A) You have to run the L6 License Manager to get the packs reauthorized. The driver should not have done that - firmware maybe but it is what it is at this point. You should have the purchase linked to your account. Like when you first authorized them for the unit. b) Who knows about the lcd the contrast controls going? loose ribbon connector inside. Glad it works. c) The * thing it happens. The sound can vibrate a knob and that will pop up. Not a big deal if it isn't changing the sound. Sometimes I will spin the encoders ccw and then cw a bunch of times to help clear up any dust that might cause that (unit off btw).

Use License Manager for POD Farm?
BillBee replied to fireberd's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
As far as I have seen, "nope" the ILOK is the authorizing dongle. Sending an email to L6 would be the way to go if you lost your key.- 1 reply

www.soundonsound.com in their Classic Tracks articles covered Every Breath You take and I suggest you google it up and read it. Its a good glimpse into the Police and what was done to capture that track at that time. Sometimes even in the studio the planets align briefly and it tough for them to recreate things later.

Talking reality again............... hanging out with Cruisin are you?

Yeah your gripe is a fail. If you would have done a bit more homework you would have known about the ESN chip. Consider yourself lucky, try to get parts for some of the other mfg's MFX.

and NOOOOOOOO to plugging anything into the fbv jack but the correct controller!!! You wouldn't stick a fork into a light bulb socket to turn the TV on so don't randomly experiment with something you know is a fail.

Who da man? You da man!!

If it has a cd/mp3 in you could try that with a 1/8".
-
I second that. There is no problem and no one was really saying anything bad. 9/10 necro-threads have some good info that needs to be popped to the top.
-
Not really that true Brian. Many of the modelers are used for both FRFR and amp/cab systems. The units are that flexible.

Older than that Joel - 7/2015. :) It's all good.

Hey Craig and welcome to the board. CustomTone is hit or miss for tones but look for some that are rated pretty high - you will need to use HD Edit to see what is in there and turn off the FX and see what the amp setups are. Each user's rig is different and it will throw off what the patch will sound like. I could have a real nice tone which would sound like bullocks on yours and vise versa. EQs are pretty important too - don't worry about it when just getting your feet wet but keep it in mind as terms like Fizz, woof etc come up. :) BTW for firmware DL the flashfile to your PC then use Monkey to Flash From File. Easier and more reliable IMO. -B

Try and re-install the drivers and/or HD Edit. Could be its not loading when the USB is being pugged in.

My man, use the warranty. That is not usual behavior and there is not point in screwing around shoot L6 an email.
-
Is this a used unit? If the reflash and recalibration do not fix it and there is no warranty, you "can" try opening up the chassis and see if the ribbon cable has become disconnected from the exp. pedal. It has happened. Last thing to do would be to submit a Support Ticket to L6. The link is up top under "Support".

Be sure to register it. You will need the latest firmware, then run License Manager for the authorization which will be linked to your user account. For the firmware, you will need the L6 Monkey. Download the flash file to your 'puter and choose the option in Monkey to "Flash from file" I find that the more reliable method. All the DL stuff is in the downloads area.

You can use Gearbox. Its in the Downloads area.

That is one rock headed sound guy. Try to fire up the PE60 at or as close as you can get to gig level in case you have to hit the global EQ (just remember the settings before and after so you can switch back). While I love the PE60 it is not FRFR and may require some adjustments.
-
I've been using a PE60 for years (no Helix though) and it has always sounded real good when mic'd so chances are you will be pleased. The PE60 does have a balanced XLR out on it. The sound guy has to run a mic cable there so that would be the time to have him test it out of the PE60's XLR during sound check. If he doesn't like it then pop the cable back to the mic. It should be no different than DIing a bass for him. Run the EQ flat and watch the levels. I would schmooze the guy a bit, let him believe he is "the man". $$ are worth a decent working relationship and his misplaced pride could screw up decent future opportunities. My $0.02

Which transparent overdrives have you used in real life? If you have just switched from acoustic and are not "tuned" to what the bazillions of ODs are give the HD ones a spin and try to dial one in using low gain into the path. You can always try using the OD pedals you have in the loop or pre-input.

Yes guitar in to the XTL. This is bypassing the SV's preamp and let's the XTL to directly hit the SV's poweramp. There is the 4Cable Method you could read up on but really you should stick to either using the just the head or the XTL IMO. :)
-
Yikes! I would shoot an email in to L6 and see what they say.

Well you wouldn't be connected to HDEdit when playing live and the synching occurs when updating like changing patches (sending data to and fro the HD to the PC).

trouble getting started pod studio ux2
BillBee replied to frevev's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
BTW for a DAW check out Reaper (really good trial period) and Audacity as an alt for Riffworks.
