Does the X3 have any output to an amp/monitor etc? Sometimes when they go bad there is no output but things look fine. But like SH sez check your settings first.

LoL! Its all good my man and it happens to more of us then we are willing to admit. ;)

I mean there are a couple caps inside that can screw up things but the $ of a used one is so low its not worth the effort unless you can DIY.
-
Did you try a different power supply? Those bricks do go bad.

Hmmm I know about flash memory but I don't "know" flash memory that's why I asked. I was wondering if a certain address was knackered (if possible), I don't think its firmware either then. No Variax here btw just the HD. Is there any commonality those 3 patches have? Hitting "Save" on the unit itself will save the settings - we know that. Maybe someone with a Variax will try those 3 offenders out for you and report back.

Dude, I know the link Jandrio posted is really tempting but skip it. Been there and suffered through so many bad patches I just deleted them all. I remember someone put one called Hillsong (IIRC) many many many times again and again - I just loading them to find out "why" and it was just the same bad patch. Its better the cherry pick and DL some of the higher ranked ones for tweaking to your rig. But on the other hand if you have multiple pods it is one way to get every bad patch across the generations in one step.

Does this phenom occur even when the patches are saved to different locations?

I am about to call Shenanigians! We know Cruisinon2 has a hairdoll collection but no-one keeps a used bandage collection next to toenail clippings - no-one.

POD 2.0 and POD Pro the same sounds?
BillBee replied to bcnx's topic in POD 2.0, POD XT, Pocket POD, FloorPODs
@BC - just a wee bit of added price. :D -
Yep, just watch pedal assignments too so double check everything if its a back-up rig. No sense demonstrating that "this one goes to 11" :D

Spikey: That would be "fuse emulator". BTW for the OP don't open that Chassis as usually doing so voids the warranty. Even if you know It I had to say it.
-
I get ya C! The real issue is that the Helix has NOT had a fuse emulator update and L6 is refusing to address the issue - check Ideascale its nowhere to be seen. Deal breaker?
-
Delete this thread - double post.
-
Yes, depending on how much DSP the X uses.
-
I hear ya, wrong one = dead pedal 9/10. :)
-
I am still on page 14 of the Axe fuse Vs Helix fuse thread.

The DC1g is THE supply for it. 9v DC. IIRC the "g" was added to denote the newer dc-1 was "green". The specs are on the L6 Echo Park page.

Volume continually cuts out after power on

Sorry to hear that my man. There are a few things short of a service call you can try. It could dirty pots - with the XT off turn cw many times then ccw I'd start with the vol ones. Try "parking the knobs" - have them all at 0% then start the XT. Last gasp would be try a diff power supply (long shot) and maybe a shot of DeOxit on a cable end then slide it in and out of the jack. If all else fails - go up top and click Support and see what the boys at L6 say via a Support Ticket. -

Check out the HD Bean - you might have to find one used though. Check out the manual too as things are different from the XT like no midi. Though its current (sort of) being of the HD series it is out of production.- 1 reply
