I have a Tascam 1604, I use a really easy music daw program, not home but I think it's called Music Maker 7, I've also used a cakewalk program called Guitar Tracks... Using Aiso for all, I can turn both on and assign both to be used by the Daw program.... It's cool, I use the backing tracks on the Music maker and record instrumentals... Drag MP3 music tracks to one track, jam HD500 on another, with vocals or acoustic on another track through my 1604... You have to use AISO for All
-
Just add it in as an effect and then set it up to tie switch one by holding down the button that says assign

You'll be ok.... It is digital, but think analog... Pedals, amp, effects loop, pedals.... The interface on the 500 itself will help... Play around with the presets, if you mess them up its not a Big deal.... If you use the software it's even easier to get a feel for it...'we are all willing to help here too... Read the pilots guide and watch the Line 6 amplifier sound setup videos on here... They are straight forward and show you how to setup presets... I have a basic effects chain that I use for almost all of my setups, I just change amps... And that makes it easier if you set one of those up... Remember think like you were setting up a rig... I have: Volume, Wah, Distortion Pedal, Noise gate, ( insert amp ), noise gate or EQ, ( effects loop ) ( I use a boss pedal here) flanger, Delay, Reverb.... I just switch amps, cabs and mics around... Welcome to Line 6 bro.... If you can think of it, this gear will do it...

Thanks guys.... It's gonna be a weird issue... My HD500x is plugged in to my PC almost permanent at my house.... Live I'm gonna use the Link cable... But now I use the headphone out to the RCA inputs on the L3t I do this because it pretty much becomes my sound card when it's plugged in.... So ALL of the sound from my PC, my musc to my backing tracs I record with run thru there... But, like I said it defaults to Guitar Cab... Like quoted above, the Reference PA sounds fuller... So, I recently ran a bank that I'm now using almost 40 of the amps on the HD500 after testing them all... I have them setup GREAT Dry, then went in and added effects to... So ALOT of work went into this... I just hate to have to readjust everything.... Especially since just using Headphones doesn't come close to how great it sounds through the L3t And Yes, live and at band practice I will have a Mic hooked up, The RCA to my IPAD for music, and maybe a acoustic, so I need it on the PA setting now.... Just trying to get a shortcut to fix all of my work.... I'll try the global with the Link cable hooked up instead of the RCA unless some other idea you guys can throw at me... BTW, when I switched it it THUMPED!!! I love that, so most of my setting have the Resinance turned up

Ok, modding my new Variax JTV 69 Putting a Perloid pickguard on when it comes in.... Since it has to be in perfect standard tuning to use the tuning changes What do you think of Zero Fret Nuts?
-
Never used a Digitech Whammy even though I'm a fan of Vai and Satch.... Been playing with the pitch glide and its soooo cool, like the guys above me said, try it
-
Then run your line 6 monkey, making sure it's logged in, it will load the new patches..., BTW the Roland is a GREAT amp!!!!

Can Variax do smart harmony effect?
shredjsx replied to dugbug's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
Set up a guitar with a twelve string setup, set the volume on the second set of strings pretty low, tune them to match standard tuning instead of octaves, Then adjust them down or up -5 or 6 cents.... Sounds cool and works kinda like my Harmonizer pedal... Mess with your Rickenbacker 12 string guitar patch to try it... It works!!! -
Ok, built an Entire set list designed around trying every amp on my hd500x dry to find ones I liked.... Then started tweeting them to my ear.... After all of that work I noticed they naturally all set up to use the Guitar Cab settings on my L3t... I prefer using the Reference PA setting not only because it sounds clearer, but because I use the mic inputs and RCA inputs... Here's the problem, after all that work setting up my amps, when I switched to PA Refence they got really bassey ( though the Thump was awesome!!!!) Do you guys think a quick fix would be to cut the bass on the Global EQ on my HD500? Or am I gonna have to set Everything up again? :(

All of my guitars are SSH except for my new Silverburst LP... Yes, setting up patches and banks for each guitar is great and can be a lot of fun, like for your SSS strat setting up a Bassman wit a Tube Driver or Screamer in front of it.... However I also use some patches for all of my guitars.... I set the gain on my amps cleaner amps, like the Bassman to my single coil pickups till they start to barely breakup.... Then when I flip to my humbucker lead pickup I boosted the volume and overdrive great without stepping on the distortion pedal switch... I also have my lead pickup as high as I can set it without causing string pull, I set my middle single coil down low so it gets cleaner with a lower volume. Then my Neck single coil I have set as close as I can because I can because I solo on it too.... So you can setup just one amp to run both too, just add the needed pedal in front.... Have fun bro.... If you can imagine it you can do it.... Just ask around here Oh, check out JTV Variax 69 guitars on YouTube too, it's amazing what you can do when you add that in!!!!

Try not plugging in the hd500 when you reload the line 6 monkey, and uninstall all drivers when you remove the monkey... When you load it, load ALL of the drivers.... Don't plug in the monkey to your unit... After loading it and all of the drivers, shut it down, plug in your HD500 and see if your PC sees it and loads the drivers.... If not check your devices and see if it's there loaded as an audio interface.... If it is just showing up generic, reinstall the drivers from searching your computer for it.... Then turn on monkey, log into it and see if everything shows up after you log in.... Try it and let us know

Mine sounds fine and you are setting it up perfectly.... I have a Tascam Rack interface and I don't use it for anything except Mics and Acoustics.... I run the HD500x direct USB... I don't understand the whole "Analog to Digital" process thing... I could see an issue if you were using a mic'd cab over a DI out on an amp... But isn't the xd500 already digital? Mine sounds great, your fine and less hassle

Using Pod HD500x as sound card, audio cuts in and out
shredjsx replied to gabesinhorin's topic in POD HD
Download "AISO for All" to tweek it for daw programs.... Other than that, don't really know why you are having problems.... It is easy to set up usually... Call the guys at Line 6 or get a hold of your local rep through guitar center -
Audio to linear? Explain please

Cant decide between L2 & L3 !
shredjsx replied to swolfp's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
I wonder what causes the DSP problems.... I have yet to run into that.... But I run a pretty normal setup, one amp, a few effects and a volume and Wah.... I have built patches with two amps and haven't hit that yet, though I don't really use the two amp setup.. I like to be able to easily adjust on the fly when playing live without too complicated a signal chain You'll love the power from the L3!!! I rarely turn it up past a quarter and use the master on my hd500x.... IT GETS LOUD.... Still consider the L3T though, if anything for the RCA input.... I use it to play my iPad through to jam with, to play music for my band, and to route through my headphone jack on my hd500 when hooked up to my PC.... Great way to record and monitor your tone and play your backing tracks at the same time and get a great level mix -
Mine works fine on my HD500x, Variax and my L3t setup... For patches on the Variax I set the volume pots to 500k and it has no problem

Cant decide between L2 & L3 !
shredjsx replied to swolfp's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
Go big, so you won't be disappointed and you have enough headroom to dial back, you can never dial to 11.... I have a L3t which I would recommend because you can always find uses for the other features And I mainly use mine as a guitar cab behind me or monitor as well.... At about 1/4 power.... But I've used the RCA inputs to jack to the headphone out of my HD500x when it's connected to a PC.... To play my iPad thru... I've used the acoustic jack and sim when jamming with friends, and the Mic Input.... Get it all in one package, power, pa, monitor and guitar cab -
I've had no problem direct recording... Love all of my line 6 stuff for that, but I do recommend reference monitors over headphones

Using Pod HD500x as sound card, audio cuts in and out
shredjsx replied to gabesinhorin's topic in POD HD
I agree, I shut all background stuff down and change the settings on my PC to no sounds.... -
I'll have to try that, I just created a bank with a J 45 as the clean, a Pexi 100 lead as the rhythm, the JCM 800 as the overdrive and the 2204 as the lead.... Surprisingly I actually like some of Line 6 own tones.... The Eletrik has 6l6 smooth sound with gain to spare.... I may be creating a bank around that...
-
Cool I'll try that... I don't know why but I've always hated distortion pedals, I like to get sounds from the amp... It's funny though, a lot of my fav artist use them....
-
Me to, the line 6 videos are great on YouTube, as well as a few others.... It's made me experiment more with other effects and settings I normally would avoid.... I've been going through each amp and have been find some great ones I never would even try. And some of my tried and true amps have already gone by the wayside.... What I really don't like is how some of the smaller amps like the champ are so low in volume that you have to boost them with a EQ, that is ridiculous.... Especially for great sounding amps, and so one who plays live and needs most of their patches at the same volume... Any more go to amps for you guys? So far I've found a lot of the older Marshalls and Fenders I like, and both Bogners....

It's a matter of taking the time to learn to use the equipment you buy, if you expect something to sound PERFECT when you turn it on, then you are misguided... As far as learning curve, I had a used Vetta Combo first, with my Peavey JSX.... And then a desktop ux1. Began using the Vetta more, then I bought the x3 live... And years later bought the 500x... I loved the fact that the operation from the screen on the board was just like the X3.... It took about a month before I started using the PC software and I've been loving it!!!! And now the Variax!!!! And sharing tones on customtone is awesome.... So anyone that cannot move forward, expects perfection right away is stuck in the past and lazy....
