6. Indeed. The JBL EON610s ROCK!! Love the two that I have.
  7. Really nice work, duncann. Love your lead tone and that's saying something as I'm not really a high gain type of player.
  8. Well, if you're expecting it to sound like an amp next to you, it won't. It's designed to sound like a properly miked amp in a room - like you would do in the studio. If you're totally addicted to the feel of an amp next to you, then you have to use the amp with the Helix. But that also means that an awful lot of its capabilities will never be used. I got over the amp thing when all the gigs I played required far more flexibility than any amp could provide.
  9. If you've had it set up to play through your amp, you'll have to readjust your patches to make them sound the way you like them on PA speakers. Cheap or expensive.
  10. To me, an amp and cab will never let you hear what the Helix is really doing and what it really sounds like. All of its myriad combinations of excellently modeled amps and cabs will be masked by the natural coloration of your amp. I think it keeps you from using the Helix to its full sonic potential. Find someone with a really good set of headphones you can borrow. Better yet, a pair of powered speakers.
  11. Straight to mixer and JBL EON610. Big Fat Sound.
  12. In terms of tone and more importantly (to me) feel, only one word comes to mind. IMPRESSIVE!!!

I agree, mostly. I'd have to have the Fenders too. They are really quite good. I've found that I really only ever use around 7-8 patches. It took me quite a while to figure out how to create an A/B footswitchable patch so I've pretty much backed off of editing for a while. When I get back to it, I'm hoping that I'll end up with only four patches. I know I've whinged quite a bit about how some things are implemented in the UI (and I still feel strongly about it), the sounds are undeniably wonderful.
  14. Isn't it just a circuit open/circuit closed type of switching system? I don't think there's an actual "Command" per se. If you have to original switch, you could pry off the bottom and use a multimeter to see what those foot switches do.
  15. Add Splits to the effects block list. Currently, the only way to create a split is to move an effect block down to initiate Path B. But if you liked the effects chain you've just created the way it was and you just want a second path, you have no choice but to move an effect down to create that second path. Wouldn't it be better if you could just crest a second path simply by inserting a split via the effects block list? http://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Add-the-Splits-to-the-Effects-Block-List/809596-23508
  16. A/B switching system between Path 1 and Path 2 via footswitch. http://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Allow-us-to-create-an-A-B-switch-between-Path-1-and-Path-2/809597-23508

    Path A/B

Won't there be a slight interrupt in the loop as you switch patches?

    Path A/B

Sorry for the rant, you guys. The Helix has been mostly fantastically intuitive which is why the things in it that are not are so diametrically opposite (to me) that it's infuriating.

    Path A/B

I did manage to create the patch I wanted, thanks, but it was mostly through trial and error. I now have a patch that uses the Taylor IR for the piezo bridge and a very cool, slightly overdriven lead sound for the magnetic pickups on my guitar.

    Path A/B

    . Well, no. Mostly it's that I don't get DI's explanation.

    Path A/B

I'm sorry. I must be completely stupid and/or this is some kind new logic (kinda like new math) but this and how it relates to using a footswitch to switch between Path 1 and Path 2 makes no sense to me. All I see is talk about the paths and their outputs. Please explain to this complete idiot where in this quote does it explain how you tell the footswitch to mute the signal of one path and not the other and vice versa. It's unbelievable to me that you guys actually think this makes sense.

    Path A/B

My apologies. I should have been clearer. I'd like to be able to route the incoming guitar signal to either Path 1 or Path 2 via foot switch.

    Path A/B

I want to be able to use a footswitch to switch between the two.

    Path A/B

It's the way they cover it in the manual that I have issue with so yes, I do not like the way things are represented. Yeah, I eventually figured it out but throughout the entire process, all I could think of was that there absolutely is a better way to explain this and a better way to represent it in the UI. I don't disagree that the Helix is largely intuitive... largely. But come on, let's at least admit that there are issues. This whole thing is a matter of having the time to explore the thing. I don't have a whole lot of time to spare and am usually pretty mentally tired when I get home. I'm thrilled that I was able to create the 7 patches of sounds that I use all the time in about 2 hours. That's astounding!!! Still, there will always be things that need improvement. I still think that the splits should be included in the effects block list. That said, answer me this. Is there a way to create an A/B split between paths 1 & 2?
