  1. Not a lot of info here so I'll need to make assumptions. With a 2.2M Input Impedance the VPDI obviously wants the acoustic plugged into its Input. This means that whatever HXS FX you want to use will come AFTER the VPDI or in its FX Loop. In Global Settings>Ins/Outs set Send/Returns L and R to LINE and Return Type to RETURN. Start here (simple method): Acoustic>VPDI Input>VPDI Output>HXS Return L>HXS Return L Bock (MIX 100%)>HXS FX>HXS Output Block>HXS Outputs>Powered Speakers Simple wiring but the VPDI is NOT last in the signal chain. I don't think it will matter, this is just like running into a board and adding FX after. BUT... ALTERNATIVELY: To put the HXS in the VPDI's FX Loop run a cable from the HXS FX Send to the VPDI FX Return and another from the VPDI's FX Send to the HXS L/Mono FX Return. Place a RETURN L Block before any HXS FX and a SEND L Block after. Take the OUTPUT from the VPDI to the HXS RETURN R and place a RETURN R Block last in the signal chain. Acoustic>VPDI Input>VPDI FX Send>HXS Return L>HXS Return L Block (MIX 100%)>HXS FX>HXS Send L Block (DRY THRU -120db)>VPDI FX Return>VPDI Out>HXS Return R>HXS Return R Block>HXS Output Block>HXS Outputs>Powered Speakers That places the VPDI last in the signal chain before the HXS Outputs to the speakers. Try both ways and use the method that sounds best. Use shielded TS cables (guitar cables) in both methods. If you decide to try an acoustic IR, put it LAST before the Output Block. Your Electric stays plugged into the HXS Input and you just change Presets depending on which instrument you're using.
  2. Here ya go - no stereo, no shenanigans. All MONO FX (lower DSP usage), IR. Use the L/Mono Out to FOH. While you don't technically NEED a DI with this (main outs are balanced), a DI prevents a less than skilled sound guy from sending phantom power and having a ground switch might come in handy. pureaddict2.hlx
  3. Your Stereo Sends are already in use, so if you want to use an IR you're stuck with MONO to FOH. If you want STEREO to FOH you need to use the Dual Cab Block with stock cabs, which is what I've done in the example. The DRY MONO Send to FOH is not balanced, so you'll likely need a DI. You mentioned W/D/W to the board, and that is what this configuration would give you. If you want the WET signal in MONO just use only the L/MONO Out. I'm not sure what you're trying to do with the switches. You can Bypass any effect with the on-board switches, but you may need to use MIDI for the rest. I've used all stereo fx - Simple Delay, Transistor Tape Delay and Dynamic Plate Reverb. Depending on which fx you choose, you may run into DSP problems. Switching to mono fx can sometimes help that. IOW - you may have to balance which fx will do the job vs stereo. In Global Settings>MIDI/Tap set Rx MIDI Clock to Auto. Your Output and Sends will likely need to be set to LINE. Hope your FOH tech has a decent board and knows what he's doing. I think I covered it all. If you choose to buy an HXS, get it from a store with a good returns policy JIC :-)!
  4. SPDIF1 is LEFT, 2 is RIGHT. Split your path (or use two paths) and pan one LEFT and the other RIGHT.
  5. You're right! I didn't turn the knob far enough to see the FS4/5 Tap option. My bad!
  6. No. Did somebody tell you that this would work? EDIT: Yes, I didn't turn the knob far enough to see the FS4/5 Tap option. ALSO, you CAN control Tap Tempo externally using MIDI (CC#64 Value >63), and you COULD use the MXR switch with one of these: MIDI Solutions Footswitch Controller; General Purpose Input to MIDI for US $159. (maybe you can find one for less...) OR use this instead of the MXR for US $99 MIDI Baby — Disaster Area Designs This is a better plan, and can also be used WITH the MXR for other things.
  7. You need to DL and install the ASIO Drivers: Line 6
  8. I know that you don't want to hear it, nobody does, but start by reading the manual. You will discover the purpose of the MODE switch (switching between Preset and Stomp Mode) and the Global Settings for determining what TYPES of switches appear in PRESET MODE (Presets/Snapshots/Stomps) and which row (upper/lower) they appear on. You'll learn that you can switch between PRESET and SNAPSHOT Modes by pressing the UP/DOWN switches simultaneously. And that's just the beginning! A whole new world awaits you when you step up to Snapshots. But just like the world maps of old, there are areas which must be approached cautiously, for "Here there be MONSTERS!". Command Center is one of those areas. VERY powerful but easy to get lost in, especially when using Snapshots! Did you know that you can have Snapshot and Preset switches in Stomp Mode? If in the above I seem to be engaging in a bit of smart-a$$ery, you are correct! The question you asked is Helix 101. While there's lots of people here who will be more than happy to answer your questions (the manual is not perfect), you REALLY NEED to start by grabbing a beverage and sitting down to spend some quality time with the manual.
  9. Assign the Output Block Level Parameter to the other exp pedal. If WAH is working on Exp1, then assign the Output Level to Exp2.
  10. Hard to tell much from a 1 second recording. Is Helix connected by USB at the same time as the mixer? If so, try disconnecting the Helix USB.
  11. CC#s 49-53 toggle the BYPASS function of blocks whose BYPASS is assigned to a FS. If you haven't assigned the FS to a Block's Bypass nothing will happen. I'm going to hazard a guess that functions which have a predefined CC such as Snapshots and Looper controls won't work with the FS CCs. Others may, you'd have to experiment.
  12. It appears that if a block is OFF, and you send it's FS CC with a Value of 0 (OFF), it toggles to ON and vice versa. If you assign a MIDI CC to a block's BYPASS and use the BYPASS CC instead of the FS CC this does not happen. This solution is less than ideal since it requires you to assign a BYPASS CC to each block but it works. You might want to report this as a bug to L6 support.
  13. Must be - my Birth Certificate says I was born in 1950, but I KNOW I'm only 39! OTOH, I haven't seen Rochester in a while...

    Suggestion Box?

I'll add that two of the oldest requests on Ideascale are for an on-board clock and a coffeemaker. One of those was a serious request that was re-posted just recently. MANY of us are STILL waiting for our Free Pony!

    Suggestion Box?

Actually, that's not what I said. I said that I've gotten everything I needed and more, much of which wasn't even asked for on Ideascale. Can you name another MI manufacturer who has something similar to Ideascale and consistently implements the suggestions received? It took the Fractal kids YEARS to get their Klone. This forum is primarily intended as first line user support - users helping users. I'm always happy to help if you have a problem, but no one can help with complaints about Ideascale, it is what it is. Take part, vote for what you like, or don't. "If you choose not to decide you still have made a choice!"
  16. I'm thinking that 18 months later OP probably figured it out. I may have replied to their other thread, but I can't remember that far back!

    Suggestion Box?

Yes, DI has confirmed that the suggestions on Ideascale are part of their considerations. Yes, some things have been implemented - tuner improvements come immediately to mind. No, you can't always get what you want. So far, I've gotten everything I need, and a lot that I'll never use. Many of the "most popular" requests on Ideascale are things that I couldn't care less about. I hope that everybody gets what they want in v3.2. :-) EDIT: FWIW - Even America's founding fathers didn't believe in pure democracy. Just sayin'!
  18. Since you're using two PCs you'll also want to turn OFF MIDI PC SEND in the Powercab's System Settings.
  19. You posted as I was typing. Go to Global Settings>MIDI/Tap and set MIDI PC SEND to OFF. That will prevent the Helix from sending it's default Program Change# to the PC+.
  20. Assuming that we're talking about FRFR mode with cabs/IRs on Helix (not IRs in Powercab), the only difference is that your PA sounds different from your Powercabs. AFAIK the DI Outs on the Powercab in FRFR mode are direct/pass-through from the Helix - same signal. You MIGHT be crazy, but more likely there's something else going on in your system's configuration. I just tested this as follows: BIG KNOB set to MULTI and maxed (all the way right). Simple preset, just amp+cab. Powercab settings on defaults. Split path, split Block set to A/B, ROUTE parameter set to a FS. Path A Output set to DIGITAL, Path B output set to XLR. Powercab on Flat Stereo Preset. PC XLR DIs connected to two channels on the board, Helix XLR DIs connected to two channels on the board. When you toggle the FS the signal to the board will toggle between the Powercab DIs and the Helix DIs. At first I thought I was hearing what you heard. Then I looked at the PC+ display. It had changed from Flat Stereo to a preset that corresponded with the preset on the Helix. I then realized that, as I'm always connected to the PC+ by MIDI as well as L6 Link, that I had left the Global MIDI PC SEND setting ON (it's usually OFF). Now that the PC+ stays on FLAT STEREO, I can hear NO difference whatsoever. Attached is the test preset I used. Just a note - NEVER believe what the PC Edit app tells you about ANYTHING. It's buggy as h3ll. ALWAYS go by the actual display and settings on the Powercab itself. When in doubt do a Factory Reset on the Powercab from the Settings menu. That won't cause you to lose your IRs, it just resets the Global Settings and eliminates any random digital weirdness. It WILL wipe out any custom presets, so back up (Export) your presets first! Test DIs.hlx
  21. Clarification needed: PC+(model?) #1 is connected to Helix by AES/EBU. PC+(model?) #2 is connected to PC+(model?) #1 by AES/EBU. In your Presets, Output Block>Powercab Tab: Remote = Preset Mode (Preset) = Flat Flat Voicing (Preset) = FRFR Select (Preset) = 1+2 Link You are NOT connected to your Powercabs via MIDI. The MODEL of your PC+ matters because either the 112 or the 212 (I forget which) has a problem with this. It could be that the 212 has a problem with split L/R speakers, but again I forget the specifics. If you're configured as above and still have the problem you could try contacting support and hope you get somebody who actually knows something about the Powercabs beyong "Plug it in". Good Luck with that!

    Suggestion Box?

Nobody from L6 hangs out here. This is where you go to requests and product improvement suggestions: https://line6.ideascale.com/a/login Search first so as not to dilute the votes when your ideas have already been posted.
  23. Changing and Saving Presets. Changes are SAVED when you press and hold the channel button (LEDs flash). Changes are otherwise retained temporarily until you either press that channel button a second time (no hold) or switch Banks.
