I have never seen them offered but you could probably make your own.

pod xt live not valid??
BillBee replied to prophecies_1's topic in POD 2.0, POD XT, Pocket POD, FloorPODs
Yeah you should contact L6 directly. It may be the unit was serviced and the security chip (ID) was not reinstalled. -
Same fingers? Tone is in the hands. :) Couldn't resist!

Yes for the XTL/X3L or HD500. Yes Workbench will work with the XTL/X3L/HD500 Yes you can get the Variax cables. I would look at an HD500 or X3L unless you get a killer deal. Hope that helps. :)

IIRC the Original Pod Pro was eprom based and there never really was an update needed for it. So like Zap said - L6 Edit or Gearbox connect your non-cheap cables and have at it. The manual will help too its pretty good.

You might find that the Jam and the JM4 have a compatible format. ;)

I use 60w Tech 21 PE60 ~33lbs. Easy on, easy off sounds good mic'd. The PA handles everything and unless you are going to deafen yourself onstage you will too. You really only need stage monitoring and an accurate representation of your tone through the PA.

Flextone II HD head - problem - help needed...
BillBee replied to AndySB's topic in Flextone I / II / III / Duoverb / HD147
Your question was answered on the ampage thread you posted in. :) -
Fire up HD EDIT and check your settings. For panning/mix/levels for the loop and the FX.

Its not a matter of ignoring the knobs its just a test to see what is going on. It could be a bad cable for example. But when a patch is recalled it will be at whatever settings it was programmed for not where the knobs are at. When you move a knob then the setting will jump to the position.
-
Turn all the knobs to 0. When you start the HD it will default to what the preset settings are and should ignore the physical knob settings. Hope that works.
-
A reflash is a total reset AFAIK. Try parking the knobs that seems to work for many who have this problem.
-
Try parking the knobs at 0. That usually stops it. Sometimes knob jitter can be cleared up by spinning them one way and then the other way (unit off of course).

Once i download the model packs, then what?

Glad you got it sorted out my man!! -
Remember the XTL did originally use the midi ports not the USB and may have retain the code for it. If it works on the HD be sure to post the results for others. I would try another power supply if you can. The PS if dying can create some havoc.

Getting back at Mike's question: I have always thought an artist's style and ability will flux throughout the career and yet retain that mojo of what they put into it. Experienced players sometimes need that push or direction if they have hit the wall on their own and need to push ahead. Its diminishing returns at a certain level but can be well worth the effort. This is regardless of TG's series and can be seeking out a master level teacher or a style. Perfect practice is encouraged in everything that requires mechanics and usually has a acceptable/common technique. That said I still can't play Null Violator so back to the woodshed I go!! Google up the Stylus Pick fellas - back in the 90's this was what put pick slanting on my radar. Alas I am still working on my Yngwie runs!!

Alternative to Variax Power Cabled Kit
BillBee replied to iankwan's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
By a spare battery pack. For my 500 it was ~$5.00 of Amazon. -
It dovetails with my other malady of CRS (can't remember lollipop). :)

One thing that will help if you like to sit while practicing is to use a strap and hike the guitar body off the lap so it hangs. Muscle memory will eventually take over and we tend to remember the wrong things sometimes. :)

One thing I have learned with the HD is the higher the PITA the greater the reward. It is easy to get lost in the options so take it slow and read, read, read. :) Fifty shades of HD.

Cool - I haven't touched HD Edit in a few months but am thinking of scrubbing one of the spare HDs to do that too.
