It would be helpful if you posted the actual Preset (NOT a screenshot!) so we can see what exactly you're doing and mess around with it.

Click the ? icon at the lower left of the HX Edit screen, then ABOUT. Does the HX Stomp version at the top match the HX Edit version at the bottom? They should both be v3.15. If not, click CHECK FOR UPDATES and FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTION! In caps because if, like many others, you fail to do so, we'll all laugh at you when you come back wondering what to do with your bricked unit... If everything matches, perform a Factory Reset to restore the Presets: Be aware that if a Preset contains "4cm" in the title, move on, your amp doesn't have an FX Loop.
-
Use a cable vs wireless if you plan on using fuzz FX. HXS has auto Input Impedance (RTM!) Set the HXS Input and Output to INSTRUMENT (RTM!). You're running into the Fender's Instrument jack. Don't use HXS amps or cabs. You could, but you'd be running HXS amps and cabs into the Fender preamp and cab. You might like it, but... Pay attention to the gain staging of your FX. That's it! Used with a Fender TM it's just like using a traditional pedal board.

You can hear your guitar, but swapping HX amps doesn't change the tone? Guitar>L/Mono Input; Amp/powered speakers L/Mono or both Main Outputs? Perform a Factory Reset: If that doesn't work contact support.

It's actually the one you were on when you last SAVED the Preset. This matters because if you've got Global Settings>Preferences>Snapshot Edits set to RECALL you can make changes to all of your Snapshots without saving until you're done. You could easily SAVE on a different Snapshot than you intended. Note also that at any time you can simply select the Snapshot you want to load with the Preset and then SAVE without making ANY edits.

HX Effects and Morningstar ML5 - Snapshop mode issues..
rd2rk replied to PortVincent's topic in Helix
ICs don't load Snapshots, they are a function WITHIN Snapshots and Presets. When a function is assigned to an IC it runs both when the Preset loads and when you change Snapshots. The ML5 is a Loop Switcher. If your FX are located within the ML5's Loops, you leave the FX ON and then send a CC to switch the ML5's Loops. If your pedals are located within the HX Loops you simply SAVE the Snapshots with the FX ON and the relevant loops set to be active or bypassed. Since you're using the ML5 within the HXS FX Loop you'll want to SAVE the Snapshots with the HXS FX Loop active UNLESS you don't want ANY of the effects in ANY of the ML5 loops to be in the signal chain. The ML5 is using the standard ON/OFF values of 0-63=OFF and 64-127=ON. For simplicity's sake I (and L6) usually use 0=OFF and 127=ON. FWIW but unrelated - If you're controlling something with 3 or 4 possible states you can divide the 0-127 range into 3 or 4 ranges. In this case you'd need to use separate non-toggling footswitches/CCs, since toggling only allows for 2 states. Non-toggling CCs assigned to footswitches are NOT sent when loading Presets OR Snapshots Where this gets complicated is when you're activating different ML5 Loops in each Snapshot. If you combine Snapshot ICs and Toggling footswitches, BOTH the IC and the Toggling footswitches are sent when the Preset loads AND when the Snapshot loads. The IC always runs before the FS. Suppose that you want the Snapshot to load with ML5 FX Loop 1 (CC#1) ON. You would set the CC#1 Value in IC1 to 127. But if there's a Toggling footswitch assigned with its defaults (DIM=0, LIT=127, the IC turns the Loop ON and then the Toggling FS turns it OFF! This MIGHT not happen if the ML5 requires a WAIT between MIDI commands, or it could happen randomly! Random=BAD! If you use the FS to turn it back ON, then switch to SS2, the FS sends it's default OFF Value. When you reload SS1, the FS remembers that it last sent OFF, so it sends it's default ON Value, even though in SS1 it was set to send OFF. Confused yet? It gets stranger and stranger the more Snapshot FS combinations you use. You could drive yourself crazy trying to figure out which logic is at play in each combination (believe me, I have done that!), but it's a LOT easier just to remember to use either ICs or Toggling footswitches, but not BOTH. -
HX Effects and Morningstar ML5 - Snapshop mode issues..
rd2rk replied to PortVincent's topic in Helix
I don't own the ML5, but MIDI is MIDI, and I had a quick look at how the ML5 works. Yes, it does get complicated, but you need to describe EXACTLY what you're trying to accomplish before I can provide specific help. General advice: ICs and Toggling CCs assigned to footswitches both send on Preset load and Snapshot load. Use one or the other, not both. If CLEAN is CC#1 and OD is CC#2, then in SS1 set IC1 to CC#1 with the ON Value (127?). In SS2 set IC1 to CC#2 with the ON Value (127?). SS=Snapshot IC=InstantCommand -
Did you check your Junk mail folder? Go to the L6 website and pull up the ticket to see if you missed their reply. Bump the ticket if they haven't. If you're in the US, call them. DL the latest L6 Updater. Does it see your Helix? If YES then reflash the FW. If NO, see the contact suggestions above.

Either make copies of the presets with different default Snapshots or use a MIDI Controller to send the PC# + CC#69 Value 0-2.
-
What is Disk 1? Is that a card reader or memory stick of some sort? If so, try removing it.

I've never had a reset make things worse. Since this is the primary way to deal with random wonkiness, if you're really afraid then you should be looking for a different platform. I don't mean to be a jerk, but that's just how it is. It's like refusing to go to the hospital for a serious condition because you might catch something. "Just Do It!". (back up first!)

Is the unit on FW v3.15? If NO, update using HX Edit v3.15. If YES then perform a Factory Reset: If that doesn't fix it reply with a copy of your preset (NOT a screenshot).

No. It's an audio only device.

I read the same post on TGP and I don't think he was saying what he appeared to be saying., and I have no clue what that was! Favorites are just FX Blocks with your settings applied. The same rules apply as with any other FX Blocks. Snapshots can turn them ON/OFF and change parameters within, but you can't, for instance, swap Favorite OD1 for Favorite OD2 unless they're both in the preset. I think if that were possible for Favorites it would be possible for any FX. Also, they are in no way Global. and if you save changes to the copy in the preset those changes do not apply to the copy in the Favorites list or anywhere else. Of course. 3.2 or 3.3 could change all that, you never know what the Wizards at L6 have up their magical sleeves!

Q: recommended/required delay time between sequential MIDI commands?
rd2rk replied to johnbeamon's topic in Helix
AFAIK there's no documented required wait time between MIDI messages. Recent updates (are you on v3.15?) have attempted to address this issue. A default wait between PC and CC#69 was added, in addition to the user selectable WAIT time. In addition, "Preset Spillover" was added to eliminate the time it takes to load a new preset. Unfortunately, Preset Spillover requires that you give up an entire processor (Path 2) to use it. This limits the # of Blocks and type of FX that you can use within the limits of available DSP. Though not ideal, since it eliminates the Preset load time you should be able to use more Presets to get around that. I'm not sure why you would want to send PC# then "snapshot 4, delay ON, snapshot 2"". You should be able to simply send PC#>Snapshot#. The Snapshot should determine which FX Blocks are ON/OFF. -
This is complicated and may or may not be a known bug. Something similar has been reported but I don't recall the details. If Global Settings>Exp Pedals> "the Assigned pedal (1 or 2)" = Preset, the snapshot setting is NOT recalled, it defaults to the Exp Pedal Position. If Global Settings>Exp Pedals> "the Assigned pedal" (1 or 2)"= Snapshot, the snapshot setting is recalled. However, if you operate the Exp pedal, the Snapshot setting is forgotten. There may even be other conditions/behaviors that I didn't discover while playing around with this. Bottom line, if you want to control the parameters by Snapshot, assign them to Snapshots. That said, keep in mind that if you assign two parameters to an Exp pedal, when you operate the pedal it will set BOTH parameters to the Exp pedal position REGARDLESS of the saved values. IOW - the parameter settings are ABSOLUTE (linked directly to the PEDAL POSITION) not RELATIVE (linked to the SAVED VALUES). I may have ABSOLUTE and RELATIVE mixed up in terms of common usage, but hopefully you get the point.

Use a FS or SS IC to send the desired MC6 Bank Change PC. The MIDI PC Tx only affects the sending of the default PC, not PCs assigned in Command Center.
-
Bad cables?
-
Global Settings>MIDI/Tempo>MIDI PC Tx = OFF This prevents sending the default PC when you change Presets.
-
No. The correct drivers install automatically with HX Edit. But, if you REALLY WANT to complicate your life unnecessarily, do it the wrong way. It's a free country!
-
I'm not sure what you mean. Just install HX Edit and it automatically installs all the proper drivers.

The Pod Go's L/Mono Out collapses the signal to MONO. If you're only sending the PC's L/Mono XLR to FOH (also collapses the signal to MONO) that should be all you need to do. Keep in mind that the level sent to FOH from the PC's XLR reflects the level of the signal at the PC's inputs, but is independent of the PC's Volume control, so you want to control your stage level (the PC's speaker volume) using the PC's Volume knob and NOT the Pod Go's Volume knob.
