Pod Farm settings to clean up echo
BillBee replied to sqitso's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
In the "band room" we've used a roll of carpet padding and unraveled it betwixt two PA poles (not the best but it was cheap and helped). Walls and floors are the easy parts to try and knock down "the bounce". Heated garage? or is that a regulated "historic" too. TBH the drum shield help my hearing the best. We set a huge furniture blanket up behind to help knock that down. -
I've only used the offline mode to see what is in a chain so I can manually dial something in. Yep, its when ole Bill gets lazy and doesn't want to connect the usb to see how a different patch was set (while knowing what it already sounds like).

The usb/pc interface is the HD and I do understand what you mean.

There is a 1/4 male (2) to a single 1/8" stereo jack where you can use the l/r outs. the 1/8" to 1/8" adaptor should be stereo not mono unless it doesn't fit really well (some don't). As far as Reaper it should be straight forward to select your input. The manual for it is pretty good. -
My fave Beck period too btw.
-
Didn't Beck also use an H&K Tubemeister at one point and considering the vast (jazz to rock) styles he does it could be a chore to nail a general tone for him.

Malakas everywhere and no manamoos. :)

+1 to Nico. :D

Yep - we are all wankers at heart. :) My Greek is bad enough to get me slapped (or a drink).
-
Arislaf, one of my best buddies was from Athens and as he explained we are all malakas at heart!

For me it depends on the amp I use (and I hope we are talking sims here not the real deal). If I use a clean amp I might want to use the tone characteristics of the pedal. Like a cranked Rat into a Fender sim. But if its an amp that I want to shine with its characteristics I usually go to a Tubescreamer and crank the vol while having the drive at or near 0%. Like Nico pointed out: Try not to get in the habit of cranking everything to 10 as gain/distortion can lead to diminishing returns. What is nice at bedroom volumes will have its EQ skewed by the time your amplification choice has it at gig volume. There are a couple really good threads here which can help take out the excessive lows and highs.

If its a red faced toneport that probably is the case. Still a great interface to use with PF. Go to the downloads area and get a copy of Pod Farm 1 its free. :)

Malakas by the sea & Vlahos in the hills. :) Yep, when some frets oxidize they turn green.

Awesome! We were doing Young Lust for a while and I really was digging the Gilmore licks (that does sound awkward). That is one thing I really dig about covers is the variety of styles and exposure to different music.
-
It was probably a setting that was reset on the reflash. Keep that in mind when you make changes, if it occurs again look at what was changed just prior. For the most part amp's don't really care if PUs are active or not. Some passive PUs can have a real strong signal too.

Its a great idea but its tough to find real specific tones that translate between rigs. The best way of building a patch is to look up the guy's rig and see what he is using. Sometimes you can find the details of the pedal chain too. Guitar World used to do a rig rundown and go through the details.
-
I still have one of those somewhere and I would say its almost like a Rat but not as bitey - smoother but still had punch. The EQ the pedal has make it really useable - when Marshall came out with the V2 of the pedal (the smaller stompbox sized one) the mojo seemed to vanish as the overall tone changed. The Shredmaster (full tilt distortion) and Drivemaster (more OD) ones were real nice too.

I have the same one - its a real decent case. IIRC Velcro will stick to one side too.

Well I am not going to dispute "The Man" ^ FWIW I picked up a "chopped" SV MKI 2x12 which had no cab attached anymore and use its aux outputs to power external cabs. I had no choice you do. -
Its because your HD was full of pictures of Uranus. :D

I snipped that part about the chassis out per P.
