  1. Seems like you are using the old Variax Workbench program. With a Variax Standard you should be using the Workbench HD program.
  2. Either there is spare unused memory in Helix to be allocated for this purpose, or there is not. If so then by all means allocate it to some useful purpose - and an extended looper is one of many options. But if there is no available free resources what would you be prepared to give up for an extended looper?
  3. I have just measured a Pod HD Pro (not ProX) that I have on a shelf. It measures 7.25 inches in depth, from the back to the rack screws. The front knobs protrude about 0.5 inches further.
  4. Well, unfortunately (despite the whole point of Helix for you) the looper is what it is and it's not what you want it to be. I expect this suggestion is already in Ideascale. Search for it and vote it up, or add it as a new feature request. Meantime you can get an external looper or sell Helix and find another all-in-one solution that includes a fully featured looper that is operationally useable in terms of the tap dancing required (good luck with that!).
  5. I wasn't aware that the pedal could not be assigned to amp parameters. Are you sure about that? Have you checked the pedal assignment using the Firehawk app? It certainly sounds like it is assigned to the amp Drive parameter, and set to a mid-range sweep.
  6. Depends on your expectations and planned usage. Helix is designed primarily as an amp/FX modeling device. It is not designed primarily as a looping device. It is designed for, and works perfectly well as, a tool for practice and preset building. It is not designed for, and does not work particularly well as, a fully featured looper for live performances. If you want to use looping as a fundamental component of your live performances I suggest you get an external looping device that is designed for that purpose and use it in the Helix FX Loop.
  7. Perhaps the bugs relate only to the two new amp models in v2.50, which of course are not present in the HXFX product. Or maybe the HXFX will receive a v2.51 update soon. In either case if the bugs are present in HXFX they can't be too serious - I don't recall seeing any reports of that in the last few days.
  8. When I went to purchase a rack unit recently there were basically 2 sizes: deep and deeper. The less-deep one will be fine for the ProX.
  9. :D :D All too true. Thanks for the laugh!
  10. The ProX is the same form factor (dimensions) as the Pro.
  11. ... and the Pod HD ProX height is 2U.
  12. Line 6's build IS on the ramp. I think your employer and Line 6 use different sized ramps.
  13. I don't think there's necessarily a sound improvement - it depends on how your HD preset is configured with the Guitar input. You don't need a DI box with the Pod. For instance, you can use the Pad on guitar input if the incoming signal is too hot. Or you can use a compressor, or EQ, or studio preamp model, or...... There are various ways to process the signal within the Pod to pretty much do what a DI box does.
  14. Actually, that sounds like you still have tons of DSP remaining especially if you utilize both paths (DSP chips).
  15. First point: the complexity of the preset (including snapshots) is constrained by the overall DSP capacity of the device. Within that constraint you can have eight different configurations of the ONE signal path. You can't for instance have eight different amps/cabs involved; that requires way too much DSP. But in many cases you can have two as long as your other DSP demands are not too great. Nor can you, for instance, have the same compressor block in pre-amp position in one snapshot and in post-amp position in another. To do that you would have to use two instances of the compressor (DSP again) and turn each on/off alternately in each snapshot. Second point: The main advantage of the Helix Floor over Helix LT in a live situation, imho, is the presence and convenience of the scribble strips.
  16. Starting on pg 34..... https://line6.com/data/6/0a06439c975d5787c3e351aa0/application/pdf/Helix%202.0%20Owners%20Manual%20-%20Rev%20D%20-%20English%20.pdf
  17. That's what snapshots are for. And the lag is nowhere near a second..... more like 10-20 ms.
  18. Sure. Just make sure your HD preset input is set to Mic.
  19. No you don't have to use a new scene; you should be able to record at any time. Perhaps your media card/stick is full? Or you may need to rbe format? There can be a problem with playback. A recording must be played back using the same Setup (and Scene if Channel muting is involved). Otherwise you won't hear what was recorded properly due to extra or missing associations between the current Setup hardware inputs/channels and the recorded channels/file names. Also note that you can only use one digital input at a time. If the M20d is connected to your computer via USB the SD/USB stick inputs are disabled.
  20. My apologies, HonestOpinion. My post was intended in a much more light-hearted fashion than it came across. That's the trouble with attempted humour in black and white text. I have no issues with you or your suggestion. I just think it's a bit premature. Peace!
  21. Not only beyond highly unlikely. But even if successful, it would delay the any-day-now release to a several-months-from-now release. Yikes - I wouldn't want to be the one known to be responsible for that! Edit: To put it another way.... you're not really hoping that this release be postponed so that your suggestion be implemented, are you? If so - I strongly suggest you don't admit to it here! :P
  22. I suggest we all wait until v2.50 is released, see how the implementation serves our needs/desires, and then continue this discussion. Seems to me that voting in Ideascale to change an implementation that does not yet exist is jumping the gun a bit?
  23. You may need to configure your PC to use the Helix as the sound card for audio input and ouptut. After doing so you will no longer hear the sound from Logitech speakers unless you connect them to the Helix audio outputs.
  24. Actually, Helix Native is v1.50; v2.50 applies to the Helix devices.

    HX

Not sure what you mean. HX Edit is now available for the HXFX device as a librarian and preset transfer capability. It will become a full fledged editor, including preset edits, in the next release. Just like the original Helix editor - librarian features first, then full editing later.
