  1. Hi there, does any one out there know the best EQ settings on a Yamaha QL5 with Helix LT for live performance. I've been playing on church for a while and the sound engineer is average on knowledge about sound reinforcement, the problem is that every time we play my sound is terrible, to bright and does not sound natural as it should be on a Helix (I use a power cab+ on my home and its a joy what you can hear on that cab) so I really like to sound the same. The lead guitar player is connected direct too with no amp, no amp simulator, just his pedal board and the last on the chain is BigSky and he's sound is good, I don't envy it, I just want to have a good sound and enjoy playing. So please 911, If any one knows please share
  2. I just acquired a Helix LT and am learning to use it. I have figured out how to make presets and things like that. But here's my problem... We play 4 or 5 songs each service and those songs vary from week to week... How do you make it easy to create a setlist (say with 4 songs in it) and make them easily accessible during the set? How do you make it easy to go from one song to the next that require different presets? And then, the following week, delete the songs in that setlist and add new songs to it? This is not rocket science but I can't seem to do this without having to jump through hoops to get it done. Makes me wanna sell the things and go back to stomp boxes. Someone please explain how you use and changes setlists each week. Thanks for any guidance you can provide.
  3. Hey everyone - Maybe a silly question, but I can't figure this out. Question: Can Helix Store the Stomp / Snapshot mode with the individual presets? If so, where do I change that from global to by-preset? My Helix is used in a worship ministry and is used by two different guitarists. One player has presets based on 8 snapshots. The other has presets based on 4 snapshots on the bottom and 4 stomps on top. Before each service, I have to change the global settings to accommodate each player. Sure would be easier if I didn't have to make that change in the global settings each time. Thanks! Brad
  4. Hi.. I am a midlevel guitar player.. I want to buy a multieffects for play worship at the church.. i dont have enough money for get a Helix.. my budget is around $650... I want to know wish one between pod hd 500x and pod.go will you recommends for play it at church... Thanks
  5. What's up guys? I'm looking for advice and to possibly start a discussion on different methods of using multiple instruments (specifically bass and keys) on the Helix in a Praise and Worship setting. I have and DeepMind 6 and BassStation II that I want to start incorporating into my workflow for sub-bass sounds, pads, and drones during specific parts of service. First thing that comes to mind is how little I use effects while playing bass. I usually play a GK PLEX and roll with it. So, transferring that same approach to the Helix, I have a lot of foot switches I could potentially use here - play programed chords, play a sub bass line to reinforce my stringed bass, change keys patches, use the volume pedal to fade from bass to keys, etc. I think my main obstacle right now is I don't know how to route 2 instruments in and out of the helix (or at least the proper way) nor do I know what this template would look like. How else are you guys setting up the Helix as the core of routing and processing multiple instruments? Cheers from Louisiana!
  6. Hello! I just got my Spider IV 75w a couple days ago and I'm trying to figure out how to set up a dotted 8th note delay (if this is even possible). I'm transitioning into playing lead guitar for my church and the delay is a common effect in worship songs. I'm really new to electric guitar, sorry if I sound really ignorant! Doshiegg
  7. I watched Lincoln Brewster play live. Just his HD500 into a mixer/PA. It sounds amazing: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=BkT4tLiH32M He made his HD500 patches available but on the 500x it sounds like caca: http://www.lincolnbrewster.com/podpatches/Lincoln_Brewster_Main_2012.h5e.zip http://www.lincolnbrewster.com/podpatches/Lincoln_Brewster_Swell_2012.h5e.zip Does anybody have great/similar sounding patches made specifically to have your HD500x go straight into a mixer/PA? I'm looking for a nice clean, rhythm crunch and lead distortion patches but everything I've tried so far sounds horrible... My second option was to plug my HD500x into my Carvin V3 half stack 100W tube amp. Use the Pod to do the Midi channel switching via 4CM, as I'd assign each patch to a channel at my amp (but I have no clue how to do that on the Pod). I'd be willing to even pay someone to create 3 basic patches for me, so the effects are done properly before and after the pre-amp: • A true bypass assigned to my Carvin's channel 3 with reverb, a little compression, and basic delay (on/off) option only for clean rhythm and picking. • A reverb, sustain + delay quarter note tap tempo, 8th note tap tempo, and .8th tap tempo; that I'd assign to my crunch channel 2 for swells and ambient stuff. If you can't have 3 on/off delay here, then I'd move the .8th into clean channel 3 above. • A reverb, compression + delay patch I'd assign to my (distortion) channel 1 for lead solo and hard rhythm + a pod amp modeler or overdrive pedal to add some distortion oomph I've heard and seen people who've figured out a way to do it on YouTube. But they just play and don't share... It's very frustrating since Line6 manuals talk about everything except what we want done ha ha ha...
  8. Hi group. I have perused a number of ambient sounds from "custom tone", and it's not doing for me. I use to have the POD XT Live and I had a pretty good ambient sound that I made. It seemed to work with most genres. I can't seem to create something I Like with the POD HD 500X - go figure. I love this new unit..... Any help would be awesome to get me pointed in the right direction. Thanks dH
