    DT 25

You might want to think about your back too! The Firehawk weighs a ton!! From a sound point of view the Firehawk is more of an FRFR solution so consider the Soundstage stuff too. The DT is a 'guitarists' amp with all the versatility of changing sound via the POD. Acoustic sounds from the DT are limited (although Rads did a great patch I use and modified - see Customtone) so it's a bit 'horses for courses'...
  3. I have a DT25 and love the sound. It's 25 'valve watts' and so I've never needed it past 2:00 (I have my 500X on 12:00-3:00 depending on venue). I'm playing pubs etc. and have never felt I needed more volume. In my opinion, if I played anywhere bigger, so needed more volume, I'd either be mic'd or have a DI to the desk anyway....
  4. Some more than others!
  5. People are Lovely?
  6. Personally, I've found a lot of the advice given by Silverhead in various threads to be a lot of help. Just my opinion..... I haven't really based that on anything...... And I'm not connected with Line 6 other than owning their gear........
  7. Noooo! We needed to tell them we are poor so they make the guitars cheaper, not more expensive! ;-)
  8. Good they are taking our thoughts into account but why do they want to know how much i earn? Is anyone going to answer that truthfully?
  9. I def think they will give you the best deal. They offered me a great price on a Helix. I only didn't go for it because of the lack of Dream Rig integration...
  10. I played a 59 at Yamaha London and the push on the tunings knob was broken and they didn't even know! I was trying out a helix and one they would have stock plus a 59! The staff didn't seem all that knowledgeable about the product. The guy with the long hair is the best of the bunch! As for a 59 I have had one for 4 years and I think its amazing. I got mine from Andertons as 'B' stock and assist from a small ding in the binding on the neck it was perfect. I guess I would say 'shop around' or try and find somebody with one - if you are anywhere near Bromley message me!
  11. I know this might sound obvious but you need to get the manual out and learn to program the POD using the buttons on it. That way you can adjust the necessary settings quickly whilst you are playing. I relied on the Edit Software and got caught out a couple of times needing to change a patch at rehearsal but not being able to. I woodshedded using the buttons and was surprised how quickly it all made sense. Easy to make changes on the fly now! I bet you know how to change the settings on your guitar and amp so just add the POD to that list...
  12. You can 'save' 4 different models on to the DT using midi (if you don't need the defaults). When you use a POD and connect using the L6 Link the model/pre amp configuration is controlled by the POD so any amps you have on there (including expansion packs) are 'on' the DT. They don't call it Dream Rig for nothing...
  13. Everyone here has a JTV so maybe try the V Standard Forum?
  14. In the U.K. you can find them on eBay for £300. That's erm, just over US$300. A bargain!
  15. Get a DT 25/50. They are made for each other....
  16. I've downloaded patches from Customtone that have this and then changed the amps / parameters / effects to ones I wanted. It help me understand how it worked and I now start from scratch as Cruisinon2 says...
  17. If you are having problems changing strings just hold them in place with a capo?
  18. Take a note of the volume you need and then save the patch with that setting Edit. If that works at least you know you have a faulty switch!
  19. I'm hoping the 'advanced HD' they are talking about is what we already have!
  20. You just overwrite the patches. You can change the name of the bank too. Call it something you want. You don't have to keep any of the factory presets.

    Pod vs Helix

If there is anyone in the forum that PG hasn't wound up then he is losing his touch!
  22. Personally I think they are amazing! The sounds, and the ability to switch quickly between diverse sounds, is mind blowing. What will you be using it for/in what environment? I only ask as I have recently ditched using the DT for gigs - go direct to the board - as it really saves my back (just take POD, 59 & small rucksack of leads) and allows me to keep stage volume really low (my ears are loving it). Only downside is that I can't lollipop the drummer & bass player off by turning up to 11!
  23. Not a lot of help I know but I have the Line 6 bag and I would confirm that you would struggle to plug the POD in whilst in the bag. The way it opens too really doesn't dispose it fir what you need - you can't really fold the top over. I'm not dissing the bag - it's great! Just not designed for what you want!
