Make sure you don't have the Lock Tone 2 feature activated.

In Scenario 2 you should also connect the L6 Link Out of speaker 2 to the L6 Link In of speaker 1. This 2-way L6 Link connection between the two speakers should provide full stereo separation of the stereo analog inputs to both speakers. And, yes, you are right that if you are only connecting the Helix XLR L to speaker 1 then you will not hear stereo because you are only feeding the speaker a mono signal. Connect both L and R Helix outputs (XLR or 1/4") to speaker 1 analog stereo inputs. Edit: The configuration I am talking about is illustrated as the Small Club Duet setup shown on page 15 of the manual..... http://line6.com/data/6/0a06434d11a9d5100786314cca/application/pdf/StageSource%20L2%20Quick%20Start%20Guide%20-%20English%20(%20Rev%20F%20).pdf

I use the same setup with 2 L3t and have no problems re: stereo. The reason they show 1 and 2 instead of L and R is that they are not operating as a stereo pair for all inputs although the L6 Link In signal is routed in stereo. Other potential inputs are not. This setup is not as flexible as connecting the speakers together in a bi-directional L6 Link manner in which case they will be shown as L and R. Connect Helix to one of the speaker's rear panel analog inputs. This method will allow you to use all the analog inputs in both speakers and have full stereo. The setup you describe does not permit inputs from speaker #2 to be heard in both speakers; the signal from these inputs can't get to speaker #1 because it's L6Link In is already in use by Helix.

Will the Helix be able to replace my Focusrite Scarlett 2i2?
silverhead replied to rushfan3's topic in Helix
Helix provides many simultaneous USB Send signals for recording to a DAW. You will probably be restricted more by your DAW than by Helix. With respect to your specific question Helix can simultaneously and independently send both the wet and dry guitar and vocal signals over USB so that you can record four separate tracks in your DAW: two stereo (wet guitar and wet vocal) and two mono (dry guitar and dry vocal for later reamping if desired). Whether your DAW and your computer can support that in terms of multi-track recording capability and processing power is a different matter. -
Audio from USB through L6 Link??
silverhead replied to podman01's topic in Dream Rig - Line 6 Product Integration
Here's a snip from the HD500X manual in the section titled "USB Audio": 'Note that all USB audio is muted whenever a L6 LINK connection is active between POD HD500X and a DT50 or DT25 amplifier.' I expect the same is true for the L3 speakers so I think the answer to your question is No. -
Or maybe get a small mixer? Connect the outputs of both Helix and Presonus (and your laptop if your wish) to the mixer inputs and connect your monitors to the mixer outputs. You will never have to swap cables - just use whatever audio device you want at any time and it's sound will go through the mixer to the monitors.
-
It's also effective to back up/restore setlists rather than (or in addition to) individual presets, but as jbuhajla says backing up and restoring the entire bundle is not recommended.
-
That's the main issue right there. The device you connect your monitors to must be set as the sound card for producing the audio. If this is not Helix then the sound produced by Helix is routed through another sound card before you hear it, along with additional D/A and A/D conversions. Unless you have a very high end sound card that is superior to Helix (unlikely) the sound quality you hear will be inferior to the sound Helix is producing. Certainly the factory installed sound card in a typical commercial laptop is far inferior to Helix. Why do you want to listen to an inferior sound quality?
-
Make sure Audacity is configured to use the Helix ASIO driver, not the default ASIO4ALL. Then connect your monitors/headphones to the Helix outputs and turn your software monitoring off. For recording vocals you will want to use headphones for monitoring. Otherwise the mic will pick up the backing tracks from the monitors.

You're right. That's why Line 6 is working on a true fix for this. Since there is a workaround, and since the bug is not generally present and reproducibie in all Reaper environments (I believe I was the only beta tester who encountered it), this bug was not deemed a show-stopper in terms of the public release of Helix Native. I don't know when a fix will be available but in the meantime people who encounter this issue can use the workaround while everyone else has Helix Native sooner rather than later. (P.S. I see from another thread that the same workaround also seems to resolve a similar issue with Cubase 9 Pro, not only Reaper).

Each snapshot would correspond to a different instance of Helix Native in your DAW. Here's what the manual says about this..... note the reference to the last saved snapshot. There are other interesting things in the manual too! 😉 Snapshot Assignments At this time, Helix hardware "Snapshots" are not supported in Helix Native. Therefore, if you import a preset exported from Helix hardware that includes snapshot controller as- signments, the preset will load within Helix Native with the last-saved snapshot and its settings in use. Edits that you make to options that may a ect the snapshot-assigned options (such as the bypass state of blocks, parameter values, etc.) will overwrite the snapshot controller settings within the loaded snapshot. No Snapshot other than the loaded one is otherwise a ected, thus all other snapshot data is retained in the preset when exported from Helix Native and imported back into Helix hardware. Within Helix devices, it is possible to create & customize up to 8 Snapshots within a preset by way of assigning parameters to special "Snapshot Controllers." Snapshots can store of a set of options (e.g. - a block's bypass state, up to 64 assigned parameter values, tempo settings and more).

Glad it worked for you! Credit to the Line 6 Helix Native beta test support team. The lead guy on the Line 6 test team worked with me individually to resolve this for hours, even taking remote control of my PC during two different real-time phone/tech sessions, and eventually came up with the workaround in one of those moments of brilliance and insight. I remember him saying something like 'Hmm.... let's just try this for kicks'. I had a suspicion that I would not be the only one in the world to face this problem when the public release hit the streets so I was kinda looking out for a thread like this. As for the free copy of Helix Native..... I can't say.....😀

Make sure you are using the latest version of HD500X Edit.

Yes - that's it.

During beta testing I had a similar problem. Reaper v5.4 running under Windows 10 would consistently crash during startup whenever an instance of Helix Native was present in the Reaper project file. If there was no instance of Helix Native in the project file Reaper would start up normally but would then crash on the first attempt to load an instance of Helix Native. This behaviour persisted through several different beta software versions and several different uninstall/reinstall cycles of both Reaper and Helix Native. The problem was not repeatable by the Line 6 Beta Support team; it was definitely something unique to my installation. The solution to the problem ended up being to uninstall Helix Native, download and install another DAW (we used the trial version of Sonar Platinum), Download and install Helix Native again, and then use the new DAW to launch Helix Native for the first time. This somehow allowed the Helix Native files to initialize properly. We closed the new DAW program immediately. Thereafter Reaper worked normally. We never did track down the actual issue but there was clearly some initialization problem with my installation of Reaper in conjunction with Helix Native. We anticipated that someone else might encounter this issue at some point. Please try the workaround described above (initialize Helix Native with another DAW) and let us know if it works for you.

Click on the Helix Native logo at the bottom of the screen. In the subsequent Settings window click on Restore Factory Setlists. From the manual, page 34: Restore Factory Setlists: - Clears only Setlists 1, 2 & 8 and replaces them with the Factory Setlists 1, 2 & 8 included with the currently installed version of Helix Native. All of your presets within any other Setlists remain unaffected.

Yes, it's available as of 29 mins ago. -
Not able to reliably change Variax models with Helix
silverhead replied to Mooseboy08's topic in Helix
Just to test and narrow things down...... Do you get the same behaviour when you disconnect USB and take the editor out of the equation? Try doing the same thing on the device directly. -
Also, be sure that the Helix output level is set to Line (see Global Settings -> Ins/Outs).

Can I mix a L3T with a L2T or L2M?
silverhead replied to slhess's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
That setup would work best if you connect the Helix LT to the L3t using its rear panel analog connections rather than using L6 Link. Use the L6 Link connections to connect the two speakers together in a 2-way L6 Link connection - the OUT of each speaker to the IN of the other. That way you can use the side panel mixers and all inputs of both the L3t and the L2t/m and all inputs will be routed properly in stereo to both speakers. There is no need for a 'master' speaker. Connecting the Helix to the L3t via L6 Link means no inputs from the L2t/m speaker can be routed to the L3t speaker because its L6 Link IN connection is already in use. -
The good news is that you will have a free trial period fore deciding to purchase. You will be able to answer this question for yourself very quickly after the initial release of Helix Native - which will be very soon!

Wanted - Variax VDI Jack Socket
silverhead replied to Mark_Redfern's topic in Variax Guitars / Bass / Workbench
I don't know if any of the spring-cap parts are compatible with the V700 Acoustic. I do know that each of the JTV series has their own specific jack socket, none of which seem to match your photo (other wires/assembly in addition to the ground wire). Are any of them compatible with the V700? Not sure. http://store.line6.com/parts/guitars.html
