  1. This sounds like the same symptom described here: http://line6.com/support/topic/29514-delay-glitch-when-choosing-another-snapshot-with-different-delay-time/ See my explanation and remedy in post #2.
  2. I'm more concerned about my edited strikethrough/replacement than presets. Just sayin' - it's pretty common practice these days for others to exploit any information you willingly offer. Facebook, Google, Twitter, Snapchat, etc. come to mind.
  3. I would open a support ticket. Sounds like a hardware failure, given the troubleshooting you've done.
  4. You may be disappointed if you are expecting to find Customtone presets that many people agree are 'the best'. There are so many external factors, in addition to the specific preset, that affect the overall tone that it's highly unlikely that you hear exactly the same sound that the preset creator thought was so good he/she wanted to share it on Customtone. Some of these external factors include type of guitar, its pickups and their switch setting, string gauge, playing style, monitoring amp or speakers, room acoustics, presence or absence of other players, listening volume, ...... and the list goes on. That's why in most cases you will download a tone based on its name or description and find that it sounds nothing like what you expected. However, it probably did sound much like you would expect to the tone creator. You will find that you need to tweak most presets to get them to sound good in your environment with your equipment. Occasionally you will find a preset that needs little or no tweaking but that is a rarity and often a testament to the skill of the tone creator. Customtone is very useful as a learning tool. You can get useful ideas about preset configuration and routing options that can help you learn to design presets that appeal to you. But in the end you will probably find that creating your own presets is more rewarding.
  5. It sounds like your Pod Farm license came for free, bundled with the purchase of your UX2. In that case you need to have the UX2 connected to your computer in order for the license to be recognized. If you want to use Pod Farm 2.5 with another audio interface you will need to purchase a hardware independent license for Pod Farm. For Line 6 the business model is: buy one of our interfaces and get Pod Farm for free. If you choose to use a non-Line 6 interface you have to pay for Pod Farm.
  6. Here's a snip from the Helix Native Terms and Conditions: (http://shop.line6.com/helixnativeterms.html) Eligible Products must be purchased as new from an authorized Line 6 reseller (an “Authorized Resellerâ€). Purchases of Eligible Products from online auctions are not eligible for this Offer. Eligible Products do not include refurbished products, “b-stock†items, open box items or returns sold “as isâ€, or other non-new products. Eligible Products must be owned by the Qualified Purchaser for a period of no less than one hundred eighty (180) days in order to qualify for the Promotional Savings. It seems to me that your used Helix device will not qualify for the Helix Native discount even if the original owner did not use it. Note the180-day minimum ownership requirement. This discourages short-term buy/sell of Helix devices simply to qualify for the discount. Line 6 tracks this and will/has revoked the discounted Helix Native license. For example, if the original owner of your Helix immediately obtained a Helix Native license and then sold/returned the Helix device in less than 180 days (not saying this is true) Line 6 will revoke the associated Helix Native license from the original owner if they discover the fact that the device was sold within the 180-day period. They would discover this when you register your new-to-you Helix device, specifying the already used serial number.
  7. Helix control works only with Helix Rack. It does not connect to or communicate with Helix Floor.
  8. For those who may find this post confusing ...... he is replying to a post I made and then deleted because I discovered that the poles I mentioned in my post are not suitable for this purpose. The OP clearly saw my post during the minute or two that it was active and he responded. The reason the poles are not suitable is that, as Rewolf48 points out, the L3m does not have the threaded hole to accept the screw-mount pole. The poles are designed for the L3s.
  9. Review your global settings for footswitches. My guess is that you are in an unfamiliar operating mode - perhaps the 10 Stomps mode - and you're working in presets that have no FX assigned to footswitches. In that case your display will be blank and there will be no effect when you stomp on any switch. Try hitting the MODE switch and see what happens.
  10. The same is true for Helix Rack and Control. There's a global setting to activate the capacitance feature. The setting is called Touch Select in Global Settings > Footswitches.
  11. No. The FBV3 stores no tones; it's just a controller as you suspected. The tones you are referring to are the factory presets in the Amplifi device which were restored when you reset it. Not sure why they weren't there earlier - they had to have been deleted at some point.
  12. Make sure you are using v2.21 of both Helix firmware and the Helix app/editor. To check the editor version use the About Helix selection under the Help tab.
  13. No, there's no facility to do that afaik. I find it takes a bit of careful attention to keep track of synchronized presets. That's because there are three distinct areas where the respective presets can live, at least as I understand it. 1) Arbitrary folders on your computer. Both the Helix app and Helix Native let you save and load presets to/from anywhere on your computer disk. If you use different folders you have to track these manually in order to transfer the presets between the Helix device and Helix Native. 2) The Helix Native preset library. This space is maintained by Helix Native. You can import a preset from a computer folder as above, edit it, and then save it to the Helix Native library. You now have two different versions of the same-named preset in two different locations. 3) Your DAW session file. You can be working on a preset in your DAW session that originated from either of the above two locations .You can make changes to it within your DAW session and not save those changes to either or both of your computer folder and/or the Helix Native library. If you then save the session file and exit your DAW you will have a third different version of a preset with the same name in a third location (within the DAW). It can get confusing.
  14. I'm not sure there's anything to 'fix'. This sounds like the kind of behaviour I would expect if I were to manually change a delay time instantaneously while the delay is on. This is exactly what's happening when you change snapshots as described. To experiment try changing the delay time manually while in the first snapshot. Without changing snapshots, quickly change the delay time parameter by rotating the associated knob. What do you hear? I would think that is normal behaviour and the same thing would happen with the modelled analog pedal. Have you tried using two different instances of the delay FX with the different delay times in each snapshot? Leave trails on but setup the snapshots so that only one delay is active at a time. That way you won't actually be changing the delay time parameter in the same instance of the FX; you will be turning one off (still hearing its delay trails) while turning the other on.
  15. I also use my Helix/Variax combo like mdmayfield and spacereacer986 so the option you would like is not something I would use. I only post this because you asked for other opinions, not to discourage your suggestion. For me I am either using Helix in a setlist-type situation where each preset dials in a specific Variax model, or I am freewheeling and dialing in models manually on any given preset. In the latter case it doesn't matter to me where the dial happens to be when I change presets - I will change the model knob position anyway.
  16. Yes you can download the Workbench HD software - and it works!
  17. It's done using Line 6 Monkey and an appropriate Variax interface device. http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/guitars/variax-guitars-bass-workbench/variax-reflash-and-software-update-instructions-r309
  18. They were programmed using Workbench which supports alternate tuning built in to the stored model. Later Variax guitars, beginning with the JTV series, allow alternate tuning to be applied independently from the stored model.
  19. What type of Variax do you have? Make sure you are running the latest firmware for that type of Variax. What are the Variax settings that you are using in the Helix preset(s)? Are there any specific Variax models that sound best/worst?
  20. There's also a third area where presets are stored - the DAW session file which retains the preset settings as they were when you closed and saved the DAW program, whether or not you specifically saved this preset in either the disk or Helix Native Library. So you can potentially have different versions of a preset with the same name in three different locations: the Save to Disk location, the Helix Native Preset Library, and a DAW session file.
  21. Here's a snip from the DL4 manual that may be relevant: True Bypass & Alternate Bypass Stomp Box Modelers include mechanically switching relays that switch in when you bypass the pedal (by kicking the stomp switch to turn off the memory you are using). These relays route your signal directly from input jack to output jack, around all the circuitry, for absolutely no processing or analog-to-digital conversion while in bypass. There’s also an alternate bypass mode available that keeps the DSP engaged while bypassed, so with the Delay modeler, for instance, your delays can trail away when you kick the pedal off. If you want this Alternate Bypass mode, hold the first and third (from the left) stomp switches while plugging in the left/mono guitar input. (When the left/mono input is unplugged, your pedal is powered off.) Your pedal will remember to stay in this Alternate Bypass mode until you re-enable True Bypass.
  22. I use a basic Gator 4-space rack. Like PeterHamm I use the extra depth for cable storage.
  23. Make sure the Input setting on the Helix preset is set to a single value, matching the physical input of the instrument you are tuning. For instance, set it to Guitar not Multi.
  24. The POD X3 uses the same modeling technology as the POD XT. The differences can be found in the two product descriptions on this website. The main difference is that the X3 is a dual-tone device. For answers to your question check the Models manual for each. http://line6.com/legacy/podx3pro http://line6.com/legacy/podxtpro
