  1. Q factor controls the bandwidth—or number of frequencies—that will be cut or boosted by the equaliser. The lower the Q factor, the wider the bandwidth (and the more frequencies will be affected). https://howtoeq.wordpress.com/2010/10/07/q-factor-and-bandwidth-in-eq-what-it-all-means/
  2. Take the simple EQ and set a wide Q, frequency arround 700 and decrease db.
  3. Reduce 180-200 by 3-6 db, and increase 3000 about 4-6 db
  4. Well done Dunncan! This is the Track of Awesomeness!
  5. Hey man, thank you for your effort and sharing!
  6. As for irs I prefer red wirez. Clean the twin reverb sounds awesome. Broken I like the ac 30 , and high gain goes to electric.

    helix with 705

Thanks honest opinion. I believe my hd 500 can do the job then.

    helix with 705

Can I update the fiemware of my 705 with helix?
  9. Simply, pick up your fav amp, on the cab block (if stock) cut bellow 90hz and above 8000, then put a parametric after the cab, with mid freq at 4000, set q at minimum, and cut around 3 to 4 db. After, set bass at 130hz, and with a narrow q around 8.3 cut about 3.5 db.
  10. I hope something big will come cause it takes too much time already..
  11. Yes you can keep your yamaha to do the job, great enough for your cause.
  12. https://soundcloud.com/aris-laf/800a my chance on that.
  13. I am with you on this. I can not get even close to the tone of axe without external ir.
  14. Best combination is by using the workbench, put the les paul pickups on the 89 body. https://soundcloud.com/aris-laf/89-to-les-paul-pick-up-check
  15. I love you! I forget I am using the variax with the ethernet cable and set it to guitar.... Thank you!
  16. I made 2 tracks as shown on the video of Sean, 1 with 1-2 usb input the second with 7. Output 1-2 and 7. I armed both of the tracks, but on 7 there is no signal at all. I used mixcraft 7 pro and reaper, both the same problem. All mi settings on helix is as Sean's video.
  17. Electric with master to 40% and xxl cab.
  18. Awesome job bro! Well done! I would love to see you guys live!
  19. The main controls are Thresholdand Ratio. When audio peaks rise above your chosen Threshold setting, they are reduced. Anything under the Threshold setting is not reduced or affected. Ratio determines the amount of gain reduction that happens after the audio rises above the Threshold setting. For example, a typical 3:1 Ratio setting means that, if the audio rises 3 dB above the Threshold setting, the compressor will hold that level to only 1 dB above the threshold, thus reducing the peak by 2 dB. Very high compression ratios yield an effect called limiting, which we’ll explore in further columns. The other set of adjustable controls found in most compressors are Attack, Release, and Makeup Gain. Attack determines how fast or slow the actual compression takes place, and Release governs how quickly it lets go of your signal. Makeup Gain lets you raise the overall output level after you’ve compressed the audio, thus maintaining a robust signal even though you’ve reduced its peaks. Best therefore is the studio for this job. Otherwise try the SAG of the amp.
  20. Low cut to 100hz, high cut to 12000. On the cab Also, bias x rised and bias lowered gives a better headroom.
  21. Or use it for the missing effects that helix doesn't have....
  22. Just to make it more official http://line6.com/support/topic/22612-odd-distortion-on-cali-rhythm-1/
