  1. If you run the standalone app and don't get any audio output from your interface, the root cause is likely that your Mac is not allowing Metallurgy to use its mic. During the installation or upon launch of the Metallurgy standalone app, if prompted to allow Metallurgy to access the computer’s microphone, click OK. You can also manually edit this setting within the Mac’s System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy tab - Microphone settings.
  2. I often practice direct in to my computer, and it would be very helpful to have a standalone (I. E. not a plugin) version of Helix native, much like Positive Grid did with BIAS and BIAS FX. Any chance this could be a thing?
  3. My Toneport UX8 has died. I spent a fair amount of money fixing other issues with it recently, so I don't feel it's worth the investment to repair this problem too. So I just bought a Behringer U-Phoria UMC1820 to try out for recording instead. So far it's working well, and has surprisingly low latency options (haven't tested them all though). It's working well at 128 and 256 so far. However, with Pod Farm 2.0 Standalone, I have a few problems with this device: 1) I can only select 1 input channel in File > Preferences > Hardware > Input Channel. With the Toneport I believe I could select 2 inputs for say vocals and bass simultaneously, no? Is this expected behavior when using a non-L6 audio interface with the program - You can only process a single input, even if the interface has more? 2) Every time I restart Pod Farm 2.0 the Input Channel settings resets to Input 1, even though I'm trying to set it up on Input 2 as the default. Guess I'll just have to swap my physical settings since I record guitar most of the time, but that's kind of annoying. 3) Usually when I switch input channels, the output volume of the same patch becomes very loud (into heavy clipping) compared to the identical patch when loaded in Pod Farm VST. Switching presets, and switching back seems to reset it to the expected volume though. 2) Clicking ASIO Settings doesn't open the UMC control panel. Clicking the ASIO configuration in Reaper is able to open it just fine, so it seems to just be an issue with this.
  4. Okay I'm having a problem. I own Pod Farm stand alone platinum, and I am using a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 interface. My mic (sE Electronics sE2200a II C) is plugged directly into my 2i2, which is plugged into my PC via USB. I have my headphones plugged in via the headphone Jack on the front of the 2i2. In pod farm I have my preferences set as Focusrite USB ASIO and I can hear my applied effects in real time. However I can't record my output with those effects! How do I do this? I really want to use this for streaming (OBS) and I know its possible but I have no idea how! What do I have to do? Do I need Virtual Audio Cable or anything? When I record or stream it only records the direct input before the effects!
  5. Q: How do I use the Gearbox stand-alone program to record into ProTools? A: Both the Line 6 TonePort hardware (GX/UX1/UX2/KB37) and the ProTools hardware (MBox) will need to be connected to your CPU via USB. ProTools needs the MBox designated as the soundcard on the computer (input and output audio device for the computer). The Line 6 TonePort USB device will need the latest Monkey, drivers, firmware, and GearBox installed on the host computer. Plug the instrument into the Toneport ¼” input. Take the Toneport analog output into the Mbox ¼ line input. Set the MBox controls as you normally would for gain structure. You will now be able to use the Gearbox stand-alone program processing into your ProTools recording application. Q: How can I automate the Gearbox Plug-In in ProTools? A: It is possible to automate the Gearbox Plug-In in ProTools. The directions below will take you step by step through the automation process. Launch a new track in Protools: Track/New/Create. Arm your audio track for recording and record your audio. Once your audio is recorded launch the GearBox Plug-In and instantiate it on your audio track: Window/Mix/Insert Selector A/Plug-In/Other/Gearbox. Once the GearBox Plug-In is launched dial-in or call up the tone that you want. You'll notice at the top of the plug-in GUI there is a button marked "Auto". Clicking on the "Auto" button will open up an interface that lists all of the paramaters that can be automated by ProTools in the GearBox Plug-In. Choose the parameters you want to automate and click on the "Add" button in the middle of the interface. Once you've selected all of the parameters you want to automate, click OK. In your audio track change the Automation Mode Selector button from "Read" to "Write". DISARM YOUR AUDIO TRACK FOR RECORDING. Click the play button on your global transport controls in ProTools and WITH YOUR MOUSE, MANUALLY ADJUST THE PARAMETERS YOU PREVIOUSLY SELECTED FROM THE "AUTO" FEATURE IN THE PLUG-IN INTERFACE. When you play back your track you'll notice that your automation was recorded. The knobs in the GearBox Plug-In should be moving on their own. To verify further click the "Waveform" button in your audio track, scroll down to "(FX A) Gearbox" and click on the automated parameter or parameters. The automation settings should display over your recorded waveform in your audio track.*
