  1. Master volume, is a completely standalone volume. It does not get saved to the patches. Set your master volume once, and then use volume controls that are within the patches to create an equal level between patches. Master Volume and Global EQ are two things that stand outside of patches and can ruin or improve your overall experience.
  2. But the "Andy can't get his live rig" scenario is exactly what we have told you from the beginning - recorded tone vs actual tone. You aren't trying to sound like Andy sounds. You are trying to sound like the record sounded after it has been recorded, re-recorded, multi-tracked, mixed, processed, and re-processed, and then played on your home stereo. That's a YUGE difference.
  3. Quite frankly, if you are that concerned over it, you would actually be doing the world a favor by not living anymore.
  4. Yes. It is a brilliant piece of sound replication. Andy Summers pooped his pants at how much I sounded like him.
  5. Your machine is broken. Throw it in the trash. Buy a new one.
  6. If the patch in question doesn't sound like you think it should sound - change it. The HD500X is not like one of those cheap little modeling amps with 10 pre-programmed choices where you either like it or you don't because you are stuck with just those 10 choices. TheHD500X is a fully functional amp modeling system. Modeling amp vs amp modeling - there is a difference.
  7. If it helps you at all... You can assign more than one effect to a foot switch. That way, if you are, as example, turning off distortion and turning on chorus at the same time - you can do that with one button.
  8. EDIT means edit. It does not mean 24/7 control panel. Trust me, you aren't the first one.
  9. You are using the word bank and preset, which leads me to think you are not using them to mean the same thing. Could you tell us more about what you think a bank and a preset are? --- because, as you see above, you have two people giving two opposite answers. I, myself, almost said yes it could be done to the work bank until I kept reading and saw you use the word preset, Now I am just confused. I am leaning more towards - no, it can't be done. But I would like some clarity on the question before I give a definite answer.
  10. Or headphone jack, depending on what speakers you are actually talking about.

    FX Setlist

L6 limits the amount of data that we can host. So, after two years, it is possible that the OP deleted it to make room for other stuff.
  12. WAIT... That post is almost 3 years old. While that may be one of the factory lists, the factory preset list has been updated since then to correspond with the newest features. So, it may not be exactly what you are looking for.
  13. Like I said, we are willing to help. In fact, I was the first one to answer you. But if you think the unit only has 32 presets, you did not read the manual(s). Go back to the first response you got - Are you using the EDIT software? Do you know what a setlist and a bundle are? Again, you did not read the manual.
  14. While the forums are full of people who are willing to help, I don't know many that want to waste their time. Download and read the manuals. I believe there are 4 of them. Then come back with questions.
  15. SAVING I assume you are on a pc and are using the EDIT software? You can save patches, setlists, and a bundle. If you want to save individual patches, you can do the "save" thing 512 times if you want. But I find it easier to "drag-and-drop" them in bulk rather than one at a time. DELETING There is no delete. So, you are going to be overwriting them one way or the other. Me, personally, I have a "new tone" saved. I also have a setlist full of new tones, as well as a bundle full of new tones. Then, as needed, I can delete (by overwriting) a single patch, a complete setlist, or the entire bundle.
  16. tell him to come here. It is so much easier when not going through a 3rd party. Also, there is nothing you need to do on your end.
  17. for going direct to a PA, I always suggest using the two XLR jacks. Yes, BOTH of them. The 1/4" may sum to mono if you only use one, but the XLR does not.
  18. Misuse/misunderstanding of the terminology can be confusing. Dual amps is not the same as a dual path. Also, dual path is not the same as separate path. And then you toss in stereo, and dual inputs.... the possibilities are endless. Just confusing at first.
  19. That link is every file that was on CustomTone at the time (I believe it is 3 years old, which means there are 3 years worth of files that are not in there). The reason "Hillsong" is in there dozens of times is because it is on Custom Tone that many times.
  20. The files at that link all show the wrong file extension, but they will work in the appropriate machines. --- meaning, the files in the 500x folder will work in the 500x even though they have the wrong extension.
  21. Silent on some patches is typically one of two thing --- 1. Input source - a guitar jack isn't going to sound when it is sourced for mic 2. fx loop - such as the loop being active in the patch but is not being used, therefore the signal is floating in space somewhere. Even though that doesn't sound like what you have, start there.
  22. And don't be fooled by a cheap price on brand name either. If every where is selling something for $25 and you see someone selling it for $8...
  23. Emphasis on GOOD contact cleaner. Don't try buying the stuff for a dollar from a Chinese dealer on Amazon. What would you rather do, spend a couple extra bucks on the right cleaner or spend the money on a new 500x after it shorts out.
  24. Even if you had a list of 500x patches, you can only import one item at a time. That item could be a patch, setlist, or bundle. So, it isn't necessarily limited to one patch at a time. You can export individual patches in bulk, but not import.
