You add Send Return blocks to the signal path using the editor in the same way that you add any other block. Here's a snip from page 9 in the Helix App manual: To add any type of block to your tone, simply hover your mouse cursor over the desired location on any path and you'll see an empty block location appear. Once you select the location, choose any type of block from the Model List Menu in the lower portion of the Home panel. http://line6.com/data/6/0a06439c4dbd577d594db0bd0/application/pdf/Helix%20App%20Pilots%20Guide%20-%20Rev%20B%20-%20English%20.pdf

Running POD Farm 2 on multiple computers?
silverhead replied to Juhgu's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
The license you have requires that the KB37 be connected; it won't work without the KB37. If you purchase a license for the hardware independent versoin of Pod Farm you will not need a Line 6 audio interface device connected; any audio interface device that supports ASIO will work (but you still need an audio interface device). -
See sections 3 or 4 depending on whether you are using Pod Farm as a plugin or standalone..... http://line6.com/data/6/0a060b316ac34f0593ccf3e0a/application/pdf/POD%20Farm%202%20Recording%20Setup%20Guide%20%20-%20English%20(%20Rev%20A%20).pdf There are also other Pod Farm manuals. See the Support tab at the top of this page, then Technical Support, then Manuals.

In Pod Farm go to the Mixer page and make sure you have selected the Mic as input.

Here is a statement from the user manual: "Looper mode is only available if a Looper block has been assigned to a footswitch in Stomp mode." Without Helix Control you have no footswitches; hence, no looper mode. It might be possible using an external midi controller but I'm not sure.

The Firehawk FX does not support a split/dual signal path. You can use two delays in-line, but I know that's not what you want.
-
You can connect Helix but your computer will not recognize it until you have followed the instructions provided by DunedinDragon above.

Glad things went well for you. You're clearly an experienced player (we couldn't tell from your original post, of course) and I'm sure that contributed a great deal to your ability to make things work so quickly. You were brave! I'm sure you'll have lots of fun in the next weeks and months while learning to coax ever improving tones from Helix!

Log into Customtone separately using the Account icon at the top right of the main Customtone page. Use your normal Line 6 Account login info. After logging in you will see a tab at the top of the page named My Tones. Click on that and the tone editing functions will appear.

Pod Farm - plugin sounds dry - records wet
silverhead replied to markcline321's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
It's sometimes called Record Monitoring. It allows you to monitor the recorded sound (post Pod Farm processing) rather than the dry input signal (pre Pod Farm processing). Inevitably there will be some latency due to the time required to process the signal; you will not hear the recorded sound until a few milliseconds after you pluck the guitar string(s). -
You can use the Xt Live as a Workbench interface for the Variax 500, not the HD. You should use a VDI cable (shielded at both ends).

What's the rush? Why not stick with your analog rig for one more practice? While things may work out OK you are exposing yourself to a potentially embarrassing situation. I hope you know your band mates well, and that they will be patient while waiting for you to figure out some of the basics on the fly. Take the time you need to gain some experience and confidence before putting needless pressure on yourself. Moving from analog to digital takes more than an hour.

Place the looper block at the end of the signal chain (post position).
-
Check the input settings.

Yes, it's been discussed forever but the 'fix' is still misunderstood. What's required to resolve this issue is to have two independent processors in the device and only use one at a time for any preset. The other processor remains idle, waiting for the user to change presets. At that time the idle processor is loaded with the new preset while the active processor keeps producing sound. A few milliseconds later, when loading is complete, the previously idle processor becomes active with the new preset, and the previously active processor becomes idle, awaiting another preset change. It's not a simple choice of amps/effects vs. processing power. It's a choice of the number of internal processors and their use. You can't eliminate the gap on a POD HD device by reducing the number of amp/fx selections. It is a single processor device and the gap is unavoidable while a new preset is being loaded. Helix, being a dual processor device, could be turned into a no-delay-between-presets device. The cost would be that it would effectively become a single processor device. The current ability to use two independent processors simultaneously would be removed. Each preset would be constrained to use only one processor while the second processor would be used for the instantaneous preset switching as described above. To me that's much too high a cost to save a few mIlliseconds latency.

Sorry - see my edit to the previous post. I was clearly confused at the time. Apologies.

- use the joystick to select the Boostr FX block - using your finger, touch (don't press) the desired footswitch - when the screen display changes select CONFIRM - select the Delay FX block - touch the same footswitch. Select the Merge (not Replace) parameter then select Confirm again.

As an alternative, try left-clicking and holding on the setlist name then drag the mouse pointer slightly before releasing the mouse button. This should also highlight the setlist name for editing.

Yes. I do this routinely. You can use each device's parameters and DSP independently but there is no parameter control between them. For instance you cannot control a Helix Delay parameter using the M20d, but you could choose to use no Delay block in the Helix preset and use an M20d Delay instead. I prefer to do all the signal processing on Helix. I use the M20d HD500 factory preset for the Helix input channel. It is designed to provide little or no DSP to the incoming signal, assuming the external guitar processor is doing all the work. EDIT: disregard the above. It is completely wrong. I don't know what I was thinking. I routinely connect my Helix to the Stagesource speakers and I must have had that thought in mind. But the M20d has only an L6 Link Output, not input. You cannot connect the Helix to the M20d using L6 Link. Apologies.

Stagesource speakers with Midas M32
silverhead replied to Kehatrong123's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
As SiWatts69 indicated your Midas M32 cannot communicate via L6 with the Stagesource speakers. The M32 does not have an L6 Link digital output; you need to use its analog outputs, which also happen to be XLR but do not handle the proprietary L6 Link protocol. -
Try renaming the setlist using the HD500x device or the editor. I believe the setlist name is encoded in the setlist data, and backing up the setlist uses that data as the filename. But if you change the filename the original name is still in the seltist file data and that's what is used on import.
