  1. You can see this for yourself in the Downloads section of this website. All firmware/software releases for all products show the release date. Fill your boots on analysis if you wish. I'd be interested in seeing a comparison of Helix firmware release frequency in the first two years compared to the POD HD and Pod X3 product series (ignoring primarily bug fix releases - just the 'more goodies' releases).
  2. codamedia is correct.
  3. You can open a support ticket here: https://line6.com/support/tickets/add.html
  4. I'm not 100% sure but I expect so. I own another Line 6 SD-card recording product (the M20d mixer). Its specs state a max 32GB card but I have no problem using a 64GB card. At the price of 4GB cards these days it's worth a try, and you can probably return it if it doesn't work.
  5. Yes. The driver is part of the package when you download the HX Edit installer. You must install the driver in order for HX Edit to work. Another part of the installer package is the Line 6 Updater program. You need to install that in order to perform a Helix device firmware update. You mentioned that you have installed the HX Edit program 3x. When doing that you should have been presented with an option to install the driver and Line 6 Updater. You should leave those boxes checked (the default) to ensure that these components are installed.
  6. As was mentioned this thread is very old, and several firmware updates have been released since it was started. I expect that some of the bugs reported early on are now solved, though I haven't done any investigation to quantify that claim.
  7. Yes, that's correct. Track 1 records the mono processed signal and Track 2 records the mono dry signal. Use the dry signal as the source for subsequent reamping. Connect your speakers/headphones to the Pod HD device to monitor the playback; the device becomes your computer's soundcard.
  8. What's your budget for speakers? Do you want studio monitors or PA speakers? Will your studio have a separate control room? Will it be exclusively a solo artist recording studio or also a performance venue? Provide as much info as you can, including other equipment the speakers will be connected to if that's defined yet.
  9. This preset is designed to output two mono channels - one wet (L channel) and one dry (R channel). You can use the Mixer block in the preset to pan the wet path L and R but then you will no longer be getting the dry signal in the R channel; it will be mixed with the R-side processing of the wet path. The issue is that the Pod HD ASIO driver delivers only 2 channels to the DAW - L and R. You can't simultaneously record a stereo wet signal and the mono dry signal. That's why my preset forces the wet processing path to a mono signal.
  10. To record an unprocessed sound use a preset with an empty processing path (no amp/fx). It's not totally unprocessed because there's an A/D conversion at the beginning but from there it's unprocessed digital all the way via USB to your DAW. Here's a Customtone HD500 patch I created some time ago for recording wet and dry simultaneously. https://line6.com/customtone/tone/2784034/
  11. An error message like that usually indicates a USB communication problem. Try using other USB ports on your computer. Avoid using a USB hub.
  12. What computer are you using? The Helix interface uses USB on both ends of the cable. I don't know if Firewire will work but others may have experience with that. As for stereo, use a stereo audio track in Cubase and select Helix USB channels 1+2 as the record input.
  13. Restoring the factory setlists may indeed overwrite your user setlists but I'm not sure. The safest thing to do would be to back up your individual user setlists before restoring the factory setlists. That way you can restore the user setlists afterwards if necessary. Worst case scenario: you have a set of backups that you don't need immediately. But it's always good practice to make regular backups.
  14. ... where are the lol emoticons when you need them???........
  15. If I understand you correctly I believe the signal routing options and features in Helix Native will allow you to do what you want in a single instance of Helix Native. In fact there are several ways to do it. For instance, each New Preset in Helix Native is an empty preset containing no processing blocks and with the Path 2 Input set to None. Change the Path 2 Input to Host and you now have two independent signal paths each with the mono guitar track as its input. I think this is what you want. You can pan each path hard L and hard R at the Output block if you wish, but be aware that both processing paths are stereo so doing that defeats any stereo processing blocks you may have placed in either path. For more details about signal routing options I refer you to the Helix Native Pilot's Guide, particularly the section entitled The Signal Flow Window.
  16. For future reference, there is a forum section here called the Line 6 Lounge. That's the best place for non-product-specific questions and discussions. As for the substance of your question.... I don't know!
  17. Check your license/agreement re: the Glenn DeLaune pack. Make sure you are authorized to resell or redistribute those presets. The fact that you paid for them probably restricts your right to redistribute them.
  18. Hmmm.... Are you sure the VDI cable is good? I would think Helix should at least power the V700 though I wouldn't expect it to provide any control. Just to test (not long term) you could try a standard RJ-45 Ethernet cable.
  19. Of course IP addresses can be spoofed. But to further assume that this was done in this situation is, I think, stretching things quite a bit. Sometimes the simple explanation is the correct one, especially when there's no actual evidence to the contrary. The simple explanation is that they are different people. I'll just leave it there.
  20. I just want to put this incorrect assumption to rest. According to the respective IP addresses (ddmilne and northerntwang) they are indeed different people.
  21. The manual (provided in OP link) says these Line Outs are only available on the Fender G-Dec-3 30 model; the OP has the 15 model. Perhaps he could connect the headphone jack on the amp to a Helix Return pair, using an adapter cable that has a 1/8" stereo minijack to a L/R 1/4" pair. Experiment with the Helix Global Settings > Ins/Outs (page 2) setting for the chosen Send/Return pair level: Instrument vs. Line.
  22. Right - I had missed the headphones jack. Thanks. Several years ago I was happy with a pair of 5" studio monitors until my Pod X3 Live blew one up. Just a warning about levels......
  23. I'm not sure there's any way to bypass the Fender amp speaker like theOP wants to do, short of physically disconnecting it. Also, the OP has the '15' model of the amp; seems only the '30' model has the Line Outs. Short answer: leave the Fender behind and learn to love Helix. There are far better sounds in there than you're likely to get from the Fender, although there will be a learning curve. EDIT: Be careful with the volume levels. I looked briefly at the iloud monitors jpg. I can't tell how large the speaker is but if less then 6" I think Helix could blow them up pretty easily. To get the best out of Helix you should consider upgrading your monitors.
