  1. I expect you would need to use Line 6 Updater -not Monkey - to update your JTV using Helix. But I haven't tried it so can't say for sure. I didn't update my JTV to v2.22 because it only applies to Variax Shuriken.
  2. I don't know what to say except to offer my sympathies and to suggest that you demand a full refund along with retailer-paid return shipping. Then never deal with that online retailer again. As to your questions, - the manual can be downloaded (see Support - Technical Support - Manuals) - yes, there should be Allen keys - the RJ-45 cable should be shielded at one end (the Variax end) but not the other end. Your Variax package should also include a Workbench HD hardware interface device, and a second cable. The RJ-45 cable is relatively short because it's purpose is to connect your guitar to the hardware interface when you want to use the Workbench HD software (downloadable here). The second cable is to connect the hardware device to your computer running Workbench.
  3. In the preset you are working with select the Input block. Set the Input to Multi or Variax. Set the Variax parameter to Per Preset (not Global). Although this parameter is associated with the Input block of each preset it is in fact a global parameter. This allows you to change the Variax model to a different setting for each preset. Now, within the preset, assign the Variax Model parameter to the Snapshot controller. You do this by simultaneously pushing and rotating the Variax Model parameter knob on Helix. You will see brackets appear around the Variax Model setting. For each Snapshot, set the Variax model as desired and SAVE the preset (hence the Snapshot's Variax Model setting) before you leave the snapshot to use a different Variax Model on the next Snapshot. Also, make sure you are using the most recent manual. You will find it in the Support - Technical Support - Manuals section of this website. It describes the use of Snapshots.
  4. Yes, this is expected behaviour. The "E" is an indicator that the Preset (not Snapshot) has been modified. By switching between Snapshots you are editing the Preset. You have changed it - unless you SAVE it the preset will not be recalled in its current state. It will be recalled in the previously saved state - I.e. with the original, not current, Snapshot selected. The "E" will only be removed by a SAVE operation, not by returning to the original Snapshot. Once a change has been detected the "E" is displayed and Helix does not track subsequent changes to try to detect when the preset may be back in its original state.

    HD Packs

Try running the Line 6 License Manager while logged in to your Line 6 account. The packs do not need to be downloaded and installed. They already exist in the firmware but are locked until a purchase license is registered in your account, which License Manager finds and uses to unlock the firmware components.
  6. The AT 2035 is a condenser mic, requiring phantom power. Do you have the phantom power on the UX2 activated?
  7. Oh. Now I know what you meant to say....... . I like hyperbole and exaggeration as much as the next guy. However, that doesn't change the fact that the only two experiences I've had were excellent.
  8. I agree that the OP should seek replacement rather than repair. But really..... you've had personal experience with most of the world's authorized service centres? The few you missed must have included the two I have personally dealt with, both of which provided timely and excellent service.
  9. I'm curious - what made you think it was an upgrade when you purchased the FHFX? Was it just because it was newer or was there something in the marketing materials that suggested it was an upgrade?
  10. Take it back and get a replacement. It sounds like a hardware problem, probably a faulty piezo.
  11. Or perhaps it would be better for Line 6 to simply remain silent about any new products under development? After all, if they had never mentioned Helix Native we wouldn't get all upset and give them grief over missing an anticipated release date. Maybe if they get too much grief they'll decide it's not worth keeping their users informed.
  12. Well, this is a support forum. That's what people do here- report their issues and seek help. Most people who don't experience any issues don't come here.
  13. You can update directly to v2.21
  14. We've been told that beta testing has begun. That means it's reasonably close, but it's also unpredictable. If beta testing goes smoothly and only relatively minor and non-critical issues are found, that can be readily fixed, it will be released 'soon'. However it's always possible, for any product, that beta testing might uncover something more serious that might result in a unanticipated delay. I'm sure we'll be kept up to date if that happens.
  15. I expect (but don't know for sure) that Line 6 has planned to protect themselves against this. Even if not it could be fixed quickly with an update that solves things. For instance, Helix Native could require that a Helix device be connected periodically (monthly? quarterly?) in order to keep operating. Any benefit from this user tactic would be short lived at best.
  16. Just to offer a second opinion, I agree with Rewolf48. Unless you never use, or anticipate using, even half the capacity of your Midas M32 you will find the M20d quite limited in its inputs. They're designed for quite different scales.
  17. Make sure your XLR outputs and speaker inputs level settings are matched (e.g. both set to Line level).

  19. I use the Line input pair on the rear panel of the Stagesource speaker.
  20. On the Downloads page select Helix in the middle (software) not left (products) field. Read and follow the instructoins carefully. When directed to download the editor program use the Get Download button at the bottom of the instructions panel.
  21. Yes. When connected via USB Helix becomes your computer's sound card. All audio coming from your computer will be heard through the Helix outputs, mixed with your Helix-generated guitar signal.
  22. I guess I misunderstood you - I thought you were talking about an automated feature. You're right - a manual feature could be done easily I would think. Ideascale?
  23. Exactly my point earlier. Helix has no sensing of external factors to determine this. The car doesn't need external sensing - it has its own internal info. And the audio systems Loudness function has to be manually engaged, as would Helix's if it chose to implement the equivalent of a Loudness feature.
