I used a combination of the 5150 and Big Bottom amps for a few months straight because of the cool phasey sound I got from it.

It's toasted. RIP Nepex's Pod.

I'm in your boat, except I don't really miss my amp (that I still own). I like tones the ax8 has but the thought of being able to have 30 effects in one chain is tempting
-
No silly, that's what the fuzz pedals are for. Overdrives are for making the sound overdriven

My chain is Guitar > HD500x > PA. It's been this way since i got my PHDX over a year ago. It's been a learning process for sure, but nothing steep. Just read up and put in the time. I used to use a Carvin MTS3200, two cabs and a board with a bunch of pedals. Now I can carry my entire rig in one go up a flight of stairs. I didn't sell anything though. I just don't use them much.

Yes way dude. I don't have to tap dance real pedals any more. Makes me a better (focused) guitar player :D But.... Millions of dollars, though? :D

Not a workaround, but a solution In Windows, there's a virtual sound mixer, where you can control the level of the system sounds. If you haven't heard, here in 2016 they have things called the Helix that can do all that. Expensive device? You can't even get a decent guitar for $500. If it ain't broke..

Feature Request - Assign Programmable Keyboard Shortcuts to Footswitches
AlexKenivel replied to sltmunky69's topic in POD HD
Have you heard of the punch and roll technique? You can give yourself as much time as you need to get ready for a take. AFAIK all DAWs have this. -
How to 4CM: 1. Guitar > Pod guitar in 2. Pod effects loop out > Amp guitar in 3. Amp effects loop out > Pod effects loop return 4. Pod unbalanced out > Amp effects loop return. Pre fx come first in the chain, like ODs, pre EQs, some modulations/filters, etc. then you can place the effects Loop before or after the amp block, assign them both to the same foot switch (with one on and one off) to toggle them on and off. This would be a good way to go from clean to mean without changing presets. Turning on the fx loop (and the modeled amp off) gives you the preamp from your physical amp, but when you turn it off, you're only getting signal from your power amp. Make sure to select one of the PRE models and turn off cabinet modeling to do it "right" but I've used all kinds of different combinations in the past. Then Reverbs, delays, post eqs and such.

The same happened to me three times. First time I was plugging pod into my interface and interface into a power amp to power some speakers. the power amp wasn't even plugged in and I saw Sparks. Bricked Pod and my Poweramp was never really the same after that. the second time, new device, became bricked as that Center black piece in my USB port come out and got stuck in the USB cable itself, and then the prongs got bent which shorted it out. the third time I was plugging a USB cable from my interface into the pod and it shocked me and dim the display on my pod for a few days before returning back to normal. I'm always reeeally careful with my pod now..

V2.0 - Vintage Digital Delay and changing delay times in realtime

And now you're camera is broken.. -
Psh.... B? These days it's nothing above Ab :D

This one uses the Uber And this one uses the Panama Both presets are dual amps, a dirty and clean. Path A has Screamer/Gate/Amp/EQ for dirty. Path B has Comp/Amp/Delay/Mod with EXP2 set for channel volume for swells on the clean tone. Go from dirty to clean with FS5. I made these patches with my Ibanez SIR27FD with Dimarzio Ionizers, humbuckers that have a single coil kind of sound, and coming through an Alto TS112a, so don't be surprised if the sound is not to your liking.

I see it's just some run of the mill Djont. The tone is reminiscent of early Monuments. These guys use ESPs and Jacksons with what looks like BKP Blackhawks.. If you have the metal pack, I suggest starting with the Panama model..I'd throw together something for you if I knew more about your other gear.
-
It just doesn't work that way. I don't think theres a magic EQ setting that makes direct tones sound good going into the front of an amp. I suggest you try the four cable method with your Pod and amp
-
Isolated guitar tracks as an example would help. Also what kind of guitar do you use and what is your output setup?
-
Communication between PC and Pod while editing is known to be buggy. After I save a preset I usually have to change banks and come back to it before it sounds right
-
If the store you got it from will replace it, then I'd spring for that rather than waiting a month or two for a repair
-
Yep. Those pixels in the LCD screen are out, on a three month old unit no less. I'm not surprised. I went through three units in under 6 months. Chinese parts...

Pics?

Just know what set list you're in. Save the presets where you want and use the Bank buttons to search through the current set list. If you power off the pod, when you turn it back on, it will be on the preset you used last.

What amp?

Using the exact same cab, mic, and pedals as my Panama preset helped :D.
