A computer is not required to use the unit as a "musical tool". In fact, it is suggested that you do not use it as a "musical tool" while hooked up to a computer. However, as previously said, there are things that you can only do with a computer (android and ios do not work). But those things are not required ******* You can buy one from the store, take it straight to a show, and perform. And never need a computer. AND never feel as if you are only using it to half of its abilities. On the other hand, based on my personal usage, I would die if I didn't have a computer for it But I stress, that is based on my usage.

Correct. FRFR. PA. Amps. You can plug the pod into these things.
-
Screw the amps. Go direct. If the sound guy doesn't know how to do it, he shouldn't be a sound guy. If the sound system can't handle it, don't use that sound system. And if you need some sort of amp to monitor your sound on stage, then you can use an amp to monitor the sound without it affecting house sound. But to answer the questions - 1. I think some people are misunderstanding the question because English isn't your first language. So, allow me to answer a different possibility --- Yes, you can plug your Pod into amps. The same as you would any other "pedal". 2. Again, go direct. No need to worry about amps. BUT, should you insist on using one, the same FRFR units that we recommend for guitarists can be used for bassists. One amp, one pod, all instruments in all ranges including vocals.

Changing to Active PA speaker from Blackstar Club 40.

headphones another alternative is an itty bitty amp that can be attached to a stand, so that it can be raised to ear level. -
That sounds like a phase issue that is due to not being properly plugged in. Test it using your patches. The next time you have this "reverb only" issue, make a patch that is panned completely left and completely right. I bet it will sound normal. But as you pan the left and right to be more centered, it will start to phase out. And if that is the case, just buy a new adapter or headphones.

The reason I use different guitars is because they are all different. Some people want to make patches sound the same when they use different guitars, which means using a variation of each patch for each guitar. Not me. One patch. if I need to "rock hard" I use the "rock hard" guitar to make that one patch sound "rock hard". If I need to sound "country twang" I use the "country twang" guitar. Of course, if you have a flaming pink Jackson Rhoads, you aren't playing country. So, in that instance, it would be ok to have a patch designed for that guitar. But, for the most part, use guitars that sound different and let them sound different. People Things are different. Quit trying to make everyone everything the same. We They aren't the same.

Yeah, people are dumbfounded to find out that I played with Alice Cooper and Meat Loaf - and used a Peavey Bandit 65. They're playing venues that are smaller than some of the stages I have been on, while using ten times the amp power I used.
-
But the thing about modelers is: You shouldn't use them with a guitar amp. It doesn't matter how good a Fender model is, it will never sound like a Fender if it is played through a Peavey. Marshall will never sound like Marshall when played through a Fender. Guitar amps have a "personality", that is why we choose one over another. You're basically playing a personality through a personality resulting in a 3rd personality. Not necessarily a bad sound, just not the sound. Sort of like looking at a picture with your eyes. And then using a red filter to look at the same picture. It looks very different. Blues are purple. Reds are white. Yellow is orange. Etc.

I'm considering buying a Pod HD500X - questions!

But he said that the Boss was easy "once you learn it". That is the same as the Pod. Learning curve, but then easy. I totally agree with "you wont be use to it and it is going to frustrate you". -
There needs to be something to power the speakers. The HD500 does not provide power.

yes yes and yes -
While I think you can use the pod as a standalone, the fx loop is the best bet for the outside pedals. That way: 1. you can put them before or after or somewhere in between. 2. when you don't need them, they can be bypassed so that there is no degradation of the signal.

Some MF'er comes here doing something stupid. We tell him to stop. We tell him that he is lucky that he still has gear. And then he wants to continue doing what he is doing. Damn straight that my mangina got sand in it. He seems like the kind of guy that would try to return his unit or have it serviced under warranty and then trash the brand online because it didn't last --- all because he was too stupid to know.

I read it a few times before I posted trying to make sure that I didn't misunderstand something.

1. learn how to play. your hands make the noise. soft. loud. fast. slow. all your choice. 2. compressors. they lower peaks. they raise valleys. everything is very level/stagnant. 3. learn how to play.
-
Like I said, save your money on mods because your gear is going to wear out long before it should. Plus, if your friend is a modder, he already knows if anything is available and how to do it if it is.
-
I am going to sound like a lollipop saying this, but I don't lollipopping care. Because you lollipopped up real bad and got damn lucky so I am just going to come right out and say it... Because you were hooking up gear between your amp and head, you have made it painfully obvious that you do not have the experience to try to mod anything. So, no, there are no mods you can try. There are no pedals to buy. Save your money because I have a feeling that your gear is going to need repaired/replaced long before any of ours will.

There are very few things that can handle going between an amp and cab.

UNPLUG THAT IMMEDIATELY
-
But what I was eluding to, is the fact that you could use the patch bay into the Pod input and then to/from fx loop and finally output. The same as if it was going into the amp's fx loop. But, because it is a patch bay, you could then use a 4cm with the amp and patch bay as well. Your FX loop could be enclosed inside another fx loop. Imagine the possibilities.

that makes total sense. people buying one device after another... The divorce rate is more the half for the same reason. There's always a newer model around the corner.
-
it is not a wah pedal. It is an assignable expression pedal. You need to assign the wah to be controlled by the pedal.
-
The EXP pedals are assignable to any effect. Have you assigned the wah control to the pedal?
