enjoy it. There's a lot of fun to be had in the metal pack

I use a single XLR and can easily clip my interface and daw. Crank your master volume on the pod
-
Try plugging straight into the wall. Try a different room or building to rule out some of the bigger factors that might be contributing to the problem
-
Assign both amps to whatever footswitch you want, manually press enter while an amp is highlighted to turn it off, assuming they're both on to begin with. The switch will now be like a toggle. Same deal with effects. The important part is turning one off manually.

Any way of copying or moving patches without computer
AlexKenivel replied to bptrav's topic in POD HD
Google search for the Pod hd500x Advanced Pilots guide, download and go to section 4.1 there's everything you need to know about editing and managing setlists without the editing software. -
it's 80 degrees at the airport, which is ridiculous because nobody lives at the airport

Sending a dry signal from HD500X to vocal harmonizer
AlexKenivel replied to shlepprock's topic in POD HD
You want to feed a dry guitar signal into a vocal processor? -
I didn't. Like I said, the Alto want even on and I didn't really have time to mess with it. I'll check it out next week at practice.
-
I'll make this quick. I use a quarter-inch cable for my Alto and I plugged an XLR cable from the XLR out of my iPod to our PA system. From the PA system I got a very annoying buzzing sound that stopped when I took the quarter-inch cable out of the pod. Remembering now, I did not have the Alto turned on at the time. Could this be the source of the noise?

So I got an Alto TS110a and have a question
AlexKenivel replied to robertmcollins3's topic in POD HD
I found the same thing with my Alto TS112a. Stereo audio cable and 1/8th to 1/4th adapter. I'm planning on just getting a small mixer. -

HD500X with Impulse Responses (used LeCab and Ownhammer)
AlexKenivel replied to afedericojr's topic in POD HD
Idk, I've gotten great tones with IRs with and without the HDs cabs on. Try some different IRs. With cabs off, the mics don't affect the sound but there is a silence or a click or something (it's been a while) when you try to select a different mic. -
I always turn HUM down.

FM4 effects>modeled FM4 effects. I still have/love that huge purple pedal :D
-
No problem. I saw it in a Guitar Center book that came a few days ago and thought it looked interesting. If you decide to bite the bullet and pull the trigger, I'm sure there are plenty of folks who'd be interested in hearing about your outcome.

I like having my Master Volume at around 3 o clock. Id rather keep my FRFR speaker volume as low as I can or else the hiss from the speaker will be too overbearing to me. I typically use the channel volume to adjust volumes throughout the presets and adjust the mixer levels only if I really need to (Jazz Rivet, anybody?). I really like Smaash's idea with the volume pedal, although I'm a minimalist and get by fine without external pedals.
-
Does that mean you leave it on all the time otherwise?
-
Dunlop has a pedal that can be a volume pedal or an expression pedal.

I used to use the global EQ to cut above a certain frequency (to cut excess highs) before I figured out that those frequencies are important for lush reverbs and modulations. The global EQ, when thought of in your signal chain (although you don't really see it) would be last after all of your post-amp effects, affecting the sound. I now instead use a parametric EQ after the amp (and mixer usually) and before any time based and modulation effects, and the low cut in the cab DEPs for boominess.

Bring it to a friends house and see if it still happens there. I thought my unit was messed up, but it turns out I have some faulty wiring in my house that cause electronics to buzz and hum like mad.

Sounds like it's gas powered..

I can never get the J-800 to sound good. The 2204 is okay, but the J-45 reigns supreme on my unit for less than high gain settings.
-
how do you plan to amplify it? Through your amps' fx returns? A PA wedge? There are a lot of options. I used my 500x through a tube heads fx return for a while and liked the sound I was getting while in Studio/Direct output mode with full amp models (not preamp only models), and cab/mic simulation on. A lot of people wouldn't do it this way, but nothing is wrong if it sounds right. I use a PA wedge these days, and I use the JTM45 model for pretty much all my cover tunes. Low bass, sag, hum, presence maxed, res level less than halfway, a touch of low cut and a tube drive out front for some push, and a graphic EQ for a clean mid boost for leads
