  1. You could try reinstalling the firmware. Back up any presets/setlists first as a precaution.
  2. I'm not sure of the exact size but one of the Allen keys that came with your guitar should fit exactly.
  3. Did you build these presets yourself or did you perhaps import them from some other source (e.g. Customtone)? Are you able to add the FX to the signal chain and they simply don't work, or are you unable to select them from the FX list because they are greyed out? If the latter, that indicates that you have reached the DSP limit in the preset.
  4. I'm not aware of a patch rebuild routine other than the 'Rebuilding Presets' procedure that is triggered each time you power on the Helix device. You should restart the device to force this procedure after downloading new presets, before beginning to edit them, especially if you experience strange behaviour like you describe.
  5. Presumably the .doc file contains the relevant info?
  6. I'm not sure I understand. You're right that these amp models do not include the reverb or vibe controls but you can add those FX separately to your signal chain. Are you saying that you are unable to add them?
  7. I suggest you do this before connecting the Helix, not after. The potential problem comes with delivering the phantom power to the Helix - which may damage the Helix. Cleaning up the symptom after the fact may be too late - the damage to Helix could already be done.
  8. ^^^^ This Trust your ears, stop tweaking and worrying about numbers, and allow yourself some peace of mind.
  9. I think it really depends on your personal circumstances and perhaps budget. If you need to record more simultaneous inputs/tracks then Helix USB supports (e.g. a whole band) then you need to buy a suitable separate audio interface and get along without using Helix re-amping directly. If you're a solo or duet studio recorder/performer then you can use Helix as the audio interface, take advantage of the direct re-amping, and save yourself some money. in my experience there's no appreciable difference in the recorded sound quality.
  10. Select the VOL pedal block. Go to its controller page and unassign EXP2 as its level controller. Alternatively, since it would no longer have a level controller you can simply delete the VOL block, or assign EXP1 as its controller.
  11. Line 6 recommends against using VDI and 1/4" simultaneously.
  12. No - it's a known issue that has been going on for a couple of weeks. Line 6 is working on it - apparently it's something very deep in their infrastructure and a fix is troublesome to nail down.
  13. Yes. Assign them to the same FS then save the preset with one of them on and the other off. Henceforth the FS will toggle between them, turning one on and the other off alternately.
  14. The Templates setlist is just another setlist. You have to copy/paste as you describe. You could add this suggestion to Ideascale.
  15. Try reinstalling the firmware using the usb/pc connection and the latest version of the Line 6 Updater utility.
  16. Make sure you download and install the Line 6 driver for your Firehawk. You need to use its ASIO driver when recording.
  17. Have you updated your Helix LT to the latest firmware? The FX you are talking about were added in firmware v2.52
  18. Personally I think a Copy function would be considered part of an Editor rather than a Librarian..... but whatever you want to call it you're right about the fact that it doesn't yet exist. ... but I think you can achieve the Copy function by Exporting and then Importing the preset.
  19. In general with digital cables there is no difference in the signal quality or characteristics between two working cables. The key word there is 'working'. A digital cable either works or it doesn't; one working cable can't work any 'better' than the other (despite what your local TV store salesman may tell you about the more expensive HDMI cables). However, VDI cables can differ with respect to their protective housing/shield at the ends of the cables as well as their flexibility/stiffness. The housing is important for cable longevity and connection stability. The stiffness is more a personal preference. I have only ever used an older style Line 6 VDI cable. The housing is very good but it still remains a little stiff after several years. I understand the newer Line 6 VDI cables are more flexible but I can't say for sure.
  20. Have you asked Line 6? Try opening a support ticket. Perhaps they'll provide you with the schematics.
  21. I would start with the retailer where you bought it. Ask for a replacement.
  22. Another difference that might be relevant is the Guitar In-Z parameter that applies only to the 1/4" Helix input. It is not available for the VDI input.
  23. Not me. Sounds like highly proprietary information that would end up in the public domain, warranty and registration notwithstanding.
