  1. I thought the 4 cable method was for when you are using a pod with a non-DT amp? When you have a pod and a DT you should use the L6 link. You can use a standard mic xlr. Then you have control of the topography of the amp from the DT :-)
  2. Thanks! I nearly bought a 75 too but I like the idea of a teeny tiny one!
  3. Sorry if this has been covered in another thread but I can't find anything that says when the NAMM launched baby Amplifi will be available. Dealers in the UK I've contacted don't seem to have any idea either!!

  5. I think the P1 will do what you want. We are experimenting with these https://www.studiospares.com/Headphones-and-Speakers/Headphone-Amps-and-Splitters/Behringer-MicroAmp-HA400-Headphone-Amp_380280.htm?CAWELAID=120173110000082957&CAGPSPN=pla&catargetid=120173110000047515&cadevice=t&gclid=CP_y46DwkMsCFRYW0wodMMcH9w. Although they are '4 way' we have one each and I run mine from the mains and have it by my feet and plug in with two headphone extensions linked together. The other guitarist runs his from a battery connector and then has it in a pouch (modified camera case) on his belt. Cheaper way of testing whether you can get on with it before deciding to go wireless...
  6. We have an X18 Air and I still brill. We all get our our own monitor feed we can play with with the air q app (so we don't play with FOH by mistake!). We are currently using wired iems - the pubs are just too small to worry about moving about a lot! - to get an idea of if we can get on with them. £6 outlay for the mixer thing from maplin. No big deal when/if i decide yo go wireless...

    FRFR ?

Aye. I sing in tune at the gig but when I listen to a recording....

    POD HD

Have you tried a factory reset on the pod? Very weird!!

Have you installed Line 6 Monkey? Running that often sorts these things out...
  10. I have the same problem. It seems to 'happen after a while' so I've been wondering if something happens when it gets hot! I'll maybe try the idea of taking out the volume pedal but I like it so much! I did read a thread about putting it on the amp volume but if the rocker is playing up I guess you would have the same problem. If anyone else has any ideas I'm happy to hear them! If it's a lot of us - and its definitely something that had only been happening lately - then maybe it's an issue in the latest software?

    FRFR ?

Shame Manchester and London are so far apart. I'd be happy to share with you OR!

    FRFR ?

The sound is very dependant on what kit you are using. We have been using our pub set up to rehearse recently - Behringer air mixer and Mackie Thumps - and I have been getting quite a good sound. All that time set up in my dining room was with it! However this week we got lazy and only took the mixer to rehearse and used the power amp and speakers at the studio. Straight back to 'angry bee'!! The speakers there are well used of course but probably better quality than the Thumps. Spent the while time fighting the urge to fiddle. But then the patches will sound bad through our system. Ho hum....
  13. If there are no guitar shops then a qualified electrician might help. Or someone used to dealing with old radios. I did it with a friend of mine after we watched a load of YouTube vids. You will need a voltage tester that is well insulated. If you don't know about these things it is not worth your life to play with it though!
  14. 'She' is pretty new to the gigging scene so I'm overlooking it for the time being..
  15. Where is the fun in that! ;-)
  16. The singer is always stepping on my expression pedal 'by accident ' so that wouldn't work for me. Many of my patches have a tube comp or red/blue comp that I use as a boost for solos....
  17. Thanks Old-Rocker. The place we played last Sat was truly the smallest space I've ever played. My left arm was against the keyboard and the right against the singer. Ok, pubs in the UK are not designed for 6 piece outfits but we like to play them as well as parties. On the plus side the place was heaving and it was the 1st time in the 36 years I've been playing that there were people dancing on the tables! I'm glad Mr Healthandsafety wasn't watching! Most of the time I can use my DT and I can get by not hearing my vocal but looking at the vid from the gig I'm not pitching as well as I could hence the need to hear voice. Another plus side of taking no amp was that I parked about 200m away and could carry all my gear in one go plus we set up and tore down in minutes. But if I'm going to use just the pod, any speaker/amp has to be fairly FRFR as, as you have found, the guitar tone will get coloured. The little Mackie would do the job very nicely. There is a Behringer version (b205d) that looks the same as the Mackie - and I mean an EXACT rip off - that is £100 cheaper so I think I'm going to try one of those if I can get over to Romford which seems to be the nearest dealer who has both so I can compare.
  18. I generally look at the gear the player who's sound I'm going for has then use those in the pod. It's unusual to find a player who uses gear that the pod doesn't have. It's always down to your ears - I've made a nice trashy tone with dual amps, gibtone overdriven and tweed clean, but it probably won't sound good to everyone's ears! The smaller speakers usually make more of a 'slashed tone' sound to my ears... Also there is probably something in Customtone you can use as a starting point.
  19. Just in case this helps anyone in the same situation... I tried the TV Voiesolo FX150 and Mackie SRM150 yesterday. Both sounded really great and very defined with both music (from my ipod) and guitar (from xlr on 500x) blaring out. However, the FX150 would be nowhere near loud enough in a full band situation. Although the Mackie is rated the same watts (something to do with db's the sales assistant said - then I fell asleep ;-)) it is LOADS louder and would easily be heard over drums, bass and a 2nd guitar. Not as many positioning options for the Mackie (you would have to have it on top of a mic stand) and it's a fair bit more expensive here in the UK. So, next gig on 12/3 (That's March for my American friends ;-)) I'll be trying a cabled in ear set Up! Wish me luck!
  20. See Old Rocker. It's very addictive! Sounds like good advice. Just use your ears and go with what sounds good. Whilst there are many, all the parameters are easy to swap. It takes a bit of time and patience but you should be able to get a good sound!
  21. I take it that you have a vol pedal in your chain and that it's set to exp 1 or 2 (depending which you use)
  22. I'd post that in the Amplifi forum. This is for Dream Rig products...
  23. The Firehawk should cover a lot of bases but I understand that it's monumentally heavy! How is your back? I have a DT and am very impressed. You have so many sounds available over the L6 Link. I haven't checked if Firehawk has that? I used to use a keyboard amp as a FRFR speaker but the 'touch' available on the DT is amazing. I even get a passable acoustic sound using Rads DT patch in Customtone.
  24. I have two banks of patches set up. One to connect to a pa with full amp models and one to connect to the DT with pre amps. As others have said, going straight into a 'real' amp will generally end up with a coloured tone but if you try setting the Orange clean then play with the pod you should get some useable sounds. The thing I forget is to switch the pod outpu from 'studio direct' for pa to 'combo' when using the amp. To access this hold down 'view'and press right on the circle button a few times. Indeed you can experiment changing the output (it has a stack setting too) and just use the one that sounds best! Have fun!
  25. Ah, I got my gear from Andertons Guildford. They were really good at purchase but the after sales has been so bad I wouldn't buy from them again! I guess Manchester & London are a bit far part for impromptu jam/sharing....
