    HD500X updates

    Would you say..............Soylent?
  4. The manual will be your best buddy to help you learn all the features the Spider Series has to offer. I would imagine that if it has 300 presets there is a way to get there from the front end of the amp.

    HD500X updates

There are people still bitching at why their super old XT is not supported, so this should not be a giant surprise. People are (________). :)
  6. Its there, just use "all os" for the os selection.

    HD500X updates

You are "special" my man. ;)
  8. I think you mean - 1 fbv to control 2 amps. It has been discussed here before and while it can be done with some mods it is not recommended. If you search the forum you can probably find the old thread.
  9. Love the slugs Brazzy! Nice work!
  10. Pop the back cover off and while everything is connected and plugged in wiggle the mainboard ribbon cable gently and see if any sound comes back. Perhaps some of the connections oxidized. That was the problem my 500 had. A service center may be in your future though. The 500s are still really nice.

    HD500X updates

Based off of the other "will there be an update?" threads.... don't hold your breath. Not saying no, but it looks unlikely.
  12. If you are new to the X3 take some time and learn it first. There are a lot of options that can sound great and some that will just suck. Start with single amp patches and pay attention to the EQ as the low lows and high highs need to be trimmed IMO. Just shoot for simple amp/cab chains and when something is nice try experimenting with the mics and positions. I like studio direct as the output mode but some like the others so try those out and see what you prefer. When you are comfortable with the single amp chains then start to combine a few tones into the 1 & 2. Really nice combinations can be had. Twins plexis for example can sound really nice and crunchy. After you get some feel for it start with the Variax standard settings. The Les Paul ones are all really good. Then see how they fit in with your patches. This is all for rock tones. The acoustic settings I have dabbled with but haven't had a need to dive into yet. There are so many variables when combined that it is tough to give shortcuts. The Korg AX1500 and AX3000g are nice and still sound good considering the age.
  13. You are two years late to the rants for Gearbox. If you would have upgraded already you wouldn't be cruising every Gearbox post ranting. :) The following has enabled GB to work for some people: "Quote me" Gearbox has worked for others but you have to change some settings. Soundcard sample rate to DVD quality, 16 bit, 48k MHz. Failing that you can try compatibility settings. Custom Tone is OK but you are much better off learning to create your own patches btw.
  14. I know, I thought that Meris (I think that's the guy here) was going to bring them back. Still hoping too. I just found out about the Variac Mod bring done. http://www.krusekontrol.com/line_6_mods
  15. IMO you should take it to a tech for service. One of the best ways to kill an amp is to keep popping fuses and one of the best ways to hurt yourself is to probe around inside an amp without really knowing.
  16. I would submit a support ticket. Line 6 does not parse every post here looking for questions its more of a user support forum.
  17. Don't use ASIO4ALL either that can cause some latency probs.
  18. If you are getting a signal sometimes and you know the amp/cables/guitar are good then you might have a bad input jack. If you wiggle the cable in the jack and the sound starts/stops it might just need replacing or resoldering.
  19. Line 6 will still have your info when you registered it "a long time ago", even though you used it for a month a few years back. Submit a Support Ticket and with your sufficient electronic background you can help them diagnose the issue. You can try and reset it: Spider I, II, III, IV, Micro, and Valve Series: Hold down the A (or clean) button as you turn on the power and hold the button for 5-8 seconds. More than likely you have an oxidized or bad solder joint (assuming a component has not failed) so a trip to the service center should be expected. BTW Lifetime Warranty? Bwahahhaaaaa!!!! What electronics on this planet has one of those?
  20. At 16 ohms the V100 is outputting ~ 28 watts IIRC so you might have to see how you have to patch set up. Channel Vol/Master vol to see how much you can push the power amp prior to distorting the amp's output. Very bassy and not cutting through sounds like you should also EQ the patch and check HD's amp parameters like thump and resonance. A closed back cab will also have some low end "thump" to it. Its been years, but through a Velocity 120 and a 8ohm closed back 1x12 it was pretty loud and good sounding combination.
  21. and be sure to switch input 2 to something other than same. I fooled around a bit with the V Plexi and you can get some really nice tones if you drive it with a TS. Try the TS volume near max but almost no gain. Here is the master list: http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/pod/pod-hd/all-hd-amp-models-in-order-including-hd-model-r732
  22. Try a different USB port (the ones in the rear should not be a hub like the fronts), different cable, different PC. Has it ever connect?
